i remember when i first saw the cupcake cafe i was curious as i stalked by curious and terrified at the same time oh the fear, the fear the sugar addict in me was screaming do it !!! do it!!! eat them out of house and home!!! eat all that wickedly delightful sugar til you pop!!! i tried to resist nooooo, once i let the beast out then god knows what the monster might become!!! and then i found myself, like in a dream, munching down on my first cupcake!!! what was i doing??? for the love of all things holy, nooooo i was out of control and pounding down that awesome sweetness like a junky in a junk yard!!! however i quickly discovered upon the 2059 cupcake that i had infact died sugar poisoning but the ungodly sugar feind of my soul continued scoffing down the cakes, brownies and mountain dew by the gallon!!! it was dooms day and i was the satan of sugar!!! i soon ate even the owners of the cafe, when what looked like someone dressed as the ghost-busters lept out from behind the counter and yelled your time is up slime ball, youre no marshmellow man, but you still make me sick!!! he then opened fire i was not afraid, i was a burnig ball of supernatural sugarery madness!!! no human could stop my demon quest to eat the world right in two like a great big wod of cookie doe but instead of some nuclear powerd energy-beam blasting forth from his gun like device instead a condensed mix of whipped cream, cupcake icing and all-things-nice struck me down with the power of the dark-side!!! i screamed like a pig in heat!!! lashing about in demented hysteria, i was forced agaisnt my infernal will to swallow all that that weapon of massive-tongue-smashing-destruction could muster!!! at first i liked it then i loved it then i was a bit sleepy then i really loved it then i was a wee confused then i giggled a little then i was worried then i was screaming like a headless chicken, even though headless chickens cant scream as they dont have a head to scream with and then like a bolt of lightning out my ass the entire universe ripped itself a new nipple and i was born again born again as a very small plast baby dear i now live happly in this new universe in the display case at the cupcake cafe i think this my hell i smell the creamy goodness day long, but i cant move, im plastic so it makes you ask the question if im made of plastic, how the hell can i still smell those dreamy cupcakes of chaos??? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm so to define the cafe cupcake: it's so good, its evil!!! bruce. read more

