They let you sample different apples. All of the vendors are so kind, friendly, and helpful. I love supporting these local farmers. I always end up with something I wasn't planning on getting. This time I got some delicious pumpkin honey and I came home with a few white and pastel pumpkins, they were too pretty to pass up. I typically try to arrive just before 8am. I like to make sure I can get some bread from Madison Sourdough before they sell out. The parking is really easy and nice that you can park so close so you can make trips to your car if needed. I really enjoy this farmers market because they have many vendors but it's never too crowded and has a nice neighborhood farmers market vibe. There aren't tons of tourists like the downtown market, it's all locals. Highly recommend!

It's also located near lots of coffee shops and breakfast places, so if you're needing a pick me up, there's lots of places to choose from! All of the vendors were super friendly and most offered different forms of payment (cash, card, venmo). There were some vendors who only accepted cash, however, there's several ATM's across the street!

The market is fully around the four sides of the capitol building as well as another off branch down a street for artisan goods. It was nice to see so many local vendors from all throughout Wisconsin. The variety of products being sold was impressive; from baked goods, breads, flowers, produce, honey, sauces, meats, popcorn, sweet treats, and no shortage of cheeses! It took us about 75 minutes to fully walk and enjoy the market. I could not recommend this market more to anyone visiting Madison! Gorgeous wedding venue!…read more Whew...I had to get that out of the way so you would know why in the world I was reviewing a farm in Rockton, IL. We visited this past weekend for one of the most lovely weddings that I have ever been to as a guest. The grounds are immaculate! There was ample parking for the guests (although this was a non-issue as many of the guests took shuttle buses). The staff was unobtrusive and very polite the entire evening. So I'll take you through a few of the finer points. The ceremony was held high on the hill. We rode in a tram (sorta like at the zoo) pulled by a John Deere. Wanna know what I call that? Awesome! This was the perfect start to our grand adventure. At the top of the hill, the ceremony site was setup beautifully! Now, I think the bride and groom had a lot to do with that based on their customIzed backdrop, outdoor chandelier(!) and vintage doors that the wedding party walked through as they came down the aisle. Regardless, it was so picturesque. After the ceremony we walked down the side of the hill. This wasn't the best move for those in heels after two hours of rain a bit earlier in the day, but there were no injuries to speak of, so it was still pretty successful. As we walked down, we were treated to a view of a gorgeous pond and water fountain. At the foot of the hill, we spent our cocktail hour inside and outside at the back of the building. This was much nicer than I have just made it sound. There were tables set up for those who wished to sit outside and there were tables setup inside and out for those who wished to stand and mingle. The live music was setup right inside the sliding doors, so everyone could enjoy the full effect of the music no matter where they were. The bar was setup inside for easy access. Both an appetizer buffet and butler passed appetizers were available for munching. Now, I think all of the food was catered by the Hoffman House, but just in case I am wrong, I want to make sure to mention how delicious all of the appetizers were. The bacon wrapped water chestnuts were probably my favorite option that was available. After the cocktail hour, we went around to the front of the building to pick up our placecard and enter the main portion of the building. Gorgeous dark wood all around made the entire experience feel rich and luxurious. I loved it! A full bar was setup just inside the door. I think there were about fifteen tables of ten setup. I would guesstimate that they could probably fit twenty to twenty-two tables in this space easily. Maybe more if they used the space toward the back of the building. Buffet lines were setup on both sides of the building. The head table had perfect placement and really took center stage as it should! They have sliding glass doors on three sides of the building (which I think was a restored barn) which made for some beautiful lighting as the sun went down. As the night wore on, the doors were opened for the most amazing cross breeze. Overall, this was a fabulous site for a wedding ceremony and reception. I have no idea how the planning went or the costs involved, but as a guest, I would graciously accept an invitation to an event here again without hesitation. It was truly a night made in heaven and the atmosphere was ideal!

It's not a huge venue so on packed days parking may take you a few blocks away but it is a nice walk. Also sometimes seating can be tricky to find if you need to sit to eat, so if you do and you see a spot, don't let it pass you by! There is even a water feature the kiddos play in which was pretty cute to watch. Overall a fun way to spend a few hours on Fridays, getting a wide variety of food and drinks and listening to local musicians. Definitely worth a stop if you happen to be in the area on a Friday night in the warmer months.

From what I gathered, the booths change through out the season; some are only there for certain days while others for the entire show. That can be good or bad. If you find a place you like they may not be there the next week, but there may be something you like more! Plus the entertainment changes every week. This week while there we bought beer, a necklace and earrings for my wife, candied nuts, beer, peaches, pet odor eliminate candles, beer, sweet corn, Bleu cheese, a 5 gallon bucket, beer (not a 5 gallon bucket of beer!) some food and just had a good time. We even were able to take our son over to the permanent cooling off fountain the city has where he and the other kids can play in it while the parents watched. It was a good time. We killed 2 hours here just hanging out. Parking is a little difficult. There is a lot of public parking, but it was full by the time we arrived and ended up having to park in the public lot over by the Metro Center. This isn't a bad walk, nice scenic view crossing the State Street bridge over the mighty Rock River. If you go, bring cash. Some places might take cards or checks, but it seemed mostly to be a cash only arrangement.

My two favorites are the kettle corn and corn on the cob. I would say there was 20-25 vendors on Wall Street, ranging from handmade soap to home grown squash. Market is open Saturday mornings from 8am-1pm. Vendors came from all around the area from cities such as Monroe, Milton, Edgerton, and Bardstown. This is by no means an all day event. We probably spent 20-25 minutes and looked at nearly every vendor, stopping for a quick talk. Nearby the market are my two favorite restaurants in Janesville, Cozy Inn ( Oldest Chinese restaurant in Wisconsin) and O'Riley & Conway's Irish Pub. If you are in the Janesville area, it might be worth a stop!

What I like about it as far as farmers markets go, it all seems to be local vendors. Local as within a 60 or so mile radius. I also like that there's more than fruits and veggies. There was a pierogis vendor, a taco or quesadilla vendor, and a bakery vendor. There's honey, soaps, (which are very monitoring and smell good) as well as very fresh breads and of course lots of veggie and fruit(apples in Fall) choices. I also like that there's a Tues and Sat with Tuesday obviously being less crowded. Usually parking can be found easily if you are not there at too peak of times and it's not too big or small that it feels crowded and takes forever to get in and out of, like some. As I said it's my favorite.
