ZERO STARS I ordered the "dinner for one" through Uber eats today and it totalled $30 ($22 price plus taxes, delivery fee etc). Turned out very disappointing. Chicken Madras was too salty and had no flavor other than excessive salt, naan was dry and hard (did not even look or taste like naan, maybe just some store-bought flat bread), and there was NO GOBI in the aloo gobi matar! None of it tasted like Indian food. Way too expensive for the quality and portion sizes. Felt like they didn't care that someone is actually going to eat this!! All you can eat buffets in most Indian restaurants are less than half price of this! Too overpriced for such poor quality and taste. I could not even finish the small amount of chicken due to all the saltiness. read more

Curry's - Dinner for one. Not recommended at all - Indian Near Me - London, Ontario

Was told 30 mins for my order it took a hour and five minutes. Charged for 8oz yogurt we received 4oz. portions and its store bought yogurt at that. Portion sizes were insulting. Zero customer service for the wait other than a small gesture of papadums and a flimsy apology. There was a young girl in the kitchen that appeared to be the owners daughter and her other daughter sitting at a table doing school work - None of them were wearing masks. I have never been so over charged for a Indian food anywhere in the province. Seriously, we were charged $3 for a bottle of Walmart brand water! I will not be returning to thus establishment. If I could give less than one star I would. Absolute rip off!! We will be making a complaint to the London Chamber of Commerce regarding the price on the bill compared to portion sizes in the bag. You cannot charge eat in prices and give smaller portions for take-out and claim its to cover the take-out containers, that stopped long ago. That should already be figured into the overhead and leading into that: The state of the front of house with computers and paperwork strewn about tells me the business is not organized or run very well. Having been a chef and line cook in many busy restaurants I would recommend you sell your business or close up. Whatever you're doing is making the public upset and it shows in the reviews. read more

So, when I saw a huge recommendation for this place, I deemed it to be a good place that I must check out. Now, let me give the credits first - servicing is pretty good. The ambience overall did feel a little dark but again, the hallway was very well decorated and had numerous paintings and stuff. The biggest positive was using proper silverware and not ceramics or glass for serving food. The appetizer papudum was good. The Channa Bathura as an appetizer kind of caught me off guard initially but I still tried it. Pretty decent. They had given three different spoons and of varying sizes as well for the side dishes and condiments. BUT... cut over to the main dish and it was well below average if I must be just polite enough with my words. It's all steeply priced for nothing! The paratha, naan and bhatura literally had no difference, whatsoever!! All were oozing and drizzling with oil that would take the hardest squeeze to drain out! The vegetable makhani was supposed to be creamy and thick. But not only was it watered down, but it also appeared to be having vegetables that are neither Indian nor blend well with Indian cooking, eg zucchini! Also, it was a total bummer that a strip of lemon was on it as well though it could have very well been given separately. Will I ever recommend this place? Possibly yes, but just watch for what you are ordering! Their mango lassi had ice cubes on it and I am still wondering why!! Let me sign off with what I signed off my eating with - rasamalai. It was fair! read more

The 3 of us had dinner here. For appetizers we ordered the fish cakes and the onion bhajis. The fish cakes were a bit on the loose side texture wise but very tasty. The onion bhajis were tasty but heavy on the the chickpea flour. (Also, no tamarind sauce with the bhajis) For the mains we ordered mushroom pilau rice, Beef bhona gosht, saag paneer and butter chicken. All were very tasty. The service was very good and our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time given how busy the restaurant was at that time. The wine menu to be honest was poor. Most of the wines were at the lower end of what you'd find in the LCBO. Yet most bottles were $30 or more. I don't mind paying a premium for a good bottle of wine at a restaurant but not for a crappy bottle. read more

We ordered from here on Valentine's day when our favourite Indian restaurant was closed for delivery. We used to go out to Curry's in the past, and thought we remembered it being pretty good. The butter chicken in particular was horrible. There were no bite-sized, juicy pieces of chicken. Instead, there were giant, almost whole chunks of chicken breast that were somehow mushy and dry at the same time. Cutting the chicken apart, there were those elasticy, stretchy bits throughout that were absolutely unappetizing. And then, there was almost no sauce. Not the deep orange-red, rich spicy sauce that you'd want in a butter chicken. The small amount of sauce was pale brown and mealy, like the texture of a lumpy potato soup. No idea what happened, but a big yikes from me. read more

