Hey! New record! Probably the longest over-due review ever. This little grassy patch of land has been here and zoned as "Cumberland Park" for as long as I can remember. Back when the Walgreen's across the street used to be "Thompson's Finer Foods" and there was a Cadillac dealer nearby, over on Meacham.
It's nice they leave a little grass to cut the concrete, residential and commercial hardscape. Dogs love it too. This dog running here today and chasing the ole tennis ball would probably give it a solid five stars.
My only gripe: it's very well-manicured. One of my favorite pines has had all the lower branches removed since my previous visit. Looks good maybe, but those low branches create a nice canopy, serving as a delightful little area where pine cones collect. Anyway, no fancy fountains nor flowers, just green grass and prairie-reminiscent plants. (Haha, that just auto-corrected to "planes"....yes, you'll hear and see some of those overhead.) Anyway, benches are clean and the place smells fresh.
