This place is authentic and tasty Cuban food in the Bay Area (and this is from someone who was born in Cuba and grew up in Miami). Granted, it won't be a white table cloth experience, but it's good food for the price and has ample variety. The place is small, but not overly crowded, and pet friendly with outdoor seating. I had the rice, beans, pork, Cuban cortadito, yuca, and fried sweet plantains. The pork was a bit on the salty side, but still delicious, soft, tender, and more on the lean side; and the portion of the beans could have been larger since there was so much rice. My only complaint is that they didn't have pastelitos de guayaba at the time. Will definitely come back here again. read more

This place is such a hidden gem! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the food is amazing. Make sure to get their in house pickles - they are delicious. They have also paleo friendly dishes where you can sub out the rice and beans with veggies. I had the salmon plate with broccoli and mushrooms. The broccoli and mushrooms were good. That was a combination of foods I'd never had before. The salmon, rice, and plantains were very basic and pretty unremarkable. And for $25 I thought it was very overpriced. My family and I were looking for a late lunch after escaping the Hillsdale mall... my sister-in-law suggested this place. Besides the traditional ropa vieja and cubano, the menu has a great selection of meats (beef, chicken, pork, seafood) as well as veggie items. Besides the traditional rice & beans, you can also combo your order with salad or as a sandwich. So much variety! Hadn't been in since their soft opening so I thought Id stop in to grab some grub. The owner as always was very welcoming and warm. She was very informative when I asked about their different variations of Cafe' & gave a great recommendation for the Cortadito, which was amazing. Much like a Vietnamese Cafe'. I ordered the Lechon plate with a side of Maduros. The entire plate was delish, The Guava Habanero BBQ sauce paired with the Lechon was amazing! Great flavors and huge portions. The ambiance of the resty is very fitting to the cusine served here, Never been to Cuba but I can imagine its very much like this. My favorite were all the beautiful succulents in the outside patio & surrounding areas. Great place to dine, welcoming staff who take pride in their establishment and great customer service. I've never been disappointed by this place. The staff is wonderful and the food is always delicious. You definitely have to get the Cuban, but the menu is worth exploring once you knock out the main attraction. I definitely recommend getting their mint-mojito limeade. During the Covid 19 Shelter in place in May 2019, we tried their take-out. We were trying to support local restaurants, so they can survive. Delivery by Doordash The best Cubano ($10.95) pulled pork, honey ham, jarlsburg Swiss cheese, pickled onion mojo, mustard & pickles pressed together on a Le Boulanger deli strip is pretty good. Nice bread, decent amount of meat. Lechon plate ($12.75) Cuban pork, garlic-cumin adobo, black beans, rice, mojo (pickled onions), maduro (plantain), guava-habanero bbq sauce was the better of our 2 plates. The rice and beans were really good. Maduro was also very good, it comes with one, so be sure ot order a side of them. read more
