Even an emergency service vehicle didn't give one fuck about the pedestrian sidewalk. C'mon. The gym is very nice when you step in, the front desk associate was nice and it generally looked like a very well maintained goodlife. They had a huge empty floor full of every machine, a turf, squat racks etc. On the same level, they had a salt water pool with a whirpool AND a outdoor basketball court. Amazing. If you go upstairs, there are more machines, cardio and more power racks! Ugh, a powerlifter's dream. There's also separate rooms for stretching etc. Changeroom is also beautiful and clean. Very well kept etc. For the record, nobody has ever tried to sell me personal training at any goodlife so I never had that problem everyone's complaining about.

They thought it was appropriate to make snide comments about her weight. It took ever once of my self control not to go down there. They refuse to cancel your membership and they continue to charge you until you have to get a new card. They just started charging me after over a year of not having a membership. That's fraud and theft. You people are all complete and utter degenerates. If you are trying to cancel your subscription and they are refusing my advice is to break everything and get banned. That is the only way to deal with people this completely brainless.

But as a salesperson myself - and human, with a soul - I was totally turned off by this gym's approach to soliciting clients for their personal trainers. When you join the gym, there is a mandatory orientation with one of their trainers/sales staff. The session itself was fine, but when it came time to close the deal, the rep rejected facts (i.e. I can't afford $300+/month for a personal trainer) and instead went on the offensive, saying things like "if you can't find the money, you obviously don't care about your health" and "If you don't get a trainer, you won't last more than 3 months here." I get it - you have targets. I've been in that meeting when you know you're losing someone and you're looking for ways to save it. Luckily I've never had to sell anything as unaffordable as personal training, and have likely never been under the same pressure to hit those targets... However, I would NEVER try to tear someone down just to establish a need for what I'm selling. I do appreciate the encouragement to set goals, but this rep's attitude left an awful taste in my mouth, and I have zero interest in returning to the vulture culture that lives in this facility. I will achieve these goals on my own and in the meantime, I strongly suggest you reconsider the structure of your sales process. If you're looking for a place to start working out, DUFC probably isn't it. If you do decide to join this gym, be prepared for them to go in for the kill and just stay focused on your reasons for joining.

I've been trying to cancel my membership for legit personal reasons for 3 days now and they…read moreconveniently have had excuses every day for not being able to cancel it. I know they're trying to make money off of me and it's their job to get me to not cancel, but I know what they're doing. If they can stall you from cancelling and get you to stay for more than 10 days they can make you pay a cancellation fee, which is clearly what they're trying to do with me, which I really don't appreciate and it's pissing me off a little. Additional heads up, if you need to cancel, just make them do it right then and there because they will lie through their teeth, right to your face to try and make you stay. I've been told twice that "somebody will call me to help me out" and I've had to call THEM to get somebody because they obviously never relayed the message to anyone and obviously have no intention of "helping me out". When I finally got somebody they told me that the person who generally does the cancellations has conveniently taken a sick day today, for the second time two days apart. I thought I might return to this gym another time but 10/10 I will not be dealing with this again. Honestly join a cult or the army, they're easier to get out of

It's alright. They…read moredo not put in much effort to ensure that people are wiping down their machines after use. I see so many people walk away without cleaning anything. I feel like a loser when I walk in and clean the machines/mats before and after my workout for this reason. It also wastes a lot of my time, personally. The music is awful. They have this equipment in the centre of the main floor reserved for personal training sessions. You can use the equipment, but if a session comes to push you out, that's totally fair - I understand that part. It's rarely used, anyway, though. My other thoughts, personally - if I was signing up for personal training, I would not want to be on display there in the centre of the room. Showers are absolutely terrible, if you want to keep any items dry - you cannot. Every single shower will spray onto the outside of the shower, so it's always wet. The floor is always slippery, water pressure is very scattered and aggressive. No shelving in the showers - they are awful. The pool, sauna, and hot-tub are rather fantastic, I will say. Hot tub and pool are closed on Monday so a third party company can come clean them. I like that they do that. There are no classes after 11am on Sundays. No classes at all on weekdays after 7pm. This gym could very well be 24 hours, and it's not. There are a few broken machines. The free weights are a stinky jungle after 6pm on any day - not even just weekdays. Weekend hours are only until 8pm. Overall, it's a good gym. There is plenty room for improvement. Oh the juice bar just re-opened after a 3 year hiatus! Expensive, so I haven't tried it - but it looks like a very promising menu.

Sending this on behalf of a friend. A better job needs to be done in monitoring employee behaviour…read morewith regards to appropriate client-employee relationship boundaries in the workplace. There is a trainer (I think his name is M.J) who is overly flirtatious with female members and in my opinion crosses the line for what is appropriate behaviour. In a fitness studio, it is important to create a safe and trusting environment where members do not have to worry about unsolicited comments that can be perceived as a sexual nature. People want to feel confortable when they're working out - they are in a vulnerable position where they worry about their body, how they look, and will often compare themselves to others. This is not the environment to be taking advantage of people's insecurities for their own personal gain. I sincerely hope that a better job can be done by the management in training employees on how to create and keep a safe space for its members.

Class and Atmosphere: The intensity is quite good with…read more500-600 calories burned on average. The class is usually divided into 60 mins: 20 mins treadmill, 20 mins weights, 20 mins rowing. The one instructor is shared amongst all areas of the class. The instructor will call out instructors for all 3 sections. There is TV screens to provide video examples of how to perform the weight-based exercises. I found that the sharing of the instructor was a bit less interactive, than other studios like F45 where you get more attention from the instructor and do not have to rely on a TV screen or peers as much. I also found the cost of the class to be a bit high considering you are more self directed on the treadmill and the rowing machines, so 2/3 of the class cost is really to do things without alot of attention or instruction. Instructor: The instructors all have decent energy, but I found that it did not push you as hard as other locations I have been to. There is one personal trainers during the class that go around and motivate you, correct your form, ensure you are pushing yourself while being safe and enjoying the class. Fitness Level: I found the instructors here tended to prioritize safety over wanting to have the highest possible intensity. I had my treadmill turned down for speed because I was going "too fast". That is something to note, that the demographic is a bit on the older age group (late 30s-50s) and if you are a young adult you may not feel motivated by your peers. I would say there are certain injuries that would be hard to do in this class. If you have a leg or back injury this would be difficult with lots of burpees, jumping, running, cycling, rowing. Those are common exercises that would be difficult to modify. Amenities: There is a water bottle station. There are areas to place your belongings but they are not locked. The stations are well cleaned, and instructors provide cleansing wipes for the equipment as you switch to different parts of the class.
