I had a disappointing experience with Garrett from Drapery Affair and Floor Store…read more There was first confusion about the appointment date. I had September 16 at 9:30 a.m. in my calendar, but when he did not arrive, I was told the appointment was actually scheduled for the 17th. When Garrett arrived, I asked if he would remove his shoes before walking through my home. He told me that, based on company rules and OSHA requirements, he had to keep them on because they are general contractors. I later verified that OSHA did not require that under the circumstances. I was so surprised by the response that I did not think to offer the disposable shoe covers I had available. If shoes must remain on, I would expect someone routinely entering customers' homes to carry booties. Before the appointment, I had already explained that I was specifically interested in top-down/bottom-up cellular shades, with insulation, light control, privacy, and ease of use being priorities. Despite that, a fair amount of time was spent discussing other window-covering options. There were also several operating mechanisms. Although Garrett described them, I did not feel they were demonstrated particularly clearly, and I repeatedly had to ask to see the options again. I was then expected to choose both the mechanism and the color before an accurate quote could be prepared, which felt like a lot to decide during one appointment for a whole-house project. When it was time to measure, Garrett suggested that I choose colors while he moved through the house and ADU measuring. I was not comfortable having someone I had just met walking through my home and property unaccompanied, so I went with him. Once the measuring was finished and I could focus on the samples, Garrett provided very little assistance with the color-selection process. He did not offer to hold up the swatches, compare colors, or provide much guidance, so I had to ask someone who was already working at my house to help me. While that person held the samples against the wall and I stood back to evaluate them, Garrett remained nearby on his phone and appeared disinterested and disengaged from the process. At times, he also stood uncomfortably close, which made the experience feel awkward rather than helpful. The person helping me was also present for portions of the appointment and observed some of these interactions. My overall impression was that Garrett had product knowledge, but I did not experience him as especially engaged or attentive in the consultative part of the appointment. I did not feel particularly guided through what was a fairly significant purchase. Garrett also mentioned that the business was started by his grandfather and is now run by his father and uncle. Normally, I would contact a company directly before posting a review, but given that family relationship, I did not feel that my concerns would necessarily carry much weight internally. I ultimately decided not to move forward with Drapery Affair and Floor Store and chose another company.

Lines and reveals are tight, uniform, and proportional. Paint job is superior to many others! It has held up well in the last year year and a half. As with any custom build, there were some unique challenges, and we had a request for a minor change here and there as our design evolved. Casey was attentive and creative in helping us in the process. He was always available to verify measurements to make sure our other trades could put stuff in the appropriate place (plumbing lines, outlets, etc). We are now 1+ years into living with the new kitchen, and even though it is of fairly modest size, we feel it has every amenity one could wish for, and facilitates ease in workflow as if it were much larger than it is! Andrews Fine Cabinets made this all possible, and they were easy to work with. We report zero problems as of 1.5 yrs of use. Doors and drawers still square and smooth. Pulls and paint still look like new. Thank you! (Sorry for the delay in reviewing!)

Given the 2 years lapse in time is the best quality indicator and greatest testament to this truly wonderful cabinet company. First and foremost, the family and crew are professional and wonderful. The total experience from design to installation left nothing to be desired as they were proactive, timely, competent and clean. Every interaction showed why a family run business is better than an impersonal box store. They asked questions for clarification rather than assume this is what we wanted. They had a "can do attitude" verses one full of excuses. The contractural agreement and payment schedule was straightforward and painless. I certainly would use them if I had to do it all over again but there is no need. Like I said, 2 years have passed and all is still very good! We are positively very happy with our beautiful kitchen, mud room and hallway cabinets!

In late August I found the BEST cabinet designer after 2 months of searching. He lives in Camarillo. zip code 93012 Call Daniel at Clean Edge Cabinetry. You won't be sorry. He uses 5 different companies depends on your taste and needs, he picks the company suits your budget. He came over to my house 2-3 times to make sure I didn't have any changes before he sent the order. His price was almost the same with 2 other places I had quotes from. Therefore I didn't pick him because of better price. I chose him because of his personal service he offers. He delivered my cabinets after only 2 weeks, all assembled by himself. No charge for delivery. Lowe's would charge me $475. and would have taken 5 weeks. I had 4 cabinets with glass. Since the glass panels do not come from the cabinet company, he took 4 door panels to the glass shop and brought them back the next day and installed the door back again. No charge either! He came before completion of remodeling work to make sure that his product was installed correctly with crown. Plus he came again to video tape each door to make sure the automatic closing door closes without making any sound. He is professional, so caring and responsible. He is on time at each visit. His full name is Daniel Pendergast. Phone: (805) 768-4320 The man next to me is Daniel. The last photo is my old counter by the stove. I only had 15" & 18" wide cabinet before.

I had a small job, a single cabinet door that had warped, so I found them on Yelp and they told me to bring the door in. Jacob, the owner, was a great guy and showed interest in helping me even though I wasn't spending a lot of money on a large project. He explained my options and we ultimately decided to have the door rebuilt. Since he outsources paint jobs, I agreed to find my own painter since that allowed him to squeeze me in and cut a door for me on the spot. He gave me a quick showing of his work area and the CNC machine that he uses, and the new door was completely flat and a perfect replacement for the old one. Awesome. Since I had to find my own painter, I ultimately had a painting company do the door when they painted my house. Unfortunately, the result was not the same professional finish that my other cabinet doors have. So I brought the door back to Jacob and he agreed to have his painter fix it. After a bit of a wait, the new door was ready. The finish is now completely smooth, the way a professional cabinet job should be. On top of that, the price was quite reasonable. Thanks Jacob for helping me out. I know where I'll be going when I need a larger cabinet project done!

I tell them, if we don't even have a contract and you're being like this, what am I to expect? Next day, I get a text about the room to be done, is it upstairs or downstairs, and the bathroom, is it being done? I'm totally confused, we never spoke about a bathroom and the room is upstairs. I get the quote finally. It's ~$30k more than another quote I got from a 5 star Yelp business. WTH. Looking deeper into the quote, it's talking about terracota tile and grout...we never spoke about that, we spoke what I already have downstairs, which is laminate. They even stated, that's a manufactured piece we can't get anymore but we can get something close to match. Don't always believe Yelp reviews, but I'd believe this one.
