Even still, it's right in the heart of West Nashville, with a large FREE parking lot right behind the building. Like other local Switchyards locations, Sylvan Park is decorated to emulate a cozy college library. I love the coffee/tea stations, and of course the easy-to-devour Stroopwafels. There are four phone booths here where you can take a call if needed, though you do need to reserve times online through your account (and it's limited to two hours a day per member). If you're in need of a space where you can get away and be extremely productive, I highly recommend Switchyards!

The coffee and tea stations are machines with high quality and local sources, and cream is available in the mini fridge. Coffee and tea are free and unlimited. The personal recommendation from the welcome staff at a sneak-peak orientation and from myself would be to not work here 8-5 but rather choose a couple hours of the day when maybe you're low on meetings or looking for a coffee break to relax in a warm neighborhood setting with likeminded professionals. This Switchyards location immediately neighbors Richland Park in the Sylvan Park neighborhood. I-40 ramps are just 1 block away. I'd recommend the free parking by the Richland Park tennis courts. At least two private call booths are available in addition to at least one meeting room. Switchyards locations are not manned but rather self-sign in. Most memberships are $100/month although you may get coupons via email or USPS mailers for $50/month for a period of time. You can always pay a small fee for a shorter trial. Every membership gives you 24/7 access to all Switchyards around the country (currently in the southeast) although memberships are capped (in this case, 250 people) at your "home" neighborhood location. For the membership price of $100 per month, you can consider the value of the free caffeine and change in environment. Because I have a job where it's highly useful to have multiple monitors and an ergonomic desk set up, going to Switchyards isn't as advantageous as it is for other industries where working from a coffee shop may be a no-brainer positive environment.

A remarkable example of Nashville is the Nashville Symphony Statue. I got to see quite a bit of it on my vacation. I did not have to go out of my way to see it. It stands in the heart of Nashville across from the Walk of Fame Park, a block north from the Country Music Hall of Fame, a block south of Broadway, and along the Symphony Place approach to the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in the shadow of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The first time I set eyes on it was walking to and from the pedestrian bridge. The last time was on a casual Downtown Nashville walk. The Nashville Symphony Statue is a classic bowl fountain starring a male and female musician. Welcoming people to the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, It's as if they are saying, "Nashville is more than Country Music." In the zenith of the hot and humid summer, the water, especially on June 29 looked so refreshing and made me want to jump in a pool. The water was likewise esthetically inviting for photography. It was one of many Nashville attractions that I used to test out my Pixel 8A camera. The photo opportunities here are remarkable. Looking to the east, the Nashville Symphony Statue fronts the symphony hall and Pinnacle Tower with the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in the distance. This provides a contrast of modern and classic architecture. Looking to the North, the male and female musician statues seem to be pointing up at the majestic AT&T "Batman Building." And looking southwest, it forms a centerpiece between the Symphony Center, and Country Music Hall of Fame. From the Walk of Fame gardens, creative photographers can capture the statue standing above a flower base. So, most of my time with the Nashville Symphony Statue was picture taking. On another note, it is a short walk down Forth Avenue to the Recording Angel Statue at the southwest corner of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. I give the Nashville Symphony Statue four stars. It is one of several attractions that prove that Nashville is much more than country music.

The graceful statues and dancing water create such an elegant, almost magical atmosphere it instantly makes you slow down and take it all in. During the day, the fountain sparkles in the sun and offers a lovely spot to rest or snap a photo, and in the evening the lighting gives it a serene, almost cinematic feel. There is room to pull over or drive into the park and the marker is located at the entrance. The marker reads, "Ben Chrismon (1877-1963), a shoe cobbler, and his wife, Mary Polk Chrismon, founded Sunset Park between 1909-1929. Before integration, this park was a popular recreation center for the African American community throughout Middle Tennessee. From the horse and wagon era to chartered buses, the 11-acre park was a place of enjoyment for many generations. Recreation included a 3-hole golf course, ballgames, picnics and family reunions. Concessions offered fried fish and homemade ice cream. Purchased in 1965 by Thomas A Brown, Sr. and his wife, Jessie Boyd Brown, the park remained in operation another ten years. The Browns raised their family in a home adjacent to the park. "Sunset Park was flanked by an historic stone fence and dotted by neatly whitewashed trees. One of the brightest hours at Sunset Park was in September 1929, when the park played host to the Williamson County Colored Agricultural Exhibition. Admission to the fair was 15 and 25 cents. Progress and achievements were exhibited with farmers' produce and handicrafts. Among the many baseball players at Sunset Park was Woodrow Williams (1917-1990), a native of Nolensville. He began his career with the Nashville Stars Southern Association and went on to play with the Baltimore Elite Giants, a Negro National Triple League." You are paying a fee to allow pets on the property. It will NOT cover any stains or damage caused by your pet. Your pet rent doesn't cover anything either. So you're just paying this place to allow your pet to be there. I've lived in several different complexes in the Nashville area, and I've never been charged this much for pet damages or normal wear and tear. This place is a scam. DON'T LIVE HERE.

I saw that an earlier review had concerns about the hold process - those have been fixed! The hold shelves are in far corner when you walk in and there are self-checkout options. I mainly use the hold system, but it seems like there is so much great programming, especially for kids, whenever I go by. The one challenge is that the branch has more limited hours than other branches. It can be hard to get there after work before the 6:00pm close. And I inevitably realize that I haven't picked up my holds yet when they are closed on Sunday! I hope that they add Sunday hours - even if just a few like other branches.

Koinonia (Greek for 'fellowship') Coffeehouse opened in 1973 with artists such as Dogwood, Fireworks and Brown Bannister boldly sharing their faith through contemporary music. It became a destination for "Jesus Music" artists nationwide as young talent such as Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith shared their first songs. The neighboring Belmont Church helped with overflow crowds, co-hosting early CCM recording artists such as Honeytree, Randy Matthews, Don Francisco and more." And on the reverse, "Contemporary Christian Music. Religious music was integral to Nashville's identity as "Music City," from early music publishing houses to the international impact of the Fisk Jubilee Singers. Key artists nurtured locally in the 1970s eventually crossed over to mainstream fans and by the 1990s, Contemporary Christian and Gospel Music outsold jazz and classical. Nashville also became the capital of this new genre, serving as home to the Gospel Music Association, major labels and a growing creative community."
