My wife and I went to hike / walk on the lakeside trail. The path is nice and quiet. There were a few others on the trail but otherwise was peaceful for us. It took us 1 1/2 hours to complete the trail. Looks like you can fish on the dock or by boat at the boat ramp. There is a swimming cove for the other side of the entrance. The trail is quite easy and is clean of debris. I would like to come back in the late summer/ fall to see the tree leaves! read more

I'm impressed by how huge this place extends to-rivers and forests and trails and everything. It's definitely a nice getaway for nature, to go for a stroll and such. So why am I giving this place three stars? The camping service here is a little........rather......special. The cabins were of filth, and the showers there are mucky and there is rust, splotches of?? random muck everywhere in every corner of the bathroom. Not to mention the ants everywhere plus other bugs. Not even during night time. Don't even think about testing the theory yourself, just stay away from the camping experience. Other than that, I would reccomend this park to those who want a nice afternoon maybe enjoying the cool breeze, staring at flowers and other wildlife outside or go biking. It's pretty beautiful! read more

Love this state park!! My favorite spots are along Cheatham Rd off of French Bluff. You can see so much from those overlooks. I do wildlife and landscape photography and it's perfect for this!! The park is also open for client photo sessions which is awesome for me and my business. read more

We have stayed at state park campgrounds in other states and have always found them to be a great experience. This was our first time staying at a Missouri state park campground. We camp in a 36' fifth wheel rv towed by a 250 Dodge Ram pickup. We were horrified that even though we'd inquired over the phone as to the best way to enter with a large rv, the park signs sent us on heavily winding , narrow roads with high elevation hills and drop offs on both sides of the road with no guardrail. The one lane bridge was also not a lot of fun. Arriving at the campground there was a booth, as usual, where an employee usually greets you, gives you a map, tells you how to purchase wood and ice, etc. There was a sign saying no one was on duty there (this was the case through our entire stay) and that there was a camp host at a certain site. At that site was a large sign saying camp host was off duty (this was the case during our entire stay). We looked at an online map we found and it showed a short, flat, way out of the park. We tried that exit the next day and were delighted to discovered it was so much safer to exit that way than the way we came in. Upon returning from our day's travels, we attempted to reenter the park the same way we'd gone out and were told by workmen that it was the employee emergency exit only. He did let us reenter that way and then locked the gate which had been open for several days before that. We went looking for the camp host again at his campsite and finally found him walking around the campground. When we tried to get any information about the best/safest way to exit the park when we left, he might just as well have said , "It is what it is, try going right instead of left." We tried that route out of the park the next morning only to discover that it was still a route that was definitely not rv friendly but was without the hilly terrain. We are leaving this morning and hope to make it out the 2+ mile exit road without incident. I would not advise coming here. It was not a positive experience for us and the pull through site that we were on was a very uneven partial gravel pad. We won't be back. read more

It's a fantastic state park with lots of hiking and all the things you'd expect. The park rangers are seen often and they do a great job keeping issues to a minimum. Great place to swim at the lake or the creek and lots of special talks with kids and adults. read more

Lake Lincoln is a beautiful lake for kayaking. Easy paddling for first time kayakers! A nice boat ramp & fishing dock. A few different arms of the lake to explore. At the northern end of the lake is a swimming beach that can be accessed by car. Lake Lincoln is in the Quivre River State Park. It's short drive on I-64 North of I-70, in Troy, MO. Excellent place to camp. One of the few state parks that have full hook up options. Awesome trails, and Lake Lincoln offers fishing. Campground rent kayaks, which I love! Plenty of great coves to explore. The beach is filled with geese, and therefore filled with geese droppings, but otherwise, what a wonderful park! Oh, and don't miss the visitor center! read more

Beautiful scenery, several hiking trails, nice camping and playground areas. They keep the park very clean. The swimming area is ok however the water can be very stagnant at times probably due to the fact it doesn't have any flow through it. There are a few other creek areas we prefer to swim because the water is much cleaner/clearer. read more

This is a great place for the family. My family enjoys the creek the most! The childern love skipping rocks, catching tadpoles, and rock collecting there! The beach isnt the best in my opinion but my kids love building sand castles or burying eachother. They also love all the muscle shell and collecting them as they think they are sea shells. We also love fishing in lake, at times its super easy to get a catch but other times it's difficult. Still its very enjoyable. Kayaking is also available which of course is awesome! The scenery is beautiful! Also all the trails are nice. And they also have a campground. The informational center is welcoming and informative! Overall I recommend this place!!! Its very nice if your into those types of things listed above! read more

