My parents have taken up curling as a new hobby over at CurlVegas and I dropped by here to watch them. This is Las Vegas' only curling club and I didn't even know they had one until they began this hobby. For those of you who don't know what curling is, it is a sport similar to shuffleboard, where you slide a stone on ice towards a target with four different circles. Though curling was first established in Scotland, it has attracted more popularity in Canada as the centuries have passed. This is also played in the Winter Olympics every four years. Located in an office space complex off Sunset and Pecos, they practice every Friday night, beginning at 6:30pm and ending at 8:00pm, with three other people being in their group. Sitting in front of the ice felt like watching the Golden Knights games, but the inside temperature overall wasn't all that bad. They have a separate break/waiting room away from the ice if it starts getting too chilly. Curling is not as easy as it looks. It takes a lot of hard work and effort with all that sweeping on the ice. My dad told me that he threw and swept about 15 stones during last practice and couldn't get any of them in the targets. This finally happened, though, and I got to witness it! I would like to join them at one point, but at the same time, I'm too nervous because I always worry that I may slip and fall on the ice. When their instructor asked me if I was going to sign up, I said this same exact thing to him. It was fun watching curling in person! They've been doing a great job so far, and maybe they'll grab a spot in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. We'll see!

Had a great time at my first try of Curling at CurlVegas yesterday. We had reservations for a group of 18 with two dedicated sheets (lanes). Check in at the reception was smooth and Luann had a great personality and offered us drinks for purchase at the snack area with plenty of alcoholic and non alcoholic options. The team members walked us through what to expect inside and then walked us through the techniques when we got onto the ice. The sport is good fun and the grippers for your shoes definitely help to stabilize your footing on the ice. Curling looks easy but when trying it was definitely a learning curve and after the first few throws it gets a little easier. Brad tallied up our scores and presented the winners in a fun fashion. Overall would highly recommend and would give the team members kuddos for all their hard work!

Came for a family reunion with 40 people of varying ages and it was SO FUN! The instructors were awesome (especially Karla) and the learning pace was perfect to feel like we were progressing but never bored. The groups were only 4-5 per instructor so it made for a fun tournament after the lesson. They even did awards at the end. Perfect for big groups, team building and fun competition.

The coolest game in town! CurlVegas just opened Southern Nevada's first and only dedicated curling ice in April 2024! Friendly people, great facility, and an easy to learn game of curling! Learn To Curl, Next Steps lessons, beginner and weekly leagues mean that whatever your skill level, you'll find a spot at CurlVegas! Good curling!

This place is an absolute blast! The two staff members who taught our class were so nice and funny too! They were super great teachers and made learning the sport fun and easy. My family of four had so much fun. The class was worth it and wasn't too pricy for a Vegas activity. Honestly just so much fun- and such a unique thing to do!

A group of friends and I tried a curling lesson, we thought it would be a fun outing and it was wonderful. We had such a blast! Our coach Brad was very patient with our silly group and fun to be around. There was a lady assisting him and she captured so many great photos of our group! Our lesson was for a few hours and we learned so much and accomplished a lot. There were other players on the ice who where part of the curling club so we got to watch the professionals, that was a lot of fun. Everyone on the ice was so nice and supportive. It was an awesome experience. Tips if you go: Be prepared to work up a sweat. Wear some thermal socks (my toes were so cold). Wear layers because you will start shedding clothes.

Farrar Wedding 2025…read more Absolutely an experience! We had our wedding event here on July 19, 2025. From the moment we sat down with David to discuss what we wanted, he was incredibly understanding of our budget and knew exactly how to make our day as beautiful as I imagined! Everything was beyond exceptional--our guests loved the venue and couldn't stop talking about how amazing everything and everyone was. I always have and will continue to recommend Factory of Dreams and/or Skyview Banquet Hall to anyone looking for a venue! That said, we did experience a few hiccups during the planning process. Communication with Chef Francisco G. wasn't the best--he wasn't timely in responding, which caused some stress. However, the food turned out good on the day of the event, though I was surprised and a bit disappointed that the kids were served Little Caesars pizza. As for Irma, who I was told was the event coordinator--she was very sweet and helpful in the beginning. But when it came time for the wedding rehearsal, I was told I had to find my own coordinator. This was frustrating because I had gone over all the event timing with her, so I assumed she would be the one handling it. If I needed to bring in someone else, I wish I had been told upfront--it would have saved some last-minute stress before my big day. And id also like to give a big thanks to the Bakery used Cakes Las Vegas so good with the flavors my husband does not like sweets but he did enjoy your cake. In an email later, Ashley informs us it's "Force Majeure" and that it would be impractical and impossible for the venue to host our wedding. After I spent about 15 minutes laughing at a non attorney explaining the law to the two of us (two attorneys)and that too incorrectly... I proceeded to freak out. This is bad business and we have been told they are looking to sell the business. I for one will be keeping an eye on this corporation and the officers involved. NO bride and groom should have to go through this while planning their wedding and the damage caused emotionally and financially is unforgivable. Get an ACTUAL attorney to do your work instead of a sales girl hired by daddy. Bad business practice that will follow them.