First time in awhile. Had a black hair in food. Both dishes were pretty bad. The fish curry was close to being inedible. If can't make half decent Naans then what really is going on? read more

Very nicely decorated Indian restaurant, just across from the LCBO. It is reviewed on Yelp as the best Indian Restaurant in London, ON, but it falls short of the indian food in Toronto, which is really amazing. I had the butter chicken and I asked for 'mild' but it came completely bland. It tasted like cream - almost no spices. I didn't want it to be hot, but definitely didn't' want it bland. Nevermind, I still ate it since I was hungry. The ambiance is good, lots of colorful decorations, but the food can be much, much better. read more

Curry's - Butter chicken with dhaal naan - Indian Near Me - London, Ontario

I had better expectation from this place. The inside is soo adorable - very authentic, as far as I know anyway, and super cozy. This would be a great first date spot if you don't plan on sleeping in the same bed afterwards. It is indian food... Goat saag was pretty good, goat was soft and there was plenty of it. Butter chicken was meh. I have had better, I would try something else on the menu maybe not something so basic white girl next time. The thing that killed it for me were the chicken drum sticks. They took forever to make. When they came out they were kind cold. The chicken tasted old...like you know when the chicken itself is "of age"? Like that. IT WAS SO RED. I don't know what the spice is called but there was too much of it and I think my finger tips are still pink 2 weeks later. That plate could feed like 5 people, but of course I ate the whole thing myself. I would come back not so close to closing time maybe that was the problem...this place has some serious potential though. read more

I've gotten delivery from here several times because I figured with the gas prices, it was cheaper to order in than go there and pay tip. On top of that, I don't have to change out of my pajamas, and I like not having the restriction of jeans when I'm eating delicious and carb filled foods. First off, their naan is amazing. Seriously, I don't know what they do to it, but I have to literally push the entire order of it to the other side of the table to restrain myself from devouring it all. My husband ordered three orders once and we ate all of it. Pair that with their Matar Paneer or Butter Chicken and it's like the food gods are rejoicing in your mouth. The other day when I came in (because Groupon loves me and had a great 10 for 20 deal), I finally got to see their lunch special first hand. My husband got the butter chicken and I got the Madra Chicken. I was first served a salad and soup. The salad was good, and the soup was delicious but it was so flavourful, I had a hard time finishing it. When I got my madra chicken, I was a little dissapointed, mostly because the curry wasn't too my taste. The waitress came by and noticed that I wasn't really touching my food and accommodated to my pickier taste buds by getting me the butter chicken. The experience was so great that I can't help but give them five stars read more

Was here today for lunch and just was a compete miss. I'll stick to basic of what I felt and let you make your own choices. Arrived 115pm Friday, 3 other tables taken and we were sat. Given lunch menus which are all combo meals which include salad, Nan bread, veg and main. When I asked if I could order a bunch of different items was told no as they come as a combo, ok no problem and ordered lamb vindaloo and my partner butter chicken. By 230 we still had not been served yet and when I went to the waiters area and asked she had apologies etc. OK Thank you (things happen) I ordered hot for my main, later in the meal I had to asked gain go to the waiters area asked gained ask for water. She said "yes when you eat spicy you need lots of water" u hmmm the steel cups you give for water at 115pm don't last even for non spicy dishes.. but anyways. Over all I'd go back but not for awhile. Pros - location, dinning atmosphere Cons - staff on cell phones, poor service, unfortunate menu items. read more

