As a QTBIPOC I can't help but wonder if this is typical Karen behaviour. This is especially so based on comment about textured hair. Called to talk to the salon about my hair and one of their main stylists gives me her PERSONAL instagram (not the salons page) to send her images and walk through whats possible. The manager calls me up a few days later and books me in. I walk in and I have a junior stylist not even on their website who does a terrible job and is visibly uncomfortable by curly hair the entire time (also upon looking her up online after... was still practising on straight haired dolls only a few months prior). I sent a message to manager the next day to talk through what happened - and the manager begins to get hostile and tell me her stylist was sad i was unhappy ... does not offer to fix it. After some back and forth agrees to a refund, then has her entire staff block me off of instagram. Incredibly unprofessional.

To say that I was hesitant is an under statement. At first I couldn't find the salon because it's actually called Jacobs hair salon. I had booked an appointment with Sara, I explained to Sara what cut I wanted sadly she wasn't able to give me that cut due to my hair being straight on top and curly mid scalp. I wanted to bring out as many of my curls out as possible (I love my curls) So Sara went to work in the most unconventional way that I have ever experienced (it was new to me) I don't think Sara used a comb or a brush, she started cutting and I had my fingers crossed under the cape. Long story short, I LOVED what Sara had done to my hair, exactly what I had asked for. I left super happy, I didn't want to write a review until I had been able to style my own hair. I will be back for sure, maybe sooner than later because I want bangs to go with this great cut.

I made a reservation here because my hair is wavy/curly and I find that the average men's barber shop always cuts it too short. Wanted to try something different and saw this place specializes in curls. I waited about 5 mins after arriving before I got in a chair. My stylist, Sara, did a great job. I showed her a photo and I really don't think she could have matched it any closer. She was kind and attentive throughout the process and made sure things were going in the desired direction. Super pleased with the results. I will definitely be back.

So I saw a Groupon and some great reviews for this salon and went ahead to book an appointment. The salon is clean, easy to find, very open and well lit. You immediately feel comfortable. My stylist was the lovely Marjorie, the sweetest Irish girl you'll ever meet. She took time to discuss my hair and what I wanted and she made sure I was comfortable with everything at every step of the way. She even happily took photos for my before and afters!! I ended up cutting over 14 inches for Locks of Love and thanks to Marjorie, was completely comfortable and very very happy with the cut. She gave me choices and suggestions and wasn't afraid to let me know when something else would work better than what I had in mind. She's experienced and also wonderful company. I would recommend her for everyone!! I am now happily rockin my new style and the best part is that I love it because Marjorie took the time to make sure of everything before taking the scissors to the hair! This place is definitely not one of those places that discuss you or rush you away because you have a Groupon. For students like myself, it's a financial relief to find such a great caring place at such a reasonable price, but please tip your stylist well! :) they really deserve it here!

It's worth mentioning that the vibe of this salon is one of the best I've experienced. Everyone I spoke with was friendly, you feel welcomed coming in, clients seem at ease and happy. Between that, the awesome student pricing option, and the fabulous cuts - 5 stars!

My appointment starts on time. As soon as I enter and register, I'm taken around back to start my hair. I'm not sitting waiting for my stylist for 45 minutes nor am I waiting between services. I've once had my hair air dry while waiting for someone to be free to blow dry it. This DOESN'T happen at Azan's. 2. I don't spend all day at the salon. I can actually plan other appointments/events for my day. 3. They don't charge black market kidney prices. My wallet is not as badly affected and they have special pricing for students. 4. My hair has never been healthier. I relax my hair and using chemicals strips it of natural moisture, usually causing it to break and appear like it's not growing. However, my stylist, Karin, really takes care of my hair. I know I'm in good hands and it shows...right there on my head! For these reasons, I keep going back to Azan's.

Our appointment was for 11 am but at 1030, Amanda text us that Bella was stuck on a GO Bus and wouldn't be able to start until 1130. I explained this to Amanda, and she said if I could get there soon, she would cut my daughter's hair. The salon opens at 11, but Amanda started with us at 1045. The level of customer service was unreal. Friendly, accommodating, apologetic and I got what I came there for - a sophisticated haircut for my daughter that wasn't just a "who cares you're a kid" cut. The salon is beautiful inside, the sparkling lights about the hair washing station was a nice touch. At the very end, Bella did show up and she seemed nice as well, but Amanda really came through for us. We will be back!!