We love Cuivre river! Been camping here for years! Great area, out of the way, and there are some gorgeous, spacious spots! You just have to know where to look. I had one tick on me, and there were none on my husband or daughter nor dog over the course of two days. But, we used bug spray w/10% deet, it was a good one and said it was for ticks too, they can get bad. However, one reviewer mentioned it was a downfall, they're everywhere in Missouri, if you're gonna be outdoors here, expect ticks! The racoons are bad at night though. At Ieast they were last two days, never had these problems before....they got into anything left out, even non-food items...for hours. That was annoying, but the days were so perfect, with the lake right there...who can care? I'll be back several times! Check it out if you haven't before! read more

Can't imagine that I have only been in STL for 3 weeks and already went on my first camping trip this weekend to a MO state park w/ some really cool friends (their idea for this place, so i can't take the credit). When I told my STL friends where I was camping, most of them had never heard of CRSP. Considering there is one other Yelp review on here for Missouri State Park re: Cuivre River SP, I thought I'd give CRSP its own review. It deserved it. I cannot complain at all! I've been camping quite a few times so I knew what to expect: potential rain (it did), s'mores (why, yes we did), and great hikes (check). Cuivre River State Park (CRSP) was a nice welcome to Missouri's natural surroundings. I was exceptionally pleased with the free hot showers in the restrooms close to our group's tent sites. Another major pro was the privilege of having a running faucet proximately close to most tent sites. Even "handicap" tent/RV sites were stationed next to the restroom. I know that some may find this annoying, but the Park Rangers were always driving around to make sure everything was A-Okay. I found it reassuring that we weren't left to the wolves...or bears...or raccoons. Our group took a hike for approx. 7 mi but I'm not sure which trail we did; but if you check out the website, they give a very good description of each trail that is in CRSP. I would have given this a "5" if not for 2 things: our section of the camp (which is the majority of it) shared 1 restroom area with quite a few tent/RV sites (from my count, maybe 40-50 sites): 4 stalls & 3 showers in the women's restroom just does not cut it. Secondly, our tent site was quite muddy. It took us almost 2 hours to break down tent, rinse it, dry it, & pack it. I know this is not like the other tent sites (I looked) in CRSP, so just don't reserve for Site #54. read more

Went on a family road trip and stopped at Cuivre to do some camping. Beautiful scenery. The camping staff that greeted us was super friendly and helpful. They have tons of stuff you can buy if you forgot something, need firewood, or ice. We stayed in the electrical camping section. The middle section only has a few trees around and are clustered fairly close together so if you want a more secluded area with more shade, get a site on the outside, not the inside. So far, no issues with ticks. Though they do have raccoons so make sure to throw your stuff away in trash bags and the dumpsters. Lock up all your food in a car. There's a nice lake nearby to cool off if it's hot too. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. read more

Not up to standards. Spaces are small. Ticks everywhere. Office staff was nice but it took 4 people to figure our the cost for a coffee mug! Other staff said our dogs must be on lead at all times when all literature stated they could be in the water away from swimming beaches. No showers anywhere near rv camping area. Did I mention the ticks? The nice tasks were all but unusable. Pulled at least 100 ticks. Will not be back. read more

we reserved our site 2 weeks in advance. upon arriving we found the park allowed tent campers into the RV/Camper section, right beside us so they could plug their window A/C into the electric and air condition their tent. they had already taken over our picnic table and we asked them to move, which they did....right next to our firepit which we couldn't use until they left early Sunday morning. we were ready to use it Saturday night until they decided to wash all their dishes right at the water hydrant and flooded the entire area by our firepit. The firepit had been very poorly planned in being placed so close to the electric/water hookups. Why the park allowed tent campers into the RV section is a mystery to me. It was explained to me later that by keeping anyone out, it would be discriminating against them. So....our weekend was ruined to keep from hurting the feelings of another party. I won't return to that section of the park anytime soon. Camp on the other side of the park. No soap in the restrooms.... the RV section is at the extreme East side of the park, right alongside a road and housing. Road traffic at night, ambulance sirens, dogs barking, etc., etc. read more