Curry's - Indian Near Me - London, Ontario

A cozy little restaurant in London, Ontario Canada. We were traveling via road (401 W) and checked to see if there were any Indian restaurants and Curry's popped up in the search. The restaurant is small however has a very unique signature of its own. Ambiance is very welcoming and reminded me of restaurants in London UK. Small but very comfortable. We were greeted with extreme enthusiasm by our server so much so that I think that she was also the owner. A very sweet lady and she showed pride in the restaurant and the food that it was serving. The menu was also unique in the sense that it was not the customary Indian menu with a listing of available dishes and prices. Curry's menu revolves around complete "Thaalis" (Plates/Platters). Each thaali has a theme. For example, a Tandoori thaali may have Tandoori Chicken, Rice, Veggies, Naan etc. and A Butter Chicken thaali may have the chicken as the main course accompanied with its own side items. We had the latter and the flavors were something that I had not tasted in a long time. The Butter Chicken was prepared perfectly and the touch of cinnamon added to the great taste and aroma. The vegetables that came with the thaali were just as tasty. The portion was enough for two people. The price was approximately $16.95 CAD. Well worth it. We ordered a Mango Martini which was a great balance with the spices in our food. This restaurant also has free WiFi. read more

The best Indian Food in the city (believe me, I've tried them all) The staff is very friendly and the owners are often there to greet you, The food is authentic. All curries are delicious but my recommendations are Lamb Vindaloo (hot or "indian hot") and butter chicken (for those looking for a less spicy option) I believe there are 2-3 appetizer plates to chose from, these are a good option if you're not familiar with indian food. Also, be sure to have a mango lassie with your meal, especially if you order any dish "indian hot" The lassie will cut the heat straight away. There's about a dozen tables so if you're bringing a large party be sure to call ahead, they'll be more than happy to accommodate. My friends and I have a large dinner there once a year, approx 15 of us and it's never been a problem. If your looking for a winter warm up without leaving the house, call for delivery. I didn't have a menu but they gave me recommendations over the phone that I was very pleased with! The prices are so reasonable, they will keep you coming back for more. This is truly a wonderful restaurant in every respect. Thanks for reading, I guarantee, Curry's will NOT disappoint!!! read more

Not Authentic! The food was very poor, I had to ask if the sauce came from a can. The naan was the hard bread like naan making it just down right awful. The rice was okay and atmosphere was nice. The girls serving were excellent. For the price, small portions and very poor quality sauce. See the picture of the sauce, looks awful. Expensive too! read more

Curry's - Indian Near Me - London, Ontario

Firstly, I am not an Indian food expert in any way so please consider this review with a grain of salt. Curry's was a good experience and represents a quality option for in Indian food in London, Ontario. Two areas where Curry's excels are in its ambiance and its customer service. The decor and furnishings of the restaurant are create a atmosphere than corresponds with the type of food being served. Our server was very helpful and outgoing throughout the meal, and was able to accommodate our large party of 7 without any trouble. In regards to the food itself, the first thing you eat are the complimentary papadum which is nice to have. For my main dish I ordered a Chicken Tikka, with a side of mushroom pilao (rice), and Naan bread. The Chicken Tikka was good, nicely presented on a sizzling plate cooked in a tasty sauce. The rice was not my favourite, I felt it was lacking a bit in flavour, and the mushrooms were not in large enough quantities to justify paying extra. The Naan bread itself was solid, nothing unusual one way or the other. Overall, Curry's offers a great dine in experience with food that is overall good but could be better in some regards. It may not compare to Indian restaurants in cities better known for their dining reputations, but is definitely enjoyable and a solid option for Indian food in London. read more

Being from Vancouver we have been to a few Indian Restaurants and the food was so good Curry's deserves a compliment to spectacular food and service. The atmosphere was on the romantic side with dim lighting. This would be a 5 star but the staff arguing with a customer on the phone about groupon policies and then complaining about them after hanging up the phone almost tempted us to walk.We started off with a fantastic mulligatawny soup served with crisps. We followed up with sharing a Butter Paneer and Beef Vindaloo. The garlic naan was spectacular. Dessert was followed up with a Banana Pakora with vanilla ice-cream. Franky I think the Thais and the Vietnamese have this one beat hands down with the deep fried banana. The Pakora batter was a tad bit too heavy for a dessert. read more

I'm not the biggest fan of Indian food but this place is pretty good! It's totally out of my area, and since I said I'm not the biggest fan of Indian food, I don't think I would go out of my way to order it, but I would recommend it, and would have it again if someone offered it to me read more

