We stopped there on Wednesday morning June 5th to do 3 weeks worth of laundry from our Campervan travels. The attendant on duty was fabulous. She was very attentive to our needs and ran a very efficient operation during what proved to be a very busy time. The machines were in good order and everything was very clean. Road Trip tip - find a drop-off/wash & fold business like Lost Sock to refresh your clothing stock while you enjoy your day! Lost Sock was a GREAT find in Custer! The folks walking in with laundry baskets is a telling sign (as are all the machines going at 8 in the morning)! At first, I was going to do laundry myself, but having discovered wash and folds while traveling through Europe, I decided to walk directly up to the counter. The team at the counter was friendly, personable, and enthusiastic to alleviate me from having to do the work. At $1.50/pound, 10 pound minimum, the time I got back to do some shopping in town and get ready to launch to the next sight on our road trip was WELL WORTH IT! I love it - they told me I was first in line (thus FIFO), so they'd jump on it right away. While on vacation, I was waiting in the parking lot, less than 20 yards away when my disabled veteran husband, who has memory issues, was berated in front of our grandchild for leaving clothes in the dryer for the afternoon due to a sick grandchild and time constraints. When my husband offered an apology, it fell on deaf ears. The attendant was both hurtful and unprofessional. Zero stars. The attendant has thus far refused to own this situation. Our vacation has been great, all the people we have encountered have been wonderful! Custer is a fantastic city, I see this is an isolated incident. read more

Visited 8/27/22 in mid morning. The place was a little busy but there were plenty of washers available. There were only two extra large washers so we had to wait for them to open up as we were washing sleeping bags and blankets. Budget $3.50 /wash and $1.25/dry minimum. The big ones were $5.25 and $6.25. Three biggest one runs extra long but did a fantastic job. Only 4 stars because of how cramped otherwise a great stop to get the job done. read more

Friendly, helpful service. Lots of machines with a clean facility. The two big industrial machines served us well (as we had a lot of laundry to do). The attendant was very sweet with my 5 kids and made sure they were comfortable and gave them each a sucker. I would highly recommend The Lost Sock. My husband and I were in town for a vacation, over the labor day weekend. We dropped off our laundry on Saturday and meant to pick it up the next day, as I had no more clean clothes. As vacations go, we didn't get back into town until almost 9pm on Sunday My husband thought he saw someone in the laundry, so he walked over and knocked on the door. A nice man actually opened the door (although they were technically closed) and happily gave us our clean laundry. They could have ignored the knock and made us wait till Tuesday but they didn't. Clean, efficient, happy, and friendly. Someone had come in just before us with a large load that was to take many machines. The proprietor met us out in the parking lot and made sure she had enough machines and space for us. She was running around the whole time making sure everyone was getting what they needed. Went here mid-road trip to do some laundry. They have so many machines and open 6:30am-10pm (last load 8pm-ish). Washers were $2.25-2.75/load; dryer was $0.25/6 minutes (mine need $1 to dry). You can also drop off for $1.25/lb (min 10 lb). They actually clean the inside (and throughout the facility) of their machines. I'm pretty sure they are cleaner than mine at home. The lady working there (Cindy, I believe) was super nice and helpful. She was readily available for any questions or just a chat. read more

These are the nicest people we have ever encountered at a laundromat. The owner is so sweet and helpful as well as her son. It's clean and has a lot of washers and dryers. We are on the road in our Motorhome quiet a bit and wash ever week or so. Wish all the laundromats were like this. Whenever we are in Custer this is the only place we will go too. Even if we have to come back because they are too busy at the time. It's worth the wait. read more

We were staying in Custer State Park as part of a 3 week road trip. Needed somewhere to do laundry. Found on Yelp and called to ask about a drop off laundry service. Friendly worker told us it was $1.50/pound for a 10 pound minimum. We dropped off our dirty laundry the next day in the morning and it was clean and ready in the afternoon. Great value and service! Thank you so much ladies of The Lost Sock. We were camping at Stockade Lake and my youngest had an accident in her sleeping bag. Yikes! I took the sleeping bag to the Lost Sock in the morning and by 5pm I picked it up all fresh and clean, all for around $15!!! They will even do your regular laundry for you so you don't have to spend vacation time sitting in a laundromat. Super friendly. We will certainly use your services next time we are in town for an extended camping trip! read more

I highly recommend this place; the nice lady made my day! She was friendly and professional. How wonderful in the middle of our family of 5 vacation, to simply drop of 18 lbs of laundry and pick it up 1 1/2 hrs later, folded and clean!!!
