Despite my personal trepidation and fifty years suppressed fear, I was delighted that USN Captain (retired) Bob Schwaneke had coordinated the core group which made this momentous gathering possible. I was overwhelmed at the congeniality & love evident as we came together, rekindling old/dormant friendships and memories. I was especially pleased to make contact with one of my primary influences: Social Studies teacher/mentor/wrestling coach BOB STOLZ during a formal dinner. Of course, the only reason for my being in RollaMO-USA was the reunion, highlighted with a tour of the campus. What a changed facility, only for the better! The campus, fifty years ago, occupied a smaller piece of land in the same area, but had since expanded to include all of the land between 10th street/Cedar/7th/8th/Holloway streets. The building itself is probably three or four times the size of the original, which has been incorporated into the current massive structure. Besides the "new" (I don't know exactly when construction of this edifice occurred) imposing/secure building, it is ready to serve this amazing international community throughout the rest of this century and beyond. What I have seen assures me that the (local) taxpayers have definitely invested their money wisely--as ALL communities everywhere should invest in their posterity! Besides acquisition of more land, the construction right now includes space for additional classrooms as the student population grows. To say the least, I'm quite pleased to be a "Bulldog", and know the trajectory is up and forward! Thank you, CAP'N BOB & all‼