She was organized, calm, and on top of every detail. She made the entire process feel easy and stress free. On the wedding day, everything ran smoothly because of her and DJ Syd. Perhaps best of all, is the fact that we weren't nickel and dimed. Their pricing was up front and truly turnkey. The value for our money was amazing. If you are looking for a wedding venue in Las Vegas, this is the place. The Side Yard exceeded our expectations in every way. We could not have asked for a better experience.

This venue feels like a hidden garden oasis in Las Vegas, set on a private four-acre property with lush landscaping, charming walkways, and thoughtfully designed spaces for ceremonies and receptions. The venue & atmosphere: During the day, the gardens are elegant and romantic--but at night, they become absolutely magical. White string lights glow throughout the lush gardens and trees, creating the most dreamy, fairytale-like atmosphere. It felt intimate, cozy, and incredibly beautiful--perfect for evening photos and a romantic reception vibe. Ceremony & reception flow: The ceremony space/chapel was classic and romantic, and the transition from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception was seamless. Their banquet rooms are versatile and well laid out, so nothing felt rushed or awkward. You can tell this venue is designed specifically for weddings and special events. All-inclusive convenience: Sunset Gardens is an all-inclusive venue, and it truly shows in the execution. Their packages bundle catering, cake, DJ, photography, and coordination, which minimizes stress for couples. As a guest, everything felt organized, polished, and professionally managed from start to finish. The food (10/10): The food exceeded expectations--wedding food done right. The buffet offered a great variety, and every dish was 5/5 delicious: * Prime rib (tender, flavorful, and one of the standout dishes) * Shrimp scampi * Skirt steak with chimichurri * Wild rice pilaf * Roasted Brussels sprouts with mushrooms * Caesar salad Everything was well-seasoned and thoughtfully prepared, but the prime rib and Brussels sprouts were absolute highlights--so good that many guests went back for seconds. Staff & service: The staff was attentive, professional, and clearly experienced with weddings. The entire event ran smoothly and on time, allowing guests--and most importantly the couple--to fully enjoy the celebration. Overall: If you're looking for a romantic, garden-style, all-inclusive wedding venue in Las Vegas, Sunset Gardens is an excellent choice. Everything looked so perfect. The colors were great!! The curtains that hung from the ceiling have lights all in them & when it gets dark inside & they turn them on it was soooooo pretty!! The guest of honor was able to arrive at the top of a staircase inside & walk down that stairs. There is also is a little room off to the side where they set up a photo booth. There was a young lady who was introducing the guest, her court & other guests. When the speaker announced it was time to eat & that she would call one table at a time I had NO idea where the buffet was. I thought it was going to be a long table of food but it was inside this little room. There were 2 servers & there was a little bit of a wait. It would of been nice if they supplied butter for the bread & plain spaghetti along with some black pepper. There was no salt & pepper shakers to be found. I was a little bummed not to see any seltzers or sliced lemons at the bar. Also it would of been nice to know it was a CASH ONLY BAR. I talked with my friend & she said she wasn't even aware it was cash only. That is something that the owners may want to tell their guest when they are looking to book this hall. I don't carry much cash on me & they were charging $10 for a Tito's. The girl also announced after they were done serving the food it would still be available for guests & just to let them know. I was actually hungry & could have gone for seconds but never saw anyone to ask. My friend arrived after the food was served with her 2 kids and no one came over to her. The staff was very, very slow to come pick up dirty dishes off the tables. I was not impressed by this. No one came to see if we needed our water pitches refilled. My empty drink cup sat on the table the whole night. I did like how they had a water bubbler next to the bar with cups to serve yourself water. It was pretty sad how the staff demolished the cake while cutting it. The pieces were all different sizes & just a hot mess at the end. See photo. They did a beautiful job on the setup & decorations but the staff definitely needs some improvement on taking care of the guests dirty dishes & checking on everyone. Due to this I'm giving this place a 4 star review.