Dear Cupcake Berlin, I have been a devoted and passionate advocate for your baked delicacies for as long as man has walked the face of Earth. Perhaps unsurprisingly so, considering that the scrumptious cupcakes you produce are nearly as beautifully styled as your adorable sales crew. To walk past the pink signboard above your pastry shop on Krossener Straße and not buy anything is a challenge I may never beat no matter how hard I try to resist the call of the cupcake. That said, I am afraid I have a minor complaint. Being a sucker for anything Oreo related as I am, I have been trying hard to get a taste of your Cookies 'n' Cream flavored cupcakes for the last six weeks or so. You might think this should be easy as pie to accomplish but let me tell you, I have never been faced with a more daunting task. Allow me to explain. Despite my constant craving for Oreos I am an even bigger sucker for peanut butter and anything that contains it, which has now proven to be a major obstacle to successfully purchasing even one single Cookies 'n' Cream flavored cupcake. You see, whenever I walk into your shop with the aforementioned intention, I am promptly greeted by The King your internationally celebrated chocolate muffin lovingly crowned with a peanut buttery cream topping, finished with ground roasted peanuts. They usually come in packs of five or more and as I stand there outnumbered I can feel Their gaze and hear Them whisper, Thou shalt be faithful to thy King! No matter how much I try to interrupt The King's eerie spell and focus on my target, I always end up pointing at the party of peanut butter cupcakes and leaving the shop with a mixed feeling of sheer delight and utter defeat. For quite a while now, this predicament has been keeping me from getting a good night's sleep, which is why I have come to write this letter and ask for your help. Wer kein Bock auf Süßes hat, Finger weg. Es wäre eine Verschwendung. Ansonsten, macht euch bereit für ein Gaumenschmaus, welches gleichzeitig auch eine Augenweide ist. Eine kurze Lektion in Sachen Ami-Gebäck, weil Einigen das irgendwie nicht klar scheint: Muffins sind in ihren Ursprung eine Frühstücksgeschichte, so abartig wie das für die deftigen Deutschen klingen mag. Sie sind auch ohne Buttercreme. Cupcakes sind ein Nachtisch. Eine Süßspeise. MIT Buttercreme. 2 Verschiedene Dinger, ähnliche Form. Auch zum Thema Authentizität: sie schmecken wie sie schmecken sollen. Wirklich. Meine Mutter kann backen wie eine Bessessene, und die Cupcakes die man hier findet sind genauso gut. OK folks, get real with issues of culturally-induced tastes. I'm one of those Americans who likes mildly sweetened German baked goods, finds true Sachertorte with Schlagobers in Vienna a delight, knows the difference between a cupcake and a muffin, can delight in well-made US treats, and can't understand why so many Germans complain, sometimes without even tasting a particular item, that American cakes, etc., are too sweet. Come on folks, have you considered those fondant eggs that are sold by the ton here at Easter? My fillings hurt if I dare to bite into one of those beasts. I once saw a pseudo-documentary on German TV about the brownie. A German baker swore that Germans don't like the rather gooey version of the American brownie, so he had to adapt the recipe. Turned it into a rather dry-looking, overly risen German cake. Not a brownie at all. Funny thing, though, the Germans in my office devour wonderfully gooey sticky-sweet brownies when someone (German, US, or Canadian) brings them as a birthday treat. I haven't been to cupcake yet. ich bin 1-2 mal die woche beim cupcake und sehr zufriedene kundin! besonders gern mag ich die veganen varianten! die kommentare bezüglich des geschmacks kann ich nicht ganz nachvollziehen. natürlich lässt sich über geschmack streiten, aber wer kann schon behaupten zu wissen, wie cupcakes schmecken müssen - es gibt nicht DEN CUPCAKE! sicher schmecken sie auch dort wo sie herkommen überall anders - denn es gibt immer die ein oder andere "geheimzutat", so dass die cupcakes schmecken "wie bei mutti" :-) was das cupcake anbietet ist qualitativ und optisch sehr ansprechend. und wer's nicht süß mag geht halt zum guten alten bäcker! einige angestellte scheinen manchmal wirklich ein wenig gestresst - daran könnte man vielleicht noch arbeiten. aber alles in allem fühlte ich mich immer gut bedient. service ist natürlich das a und o - aber manch ein kunde sollte viell. bedenken: wie's in den wald hineinruft, so schallt es wieder heraus! ich bin sehr froh, dass es das cupcake gibt! da hat jemand seinen traum und den vieler leckermäuler in berlin wahr werden lassen! read more

War am Sonntag bei CUPKAKE und muss sagen, dass es echt Nice war! Habe eben noch den Eintrag meines vorherigen Bewerters gelesen und muss den Kopf schütteln, bzw. sagen dass ich super nett bedient wurde! hatte so ein ähnliches Problem, doch mich klärte die echt nette Bedienug darüber auf, das in der einen Ablage nur der Präsentations_kuchen steh usw!Denke mal, dass der nicht der gleichen frische entspricht wie der Verkaufs-Kuchen! Nachdem ich mehrmals an dem kleinen Laden vorbeigegangen war, und neugierig durch das Schaufenster das Treiben da drin beobachtet hatte, bin ich vor Kurzem zum ersten Mal reingegangen. Die Einrichtung ist ein bisschen kitischig, aber dennoch mit viel Geschmack zusammengestellt. Am Tresen sind lecker aussehende Pralinen und Cupcakes ausgestellt. Die Bedienung war schnell, sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, nicht nur zu uns, sondern zu allen anderen Gästen. Die Cupcakes waren super lecker und der Kaffee ein Genuss. Dabei war das ganze überhaupt nicht teuer, diese Qualität findet man zu diesen günstigen Preisen nur sehr selten. Ich werde das Cupcake bestimmt noch mal besuchen, um die tollen Leckereien und das gemütliche Ambiente erneut zu erleben. read more

