Unfriendly service. Older woman with blonde hair is always in a bad mood. Not a very convenient place to go anymore.

One of the absolute best stores in Provincetown--and calling this place "Essentials" almost feels…read morelike an understatement. Yes, you can grab whatever you actually came in for, but somewhere between walking through the door and meeting Laura, the incredible owner, you'll realize you've accidentally stumbled into one of the best forms of late-night entertainment in P-Town. Laura is bubbly, hilarious, welcoming, and genuinely seems to love every person who walks through her doors. This is NOT an "grab your essentials and leave" kind of convenience store. Clear your schedule. You might be here for an hour. Maybe two. And if you wander in after midnight? Even better. Chuck a duck. Find the hand. Stay for a glizzy. Listen to some music. Have a conversation with a complete stranger who somehow feels like an old friend by the time you leave. Come in looking for snacks and walk out with a story you'll probably be telling for years. There are convenience stores, and then there's Essentials. Because apparently the real essentials in life are good music, good food, ridiculous games, spontaneous conversations, a little late-night chaos, and people who make you feel welcome the second you walk through the door. 10/10. Come for the essentials. Stay because you completely forgot why you came in. And Laura--never change. Provincetown wouldn't be the same without you.

This is your typical convenience store, but located in Provincetown's Commercial St. You can get…read moreyour lottery ticket, soda, snacks, prepared foods, etc. I stopped in to get a banana cake slice, as I was a bit hungry. They have lots of packaged goods like baked goods, chips, etc. There's coffee and ice slushy drinks for those who want a beverage.

I usually pick up a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie because hello it's delish and a bargain at $2.50, today I grabbed a turkey club to fuel my shopping. It was so good, they roast the turkey so it's top notch. I've been stopping through this wonderful business for more years than I'd like to mention! Like I mentioned at the beginning it's my GO TO en route out of town. The vibe is always chill and the chairs are comfy. I wish I took a picture but alas I didn't was getting outta town before the change over crowd arrived.

I was actually heading out of PTown and a bartender recommended this spot so I could grab some food…read morefor the road. (He recommended this the night before. I did not go from the bar to the market). There's limited parking right along the side of the market. There's other parking in that gravel lot on the left side, but that's a paid day parking lot. The gentleman working actually let me park for a hot minute since I was just running in and out. Small market but has seating at the front if you'd like to dine in. So here's the deal for my anxiety ridden friends: - If you want a sandwich, walk in to where you see the chalk boards with the sandwich selections and there's an Order Here spot on the left. Order your sandwich and they give you a buzzer that will tell you when your sandwich is ready and receipt to take to the front. - Now you can (or prior to ordering) gather all your other goods. There's prepackaged foods/meals right next to the sandwich area. In the back is more beer/wine and other eats. - Once you grab everything you want, go to the front and pay. They'll give you a receipt to use to pick up your sandwich. Buzzer goes off, you go get the sandwich w buzzer and receipt - they put it on the counter below the sandwich chalk boards and give buzzer back. - There are napkins, condiments and utensils in the middle you can grab as well. I went during the cuff of off season, so it wasn't too crazy in there, but during on season - I'm sure it can be crazy since it's smaller. So hopefully the ordering instructions help. Oh. And sandwich was bomb. Grabbed a bag of pickle chips too and pasta salad. It was definitely the right choice.
