From the beginning to the end this was the best experience I have ever had while purchasing furniture. The staff was friendly, helpful, and not in the least pushy. The showroom is full of many choices and styles tastefully displayed. The pride of the owner is obvious from your first step in the front door. All of my many questions were answered with patience as I wasn't sure about what I wanted or how to tie it all together in my home. Everything arrived and was delivered in a timely manner. I was frankly shocked at the quality and value of what I received. I love this store and the people who run it. It's so nice to be able to trust the integrity of the product and service, and people who provide it. Don't hesitate shopping here. It's a gem!

Maude, the owner, happened to be out in the front of her store watering her very unusual bonsai looking small trees growing in containers. An old, I think former gas station with antiques, consignment stuff, handmade jewelry, local crafters creations, furniture, lamps, kitchen merchandise, gardening tools, Xmas stuff, just an eclectic, fun place to look around and explore and enjoy yourself. Lots of items for those people who love old and primitive decor. I always seem to find something to take back home to enjoy. Depending on how badly you want something that you come across, price shouldn't matter. We wondered the entire place and although we could hear voices in the back no one was on the retain floor. Despite other customers entering the store, no one even popped out to say hi or acknowledge any of us. First of all, the owner was super rad, and we talked for probably about an hour. She was super personable and told me about how she came to open the store. Her dog, a gorgeous black Lab named Zoe, kept coming up for love rubs and giving me her toys. The store was curated with such great finds. Lots of cool, pristine, vintage finds and some new home decor thrown in as well. It was the best of both worlds. She certainly has an eye for design flair (I guess she also helps with interior design). I loved the mid century sofa she had on display- it was in perfect condition and a great price. There is a candle- just one candle - that smells amazzinng. It's their "signature" Pentwater scent. Just walk into the store, and you'll be like "what is that?!" Yeah; two of those came home with me. I ended up piling stuff on the counter and then mentioned I didn't know how I was going to pack it all in my luggage. She took the time to wrap everything well and put some things in boxes to protect it during my trip back to Cali. I love supporting independent, local businesses mostly because I own one myself. I know what it takes to make something like this work, and it's not easy. HOWEVER, let it be known...I'm not sure I have ever been in a more bizarrely unwelcoming and aggressively hostile shop. I have traveled all over the world...and certainly all over Michigan...and no shop has ever had more security cameras, rules posted, and snarky, rude negative employees. It is so off-putting I do my best to avoid it. For a tourist village, this shop is actively making it known they don't care about welcoming customers and they are clearly maniacally paranoid. Enter at your own risk. Are the candles pleasant? Yes. But it's not worth the experience you are forced to go through to make a purchase.
