MY FIRST SERVICE CALL: A couple years ago after much online…read moreinvestigation and multiple talks with Jack from Aquamart I decided to have them install a Kinetico water softener. I love the product and I would recommend it to anyone! Now anyone that has purchased anything we all know that the quality and professionalism is only truly tested when you have a problem and you need service or repair. Aquamart as a company was amazing! My first service call experience was exactly how customer service should be! Please continue reading as I go into details of what happened. From the first lady that answered the phone (sorry I didn't remember her name) on a Friday at 4:55pm and spent time helping troubleshoot my problem, all the way around to Jack that actually came to fix my problem! The first pleasant surprise was how much that wonderful lady knew as the first point of contact and that she was able to walk me through some tests and questions to make sure I needed a technician and couldn't fix it on my own. After we had determined I truly was in a pickle I couldn't get myself out of we scheduled a technician to come and fix it for me. Before that tech could come I got a call from Jack with more questions and an idea as to what my problem was. He asked if he could come instead of the tech because he was sure that the problem was with the salt I was using. He told me a couple things to do to prepare for his arrival which I gladly did. He arrived the next day exactly when he said he would and got to work. Turned out he was 100% correct about the salt issue however it had taken me a while to realize the problem and the issue snowballed into the entire head of the softener was all gummed up by calcium buildup because it wasn't working properly. Jack spent 1/2 a day cleaning and greasing to get my system back up and running. He was a wealth of information about the other filters I had running that were installed by other companies BEFORE I found Aquamart. I picked his brain while he worked and he was more than happy to help. He spent almost as much time explaining everything about my system then he did fixing it. I learned so much about how it operates, what to do if it isn't, what to look out for and best practices. Such a great experience I could not say enough good things about this company or the people that work there!

Great Service. There were a couple issues (post install) but they dealt with everything!read more

It has been the best of times. It has been the worst of times. We bought a cottage on a well in…read moreOctober 2016. I was delighted to find a water treatment business so close to us. Having never owned a well water system before, I asked them to come and check out my system to make sure it was working correctly and help me understand how to maintain it. I expected that the very first step would be to test what was in our well water so they could determine what should be removed from it. Otherwise, how would they know what equipment we need or which settings to use?? They sent a guy named Dan or Stan--an older guy with glasses--who told me that the previous owners of our cottage had been very frugal (whatever that means); that I should add liquid chlorine to my chlorinator tank at 50% water + 50% x 12% liquid Cl; and that he had serviced our chlorinator in July of that year. Then he charged me $130 for this advice, several half answers, many shrugs, and 2 bags of salt. He told me that they can NOT test water at all, no matter what! A month later in November, our chlorinator backed up and flooded our basement with strong bleach from the chlorinator tank. I took it upon myself to service it this time as The Water Stop was clearly useless. My calculations based on recent water tests (see below), internet research and the specifications manual for my chlorinator pump tell me that I need to add 12% liCl to my tank at 1:100, so 700ml 12% liquid chlorine to 70 L water (not 1:1 !!), and to set my pump at 50% capacity, not full blast like Dan said. So, he was telling me (without testing my water) to use 200 times more chlorine than necessary. I have since been trying to get my softeners set properly (part of the reason for my initial service call). I emailed them but never got a response. I went in to get some advice and found this Dan guy again offering nothing more than shrugs, smiles and half answers. Talking to him feels like trying to get advice from a lawyer who is off the clock. He either doesn't care of doesn't understand what he's doing. Another time I visited the shop to buy more liquid chlorine (because Canadian Tire doesn't sell it) and there was a woman working at The Water Stop who's only answer to every question is "you'll have to talk to a technician", except for one useful piece of information: they DO test water after all! Facepalm. On my most recent visit I encountered a different employee for the first time, Don, who was the most helpful and courteous person I've encountered in a long time anywhere. He tested my water, answered my questions, gave me some excellent advice and made my day. Thanks again, Don! So, if you visit The Water Stop, deal with Don or never mind.

Reliance came and replaced a T&P valve, but said my Expansion…read moretank was faulty and needed replacement at a cost of $160. here's where the problem arises. A new tank was installed in late 2023 for which I paid $160. A few months later the tank failed and was replaced free of charge. Now the tank has failed again after 9 months. Reliance wants another $160 to replace the tank, saying the water pressure is too high? Now if water pressure is the problem maybe a relief valve on the tank would resolve the issue or maybe poor workmanship from the tank manufacturer is the issue. Some history. The original tank was installed in 2001 and failed in 2023, the original tank reached its life expectancy and water pressure was and is constant. The complex I live in has 42 units, 85% of the units still have the original expansion tank and all water pressures are similar. I am now faced with paying another $160 with no guarantee. On top of all that I still have water leakage which is now causing damage. Reliance was to call me the following day to discuss this issue. Guess what? No call. Here it is 3+days.
