Food was simple, buffet style, very homey... stuff my mom would make every day and feed me... nothing fancy and elaborate. Had a good mix: 3 meat dishes, 3 veggie dishes, yoghurt sauce, salad, a plum sauce (or mango?... either way had not had it in ages), bread and 2 desserts. Place was full... seemed like all students. Definitely should go if you get a chance... I am certainly glad I had heard of it and got the chance to experience the place. Food might not be the greatest but was still pretty decent; and in the overall scheme of things it's about the thought in my mind and not about the food (in this one instance!).

The leaders in this project are from Afghanistan but the food spans from Turkey and Syria to India and Pakistan crossing Iran and Afghanistan. Though you can stay within the culinary creations of just one country, you can also mix and match .... which is of course what I did. My friend partook mostly of Syrian dishes while I enjoyed Iranian, Afghan, Indian, and Pakistani. The Afghan bolani to start off the feast were excellent - especially with the very spicy and equally tasty chutney accompaniment. My main plate had three distinct dishes - Qorma, Sabzi palak, and Biryani. Each was as tasty as the other. Service was super friendly, the restaurant is very attractive inside, and the prices are ridiculously low....a winning combo!! Unfortunately few people know about this new eatery and they don't have an advertising budget so word of mouth has to spread the news of its existence. I know of it because it is literally just around the corner from where I live. I truly wish more people would discover the Peace Kitchen so it can thrive in today's world and help spread the good will from many lands joyfully shared over tasty food and drink. 10/10 Experience! To…read morestart the ambience was so nice and cozy. We walked in on a cold day and were seated right away. The service was friendly and helpful. We got a naan, vegetable, raita, and daal saag and it was all delicious! All the flavors felt like home and the naan was one of the best I have ever had. Portion sizes were great as well. We ended the dinner with a nice cup of chai. We visited from Texas but if we are ever in Austria, we will be back!

It turned out to be one of the best meals we've had in Vienna. The service was friendly and English menus were available. Each of dishes was delicious with nice portions. I found it interesting that Indian food happened to be one of the best meals I had in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.