Worst experience ever! We had a group visit Curry's for dinner and my meal was wrong and took them about 30 min to get one of three parts of my meal to me. In total it was 48 min to get my whole meal and by that time my group all had ate!! Had also asked many time for water refill and never received it. My rice I order was 1/2 the size of everyone else at my table (same rice order) when asked about it I was told I was wrong! Once all my food arrived I had asked for to go and this even took an additional 35 min to get my food so I can go! When it come time for the bill, I get my bill and the only thing she did was remove $2 for bread but also still tried to charge me for a tip!! Don't recommend this place at all! Now after spending for 2hrs in the Restaurant I will go back to my hotel room and Mike with my $40 dinner! I highly recommend not to visit this restaurant as I feel the restaurant gave very little interest in having their clients happy and food correct read more

From an Indian's point of view, in all honesty, food was below par. The decor was impressive however food was very bland and tasteless. It might be unfair to compare this restaurant to Brampton or Toronto's restaurants, however even Massey's in downtown is much better and authentic. Very disappointed and felt I wasted my money. Keep in mind this place is charging fine dining prices. Try to avoid if you want the real Indian food. read more

Went here for lunch with my boyfriend after having driven by many times. We both got the vindaloo (me veggie, him chicken) at the "hot" level, and neither one of us were impressed. The heat completely masked any flavour that might have been hiding in the dish, so it tasted pretty bland. The naan wasn't like anything I've ever had at an Indian restaurant...not bad, just not what I was expecting. On the plus side, their mango lassi and coffee were decent and the server was friendly, and the ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. I might give this place another chance with a different dish at a lower spice level in the hopes the flavour actually comes through. read more

We thought that we would go for a nice lunch today. Since we moved to London, many people have told us that Curry's is great, pricey, but great. So we thought we'd try it. This had to be the most disappointing Indian dining experience we've ever had. We ordered the lamb biriyani. I found the lamb to be tough and chewy. We also ordered the saag paneer. Very little spinach and the cheese was deep fried and had the texture of deep fried tofu, which is fine if that is what I expect to receive. The samosas were good, not great, but not terrible. The pastry was different, but a good different. What surprised me was that the owners were in the restaurant doing paperwork. We told the waitress how disappointed we were in the meal. If I owned a restaurant and I knew customers were disappointed, I would speak to them to get the feedback. So that was disappointing as well. $6.95 was removed from the bill for the tough lamb. Needless to say, we won't be going back. read more

Beautiful restaurant. Great service. Food: OK. Started us off with some free papadum. Wasn't especially fresh or flavourful. Served with a nice vibrant green mint sauce and a zesty salsa. Their specialty naan was totally unspectacular. Did not remotely "melt in your mouth" as advertised. Chicken tandoori was nicely served, prepared and cooked. Rice was bland and boring. Vegetables were fresh. Goat vandaloo was nicely spiced, just decent. Nothing was special. Pretty standard and basic Indian fare. Cute spot and delightful staff. read more

Whenever there is food at Vic Park for festivals you will find the Curry's tent there without fail. I always stop for their app mixer as I can never choose between Onion Bhaji and Samosa's. Tonight we decided to hit up Just Eat and order from Curry's. I'm finding the Just Eat site to be great but was unsure about this time... let's call it a hiccup, or perhaps just courtesy from the restaurant I am not 100% sure but 20 mins after ordering I received a call from Curry's. The lady asked if we'd ordered, confirmed order, address & price then said driver would call when he was leaving it'd be about an hour. Okay, fine... odd, but fine. Maybe not odd normally but when you go through a third party to order like Just Eat I don't expect to hear from the actual restaurant unless there is an order issue. The driver did call and we got ready for our Curry's feast. It arrived hot & fresh which was great. The smell was incredible coming from the bags as we opened them and I couldn't wait to dive in. At the door however was this strange exchange when paying where it seemed like the driver was lingering for a tip, however with the Just Eat site/app we had already worked the tip into the price which was clearly marked on our bill.... anyways... The Onion Bhaji, Samosa and Garlic Naan were all there greeting me as usual suspects. We decided to split a Tandoori Chicken as our main and ordered rice since the menu claimed none of the mains came with it. That was where things started to go amiss. Open the box and bam, chicken is there sitting on a bed of...yep, rice. So why'd I pay $5 for an addition of rice?? Anyways, the next part was the taste. Now it could have been my tastebuds today I don't know but the chicken was plump, juicy and seemingly appetizing but I couldn't get this one weird note off my tongue. Essentially it tasted the way Lush soap smells. I can't put my finger on what spice note it was throwing it all off but you can imagine after making that connection I didn't finish it. My bad though... I won't put that on them, I'm sure it was delish... but next time I'll stick with stuff I know like butter chicken. Overall would get again just would make better choices and maybe call them direct as it seemed they don't understand how Just Eat works exactly. read more

