The Oklahoma sized portions are enough for multiple meals and had really good taste. Spice was not overwhelming at 7 and as a spicy maniac, I may try 9 or 10 next time. Service was polite and the ambiance met expectations. 100+ selections to choose from so lots of option. Will be back, this place is fire

We searched for restaurants open on Thanksgiving in Oklahoma City and found this one. Based on the…read moreratings, we decided to give it a try. The place was okay, more like a takeout joint than a proper sit-down restaurant, though the lady at the front desk was very sweet. We ordered fried momos, veg chow mein, chicken biryani, papdi chaat, and a Nepali bhel-type dish. The food came out quickly, and the portions were generous, which was a plus. However, the biggest issue was the flavor. All the dishes tasted very similar, and instead of being flavorful, they were quite bland and had a bitter taste. We love spicy food, and the lady warned us that their spice level can be very high, so we chose a level 5 for all the dishes. Unfortunately, the spices seemed undercooked, which made everything taste bitter rather than spicy. I almost considered asking someone from the staff to taste it, but I didn't, since the place was busy and there were only three people working. Another thing we noticed was that when our receipt came out, it said that if we gave them a 5-star rating, they would give us a 10% discount. We weren't sure if that was appropriate. No wonder how's the rating for this place was good.

The food was delicious especially the polou rice and the paratha. The fish curry and the egg omelet was good too just that the fish curry could be a little bit less salty. The puri was also good since it was crispy but I wished it was a little bit less greasy. The inside gave off hole-in-a-wall restaurant vibes since it's small and the owner's children were helping running the store and some of them were watching TV while I was eating which means that the restaurant is most likely family owned.

I experienced the owner's cooking when she catered my cultural wedding as a small caterer. I'm soooo glad she opened up a restaurant for everyone to try her delicious food! The restaurant is cute - very clean and spacious. The family that owns the restaurant is very sweet. You can tell that the food is made with love and all the flavors you would expect from Bangladeshi food. If you've never had it, it is a different taste from Indian food, so don't expect the same for comparison. The pulao rice was delicious. It has a flavor on its own and worth mentioning to order vs a regular plate of rice. The chicken curry was amazingly tender. The gravy of the curry was present and definitely made for a yummy dish. The shami kabob was a little spicy which is exactly how I eat it, but beware! It has pieces of pepper in it. The best dish was the beef curry. Soooooo good! Truly hit home for me. I could eat that everyday and be happy. Right now they're offering a lunch and dinner special for $6.99 to try their rice, daal (lentils), and curry. Definitely worth at least coming by and trying for that price. SUPPORT LOCAL

The menu, though short, offers delightful surprises with daily specials. We savored the spicy Chili Garlic Dosa and the delectable Prawn Masala Dosa, accompanied by fresh and delicious condiments. The Chicken Korma with the Prawn Masala Dosa was a super hit. My only wish is to see South Indian salt lassi called "Mor" on the menu. The Sambhar with the Dosa was a delight, and surprisingly, despite indulging in two Dosas, I didn't experience the usual heartburn. The dosa had the perfect texture--neither too crispy nor too thick. While warm, I wished it could have been hotter. The Urad Vada from the regular menu was hot, soft, and delicious, accompanied by tasty condiments. My friend enjoyed the Filter Coffee, attesting to its goodness. Meeting Chef Uma revealed the secret behind their limited opening hours--she dedicates time to hand grind and make all the spices herself. A true display of passion, a rarity in today's commercialized world. Despite wishing for their success, my only hope is that Uma's passion remains untainted by business pressures. The modern decor, LED lights, and spacious, comfortable seating create a pleasant ambiance. Parking is adequate, though not ample. In conclusion, Chennai Central Cafe is a gem in OKC, an experience that shouldn't be missed.

We also tried the chapati and korma which was excellent. The chapati was thin and tasty. I loved my cardamom chai Bobba lovely mixture of flavors. The only con is the portion sizes and prices. The portions are a bit small and the it is a bit pricey for the size. All of the waiters were very nice and helpful with everything. I loved the atmosphere as well it had a fancy feel high is perfect for an evening meal.

I think if they had better signage and people understood what was there then that would be really helpful. They only had one other table besides ours during the time we were there and we were there during dinner hour. The server was very gracious to answer all of our questions as a lot of the foods we were not familiar with. I really enjoy the appetizer. It's fried veggies with a chickpea batter. At the moment, I'm avoiding gluten and some other intolerances I have so it is nice to have something that I could eat on the menu. I had the beef curry with zero spice. It does have a natural spice to it already so if you can't handle any spice you might not want to choose a curry. But it was very flavorful and rich. My favorite, which I did splurge a little bit on gluten was their homemade garlic butter, naan bread. It was absolutely amazing. My friend had the biryani with the Panera that is basically a dairy made large cheese curd kind of like cottage cheese. And then she added vegetables. They were very accommodating to make it the way she wanted and she really enjoyed it. The service was great. We plan to go back.
