I never really write reviews especially when it comes to dentist . Whoever even likes to go in the first place . But that is exactly why I need to share my surprisingly great experience I had at Culinary Health Center /Durango Dental with Dr Yoon , Isabel and Joel. Having put off dental work for some time I have quite a bit of work that needed to be done from fillings to root canals . I actually had several different appointments and what started off as pure dread ended up giving me a new perspective on going to the dentist . Dr Yoon was so patient and gentle not at all heavy handed like others I've been to. He explained everything thoroughly and I didn't feel rushed at all. He did such a great job. Isabel is just the sweetest . She is so experienced and knowledgeable a true asset for sure . I always really looked froward to seeing her . On the website it says it's opened 24hrs and the guy that was in the front around 10:30 didn't even bother to open the door and tell us that they're closed. Definitely don't recommend this location. read more

Save yourself the nurses are not kind and they talk about you out loud! It's nuts. One legitimately lied to my face to relaying a message to my doctor and said she's with a patient and then leaves the room screaming my diagnosis immediately as if I'm making it up. My question really, If the doctor is in the office with a patient, who is she screaming my diagnosis to? Please save yourself the judgement find somewhere else read more

went in with symptoms of a cold & explained it all to the NP-- Erica Oswalt-- I believe it's spelled. She gave me medication for ALLERGY. Side effects of the med could cause a sore throat, I already had a sore throat!! How about prescribe something like.., a cold/flu medicine!!? I was told my meds would be ready in 15 mins. I went to the pharmacy & they said wait time was more like 45 mins to an hour. I said I'll come back tomorrow & they told me it'd be ready by then. Next morning I show up around 9am & my meds STILL WERE NOT READY. Told me to take a seat & they'll call me shortly.. I sat for 30 minutes before I left & came back. They were finally ready after another 40 mins. I didn't even use the 2 meds given to me for my ALLERGIES, I don't suffer from any allergies by the way. I only used the cough medicine & had to go to the drug store to buy otc cold/flu meds. read more

How fast this location has went down hill. Couple years ago this place felt state of the art. One stop shop. But ever since the new nellis location has opened the service here is horrible. My primary left. And my new doctor I don't care for much. The woman who took my blood the other day couldn't pull herself from her phone that she was watching a movie on. She couldn't find my vein. And half was thru she lost the vein again and then just fished the syringe around. I woke up the next morning any my entire arm was purple. Today I'm back for a walk in. Been sitting here for 2 hours now. Still waiting. Got here at 7pm. It's now 9. The service that culinary used to provide felt that having this insurance was really worth the amount of self pay I had to do for never getting earning enough hours at work. But I have to say. I think it's time for me to switch insurance. Several of the medication I want aren't covered. And for what? Nahh. read more

I'm a frequent flier when it comes to urgent care and health centers, I just heard from my sister about this neat NEW place and decided to fly by. I had a splinter stuck in my thumb, and a minor infection from drinking some unfortunate water. I was greeted by a tall beautiful woman named Jenn B. Her professionalism and personality made it easy for me to relax and trust the process. The room was clean, fresh, and tidy. Nurse practitioner Lien M. Legra was quick and precise, I couldn't believe my eyes when she removed the splinters I couldn't find. I'm so grateful to receive the care I needed from the Culinary Health Center! In January my husband came in sick with a flu like symptom. They diagnosed him with Norovirus! Prescribed the 7 day pill and still didn't work. So I asked my husband to go back! So finally they sent him to a Gynecologist ! The GI DOCTOR found a GI BLEED-so, biopsy was sent and one week later- we find out that it is CANCER! 3 weeks later we find he was STAGE 4 COLON CANCER!! This place is a Joke! They don't really check to see ur diagnoses before prescribing meds!! THEY DONT CARE BUT TO PRESCRIBE MEDS BECAUSE THATS HOW THEY MAKE MONEY!! SADLY BUT IT IS TRUE!! read more

This is probably the worst health care quality I've ever experienced in my entire life. Just setting up a schedule to see a NP/Doctor took months. And the sad part was after waiting that long, you get to talk to the provider but you only get 15 minutes of their time lol. I couldn't even tell them about the other issues I am having. The lady NP just said to me if you have other medical issues, set up another appointment because your time is up or go to an Urgent care clinic? Wow. And I pay my union fees and get a service like this? I rather just go to a private clinic than deal with this. read more

Came home crying from the dentist office. I've never been told "NO" too many times in my life. Didn't even try to help me on something I didn't have any control over. My blood pressure was high and talked about my insurance ended this same day and they didn't even try to help me. I felt I was begging for what I paid and worked for like my benefits as part of the union. read more

We recently changed from our small-town doctor to the Durango center. I feel like we finally landed at the right place. Dr. Zaidia is wonderful. She took the time to listen to our concerns, and she didn't treat me like an outsider because I was the wife. She listened to me and took what I had to say into consideration. She even wrote down the medication name so I could do research before starting my husband on a new medication. And the fact that you can use the portal to contact the doctor for med refills, paperwork, or general questions is utterly fantastic. read more

Tried calling today to book an appointment for the first time. Have been suffering from chest pains all week and am quite sure I have another respiratory infection. I was hoping to go in and get a steroid prescription as my general practitioner was unavailable. I was transferred to a nurse on the phone who told me to go to the ER. I explained to her that 3 months ago I did this; however, I spent 4 hours there and they billed my Culinary insurance over $23k. I told her I didn't think this was neccesary. She said they weren't equipped to deal with my issues and that I should go to the ER. What a joke. I could sell a case of Bud Light at a Kid Rock concert easier than getting into this "sacred fortress". What a waste of Union funds. Anyway, saw a doctor outside of this facility and received my prescription within minutes. Don't even bother calling these people. read more

