If you are lucky enough to read the McHenry Masonry reviews when you start investigating…read morebrick/stone/concrete contractors, you will likely save yourself a lot of time and quite possibly money. You'll notice lots of happy customers! That's what I did when my concrete chimney crown cracked to the point where any rain event would make it's way into the ceiling of my home. As many other reviews have stated, they believed their job was too small to be of interest to any mason, including the McHenry team. Andre seems to be very adept at not only fitting his job review and estimates into very busy and fully scheduled work days, but also the actual work. Very attentive to the needs of his customer(s), and at what I deemed a very fair price. Andre didn't send a team of workers for a one-man job, rather, Grayson arrived, had been fully briefed on what needed to be done, and got right to work. He was able to remove the old/cracked crown, replace it with new concrete, remove the old flashing caulk and re-caulk with quality polyurethane product in a couple of late day visits. I was impressed with how quickly Grayson finished the job, especially from scaffolding he brought up to my roof. These guys have a ton of energy, answer questions with patience, and smile the entire time. Felt like they were trying to impress me and earn my future business, which I really appreciate in a contractor. You'll want to keep their contact information and call McHenry for ALL your masonry jobs. Very impressed with my experience and so glad I called Andre!

The workmanship is excellent--the aggregate exposure is consistent, the edges and steps are crisp, and the curves and transitions were beautifully done. The new concrete also blends remarkably well with the existing exposed-aggregate steps at the house, which was important to us. The crew clearly took pride in the details, kept the project organized, and left everything looking great when they were finished. We're extremely happy with the result and would absolutely recommend Hage Concrete Works to anyone looking for high-quality concrete work.

He gave me his expert opinion on what to do with our existing concrete, as well as how it would fit into our future plans of a three season porch addition. I had three contractors set up to come do an estimate before Glenn left my home! He and his crew were…read moreat our house when he said he would be there, which I appreciated, and got to task clearing the space, and putting in forms, etc. Glenn had some interesting ideas that were very helpful in figuring out how to design the patio. It was an odd space and he was able to "eyeball" it and recommend several options prior to getting started. Every attention to detail was given. Our patio was poured and it had a nice slope draining water away from the house with some nice flowing lines to accentuate the space. The patio has been in for several years now and it still looks terrific -- no cracks, no problems. We love it! The clean-up afterwards was done in a timely manner and everything was hauled away with no mess or fuss. Our home was left in tip-top shape! When I called Glenn the other day re another project, he was telling us he had gotten his General Contractor's License. So early June we are having him help with our kitchen and laundry room, taking out old countertops, putting in new sinks and plumbing fixtures and tiling the backsplash areas above the countertop. What I like about Glenn is he's a straight shooter. He doesn't dance around your questions and his pricing is always good. He's a very reliable, hard working guy. I trust him. He's top-notch!
