I live in Canada and managed the work remotely by phone, text, and email, after meeting him in person right at the start of the job. I contracted with Kelly after speaking with several other candidate electricians, because he was super communicative and responsive, explained his process and thinking clearly and thoroughly, and had long and broad experience with electrical panel replacement and upgrade projects throughout the SF Bay Area and up and down California. This was Kelly's first project in Palo Alto, and he was persistent and conscientious when navigating all the hoops and roadblocks thrown in his path by the City of Palo Alto permitting and engineering department, which seems to have a very different (and shockingly inefficient and painful) approach from other surrounding municipalities. He collaborated with me when needed to follow up and push things through the City of Palo Alto, and frankly after my own experiences with them, I'm even more impressed with Kelly's perseverance and patience in doing what was needed to get the job done. My mom's live-in caregiver also gave Kelly rave reviews, saying he was always kind and gentlemanly whenever he visited to carry out tasks for the panel replacement job. Kelly did careful and neat work, and the new, upgraded panel works well and looks good and very professionally built. And the quote we received once the full scope of work became clear was honored throughout the project, even though I know Kelly put in a lot of extra hours driving around and haunting the halls of the City of Palo Alto to get all the right paperwork put together and finalized and signed off. Sticking to the original quote speaks to his integrity. I have been remodeling a rental property and at every turn, there has been misc issues (mostly…read morebecause it's a turn of the century home). My handyman was struggling with the GFCI circuits in the kitchen and also the furnace was not powering up - and had an error code about polarity. I hired an HVAC company who told me I needed a new board or a new system (for the low low price of $7,000). I had an inkling the problem was maybe electrical, and decided a second opinion on the furnace was a good idea since the system was not THAT old and I needed to address the GFCI circuit anyways. So I went on Yelp and found Cal Paso. Alex was my tech. And he did an ace job! He troubleshooted the GFCI problem and came up with a great solution for our hundred year old home where *nothing* is standard size or ever easy. His solution worked and even made the property *better* for the tenants by giving them more outlets than before. Then he went to the attic and solved the furnace issue. And technically there were two minor wiring issues involved, and if you've ever troubleshooted anything, it can be hard to figure out what's wrong when there's more than one problem! But Alex did. I will absolutely, 110%, use Cal Paso again. They saved me from an HVAC company who couldn't troubleshoot at all and was going to gouge me with a new system. And they made everything BETTER than I expected, at a fair and reasonable rate.

Was supposed to come back the next day, I canceled a doctor's appointment to be available and he canceled on me. I ended up figuring out the repair on my own. He was supposed to give me an estimate for other work to be done on Monday and again no estimate and again a no show. Tony didn't return my text enquiries on Monday about whether or not he was coming. It's now 11AM so he's obviously he's not coming today. Another 3 hours of my life wasted waiting around. Really disappointed to wait so long and not get help. Definitely not reliable about showing up.

I worked with MAURICIO over text message and on the phone to describe the details of the job, and they were so easy to communicate with on all the details. They did all this work while I was not available to guide them in person... after they left I found that they accidentally missed one part of the job ... so they came the next morning (on a Saturday) to complete the job and again the results are flawless.