Food is great, but not enough to justify their outrageous price point. All other competitors undercut them by at least 25% on all food items. I've made butter chicken myself before, and it costs me less than what they charge. If you feel like burning not only your stomach but your wallet, then buy from here. You won't be disappointed by the food, just by the black hole in your account. read more

Had a groupon to Curry's so decided to check it out with a friend. We arrived around 6:30 on a Sunday and there were roughly 2 other tables inside. The waitress took several minutes to come take our order. We decided on the butter chicken, lamb biryani, and Susan's pakoras as an appetizer. Surprisingly, the butter chicken came with no rice or bread unless you ordered it separately for an additional cost, which I thought was weird considering its butter chicken. The appetizer was mediocre. The butter chicken was good and the biryani left much to be desired. The lamb was dry and the yogurt (also for an additional cost) was very runny. The food took a long time to come so we didn't order dessert. For two entrees, an appetizer, and waters, the meal was $50 including an already added gratuity. The food wasn't terrible but definitely wasn't worth $50. I bought two groupons and I'll likely be returning the second one. This place is okay if you're craving Indian food - I think it's the only Indian place in London although I could be wrong - but I wouldn't go here if I had other choices. read more

Do not believe that other review...this is hands down the worst Indian food in London. The food is on the pricier side and the chicken we had (in the butter chicken) tasted like rubber. What we were served was not even close to tandoori chicken, it tasted boiled chicken dipped in tandoori sauce. Give away was vegetables put on the skewers along with the chicken were raw. I've eaten at this restaurant three times, once in house, twice by delivery. The dine in experience was not excellent but still not the worst curry I've ever had - vindaloo was bland, no heat, no flavour but full of meat and potatoes so still not a complete waste and naan was good. Both delivery experiences were terrible, the second (and last) experience I called the restaurant and was refused when I asked to speak to a manager. I wrote the restaurant to express my displeasure at their quality and service (vindaloo was hard, tough chunks of meat in what could only be described as a flavourless brown gravy) and received no reply. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Over this I would always choose Curry Garden or even Taste Of India (although they have their own service issues to contend with!). read more

"Family owned business takes place in a wooden house, themed by Hindu Indian style full of brilliant contrast colours." The owners claim that it's a good place to dine-in if you are looking for a quiet romantic experience, but for me it wasn't! Restaurant's location was easy for me to find and parking was a piece of cake. Once I entered I felt that seating layouts of the dining room should be improved, since tables are quite close to each other, separated by a small transparent black chiffon curtain I could hear other guest's conversation. Stuff where not that professional she doesn't know what has to be done, for examples: she wasn't familiar with menu's special, she didn't give me much attention and she took too long to ask me about my order. I believe that waiting time was very long in comparison to the size of the restaurant and number of customers, as I waited for more than hour for mere two entree's and one appetizer. Since I am conversant with Indian cuisine, I could rate their dishes as very good, they are using a good selection of Indian spices and sauces, however, the dish was very poor as they don't serve it with rice or French fries, thus forces you to order them separately and of course pay more. Soft drink was awful, they served it in stainless steel cup which was filled up to only two third without ice and no refills. Badly, they don't offer a children's menu, so if you are accompanying your little ones then you have to order an adult meal. The restaurant was not that much clean, waitress dust the table by her hand, clean dirty tables by pouring hot water from kitchen kettle then dry it with a dry cloth was under her hand, washroom was not very hygienic. Finally at the time of payment, the waitress added 15% to the receipt as what they call it "gratuity. I don't know how did the evaluated herself and added that automatically to the bill in a impressing way that you couldn't ask her to take it off, moreover, the credit card machine asked me if I would like to pay tips! That was CREEPY. Overall, I consider it costly in comparison to the service, location food quantity and sanitation. read more
