Located with Radisson blu, cuckoo nest is the hotel's restaurant. It has a sexy and posh vibe that I really enjoy. With a good selection of high tables, regular dinning tables and sofas, it suits everyone's needs, whether you are having beer with a group, dining with a friend or just chilling solo.
Tonight I had dinner here alone. I ordered the Asian crayfish soup and entrecôte.
To be completely frank, the food is good but not outstanding. Crayfish/lobster bisque is Swedish local food, not screwing it up is a no brainer. The chef added an Asian vibe, included lemongrass and other Asian species. It's good, it's interesting, unfortunately a bit too salty. Good idea but slightly flawed execution.
The brown bread is not to be missed. I don't really know what it is, the texture reminds me of banana nut bread but taste doesn't. It's really good. (And I don't even like bread)
Finally the steak is ... Average I guess. Perfectly cooked to medium rare as I have requested. But the everything else on that plate is just not that impressive. I don't like the potato au gratin, and I definitely don't like roasted whole cherry tomatoes. The squirt factor is like 100% with these little buggers. I would recommend the chef to choose something different for their sides. Considering this is a business hotel, I'm sure no one wants to get stuck with tomatoes all over them.
The vibe of the restaurant saved them. Otherwise it would probably more like 3 stars. read more
