It was a warm, dry place to spend a night and reset after some long spring time miles. Price was very reasonable, the hostess was polite and prompt, and the room was great. This had been a childhood dream of mine. A book about her and her work was one of my first art awards in grade school. Because of that, she was one of my first introductions into what became a lifelong pursuit of art. With a ticket booked, I began looking for hotel stays nearby and found this place. Honestly, it was the only place to stay that didn't involve getting up early for a drive to meet the tour group that started in the morning. The pictures looked cute. The location was next door to the welcome center, so I made our reservations without a second thought... and, I wish I'd have thought to make the stay longer! This place was completely adorable. The property itself is so much more than the pictures. There's a local artists' gallery available for purchase, a great gifts boutique, a restaurant with that charming patio which made for a memorable evening dining experience, walking paths adorned with outdoor art, a night sky where you felt like you could touch the stars... we didn't even have one of the fancier rooms, and we felt like we were living "the land of enchantment." I will definitely be back!

Check in: super easy, no staff on site because it was late and off-season but entry instructions were clear and easy. Main lobby is a great lounge area with tons of games, books, snacky stuff, full kitchen, stocked fridge. Area: awesome location, near the base of a mountain with a river stream nearby. It's magical. Room: clean, super quiet, new Mexican decor. Also, I think the floor tiles were heated, which is something I didn't think I needed in my life until that moment. Other: I didn't pool or hot tub it given wintery weather but they're there. Also, there's a really old saloon Los Ojos nearby and it's the very definition of dive bar. The indoor pool and jacuzzi are nice to wind down after a long day driving. It is a small town and there aren't a lot of places to eat, but we've all been happy with both Nachos and La Hacienda which are both located near the hotel. The hotel also has some frozen meals available that are very inexpensive if you just want to microwave something quick to eat before heading to sleep. We have stayed here many times over the years and have never had any problems.