Gorgeous. It's like you're entering a zen retreat for the day. Employees greet you at the entrance and direct you to wherever your appointment is located. Check in desk employees are very friendly and personable. What I especially liked was that they triage You right inside your exam room- the scale and blood pressure are all inside each room and just like the Nellis location, patients enter on one side and doctors enter on the other. The one thing I noticed that was a tiny bit of a let down was unlike the Nellis location, there were no usb charging tables in the waiting rooms. read more

Location is great but scheduling for a deep clean appointment in the dental department is ridiculous. The only time you can call and schedule is Monday mornings before the list of the week fills up. They need a better system instead of this. It's an inconvenience and some of us work graveyard. read more

Literally do yourself a favor and find a new dentist. I wanted to try them because I heard good things but they are so far booked it's not worth it. I started my journey the first week of December which was a consultation to get the treatment plan. To schedule the deep cleaning which is broken down in 2 because they won't numb your whole mouth and insurance won't cover it unless it's split. I somehow got a call for a cancellation a week after my first visit but if I wanted to book an apt they were quoting me in February. Mind you I'm a satm my availability is OPEN. The only procedure I ended up doing here was half of the deep cleaning. They kept saying call first thing on Monday because a new schedule opens up... I called for 3 weeks straight and nothing and at that point if I wanted to book they were saying late February now. I'm sorry I'm not going to wait 2+ months to get the second half of my deep cleaning done when standard is supposed to be 2 weeks apart. Go to the culinary website and click find dentist and follow the instructions , I'll link photos below. I found a dentist near me that accommodated me right away and completed my treatment plan in less than 2 weeks!!!! I've never been happier. No more cancellation wait lists or appointments that are 2 months apart from your last. I can't even imagine people with busy schedules wasting their time here. read more

This is for their dental center located on the 2nd floor. DO NOT EVER GO HERE. I have not been to a dentist in years. I decided to get a check up and cleaning. They do everything separately. First was X-ray and check up, then they wanted to schedule the cleaning a month out etc... The doctor I saw, said I had cavities in all 4 of my wisdom teeth and wanted to remove them instead of filling them, wanted to redo my pre existing fillings and then fill "other" cavities I had. Silver filling is free, white composite they charge for. I went to get a second opinion and the doctor I saw and ended up getting my checkup, X-rays and cleaning done all at once said my pre existing fillings were fine, the "cavities" in my wisdom teeth were food stains and I had no new cavities... This place is extremely unprofessional and they're scamming their patients with unnecessary procedures. STAY AWAY. Oh by the way the white composite at my other dental office is free. ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION. read more

The dentist office is one of the worst customer service I have experienced. Had an appointment for my son the dentist said my son would need braces and so he just requested cleaning and the two cavities to be taken care of we took care of the work that needed to be done so on the last appointment my son referral was supposed to be sent to the insurance company for approval cause his double covered only to find out the office staff sent it in without the dentist signature the area he needed to fill out so that part wasn't done so it was denied due to the missing information. So I went back to the dentist office and made the office manager aware of the issue she apologized and said she would personally take care of the issue only to call me a week later to tell me she couldn't send it in since my son needs to be seen by another dentist cause the dentist that was taking care of my son was no longer with them. This whole time I've been asking to get me in contact with her boss since one seems to know standard procedure or maybe don't care ‍ but I work and I don't have time for ppl to play games or whatever they are doing over at that office. I'm so grateful they opened a health center on my side of town! The staff at the entrance is very welcoming. I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. My husband and I are under the care of NP Shane Lazaro and he's a total sweetheart. He's very humble and personable. I was also seen by Dr. Bigelow and she was super awesome! She was very direct with with her questions and took the time to get to know me in order to provide a solution. Even the staff at the pharmacy is super kind and extremely pleasant. This location has exceeded my expectations after having such an awful traumatizing experience with a NP at the Nellis location. read more

Office Staff and Not Tess where Great ..I was very excited to come to this facility because I pay my dues and I work hard to make sure to use my benefits .. i'm very impressed with the building. The facility is great. Everything was going good until I saw the doctor. Doctors very bad Energy rude and not a good doctor. No bedside manner. I can't believe I actually picked this doctor out of all the pictures thinking he was going to be awesome but he's not so I don't think I'd come back here unless I see another doctor, other than that, the facility is very good as far as the look of it Doctor goes not impress whatsoever then really do what he needed to do everything I wanted to get done. After hearing about this place numerous times, I decided to give it a try after a recent urgent care visit. I didn't have a primary anyway, so I needed one. I've lived in several states and have never seen a medical facility like this one, and to be here in NV no less (not known for our healthcare). The doctor was pleasant and spent time with me, unlike the rushing out that Dignity does. The pharmacy is attached and there were no co-pays for ANYTHING. Everyone was friendly and looked like they enjoyed working there, so finally I asked the girl at the pharmacy counter, "do you love working here?", and she replied, "I love working here", and meant it. No one had the stressed out look like the big medical systems or a busy Walgreen's. I will be back and will set up my husband there too. I really don't feel like we get anything out of my husband's union, but this health center makes it all worth it. A beautiful facility!!! read more