Bei uns in der Firma gab es eines Nachmittags zwei Kisten mit Cupcakes. Die Dinger sehen riesig aus und ich habe auch tatsächlich zwei verdrückt (danach wars mir natürlich schlecht). Die Cupcakes sind wirklich lecker, toller Kuchen, leckere Cremes. Die Geschmacksrichtungen (z.B. mit Pfefferminz oder Erdnussbutter) sind auch recht einfallsreich. Im Cupcake-Laden war ich seitdem auch zwei Mal. Der tättowierte Chef und die Mädels bedienen immer sehr freundlich und packen auch die Cupcakes sehr nett ein. Die Preise sind noch ok (für Fhain natürlich nicht ganz günstig), das Ambiente eher karg (aber ich gehe auch nicht dort hin, um stundenlang rum zu hocken). Daher: 4 von 5 Sternen. read more

Nachdem wir zu Abend gegessen haben, hatten wir noch Lust auf was Süßes. Und was bietet sich da mehr an als ein Cupcake?! Leider waren wir schon ziemlich spät dran und in der Ablage lag nichts mehr da sie gerade geputzt wurde. Auf Nachfrage haben wir dann aber doch noch jeder einen Cupcake bekommen, der dann aus der Küche kam. Die Verkäuferin war sehr nett und hat sie uns noch schön in einen Karton eingepackt. Die Cupcakes waren sehr lecker! Der Teig schön locker und fluffig, die Creme fest, buttrig und auch nicht zu süß. Słyszałam wiele o cupcakes na Friedrichshainie i wielokrotnie przechodziłam obok tej małej kawiarenki, ale dopiero dzisiaj nadszedł dzień ich zjedzenia. Był to sobotni deser - dwie babeczki - jedna z masą czekoladową, a druga o smaku ciastek orero, w sumie też czekoldawa. Cupcake to muffin, który na górze ma megasłodką masę tak jak masa tortowa. I jest ona naprawdę słodka i pyszna. Gorzej z muffinem, rozczarowałam się bo był trochę słony. W sumie to nie wiem czy pójdę tam jeszcze raz. Pakowane są fajnie, w białe tekturowe pudełka. Ive even formed friendships with some of the employees. They have a chill family vibe. Always happy when I come here. Service is always polite and friendly, prices are fair and they offer plenty of options for people with gluten/lactose intolerances etc. The cupcakes are fantastic, although my favourite would have to be the brownies. Coffee is really fairly priced- 1.50 for a small. Also offers a small selection of American import snacks which is another plus for me. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and craving something sweet. Also offers free wifi and a nice atmosphere! Great for afternoon coffee. read more

Guter Ladensuper Personal. Dafür lohnt die regelmäßige lange Reise aus Moabit ;-D Preise sind nicht günstig aber angemessen, wenn man überlegt, dass hier alles selbstgemacht wird. Die Buttercreme wird auch nicht draufgeschmiert sondern dekorativ hindrapiert. Ich persönlich steh gar nicht sooo auf Cupcakes, abgesehen vielleicht vom The King, aber der New York Cheesecake und die Brownie in veganer und nicht veganer Form sind der Burner u nd Grund, warum ich immer wieder komme. Aber leider sind Cupcakes nicht ganz meine Sache (sie sind für meinen Gaumen wirklich zu süß) und die Preise sind eher hoch, dafür ziehe ich einen subjektiven Stern ab. Ich LIEBE diesen Cupcake-Laden. Die haben nämlich auch eine super Auswahl an veganen Leckerbissen und einen extrem leckere Vanille-Sojamilch-Malzkaffee. Kleiner netter Laden ohne viel Schnicknack. Gute Auswahl verschiedener Kaffee- und Teespezialitäten. Wer den kleinen Kuchenzwerg mit Zuckerguss und mind. 1000 cal mag ist hier richtig. Leider kommt die Bedienung wenn es voll ist nicht mit dem abräumen der Tische hinterher, und die Gäste bringen das Geschirr sowieso nicht zurück.
