Best guava and cheese pasties I've had! Coffee and breakfast items are also great. Love this place! Friendly staff!

Empanadas
Jason F.

I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for our morning coffees. Cuba Coffee 2 is located in an industrial like complex on university Blvd and has visitor parking in the park. The shop itself is tiny and cute with tile floors, some seating and a hot display case filled with empanadas. What is different here is that the espresso machine isn't behind the counter and so everytime the nice lady working here needs to make coffee, she walks out and to the side to make it. For our coffees on this morning I went with a sweetened latte while my wife went for a mocha. Always a sucker for empanadas, I also got my wife and I a guava and cheese and ham and cheese empanada to share. After only a couple of minute wait, we had our food and coffee and were on our way. I first tried both of the empanadas and wow were they good! A nice and crispy exterior with good fillings in the middle. For the ham and cheese there was an ample amount of both ham and cheese and the guava one had a nice sweetness to it. As for the coffees, yeah, they were good too. My latte had a strong coffee base with enough sweetness to let you know it was there without being overly sweet. Then my wife's coffee was good as the mocha wasn't too sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. While I first thought it was sort of a weird location for a coffee shop, I did really enjoy my coffee and empanadas and thought that the woman working there was nice as well.

Y'all. Run don't walk. From the warm greeting I received from the owner and the kitchen staff to the timely service with a smile, Cuba Coffee 2 is going to be my new go to coffee shop in the Fort Myers area. Prices are super reasonable but parking is a little tricky. Tell your friends!

A delicious chicken empanada. It was stuffed with chicken. Full of flavor.

I'm a big fan of empanadas, they have beef, chicken, and pork. They are stuffed and full of flavor. Highly recommended.

We ordered their signature iced coffee, and it was delicious. The food menu has plenty of ways to customize your meal. I had the crab salad sandwich with a side of cinnamon bread, and it was fantastic. I'm not a fan of celery, but it was finely chopped instead of having big chunks, so it was perfect. Overall, this was a wonderful experience with great food, delicious coffee, and genuinely friendly service. I'm really glad we found Sweet Bean, and it's definitely a place we'll be coming back to.

I loved the flexspresso, not sure where else you can get something like this - it was a protein smoothie with flax and chia seeds plus espresso! Absolutely delish, not too sweet, and held me over til lunch. Really nice staff, they told us all their food has the ingredients clearly listed, no additional additives so you know it's fresh! There are a few chairs but it's mostly grab and go. I'd definitely come back to try their other stuff!

We spent time walking around looking at all the artwork while waiting for our food, and there was a lot to see. They also had a big selection of seasonal specials, which was fun. I ordered the Island Vibes Punch, which was supposed to have coconut, pineapple, and matcha. I was expecting something more like a piña colada with matcha, but it ended up being really citrus-heavy and honestly kind of strange, not in a good way either. Two people in our group ordered it, and both drinks actually tasted different from each other. The food took a while to come out, probably around 20-30 minutes, but the staff was super nice and apologized several times. The food itself was okay. My sandwich could have used more filling because parts of it were mostly just bread. Overall, I'm glad we went because it was a cool experience and a fun place to explore, but it's probably not somewhere I'd go back to regularly.

Here is my cons, really don't have any pros *order at the counter, 3% charge for a credit card usage *a sign on the table saying to put your dirty dishes in the bins across from the soda fountain machine. FU *serve yourself coffee bar which could be great but you're handed a toxic styrofoam cup. There's 3 large steel holders for coffee. Regular, decaf & French vanilla. We wanted decaf, I poured it & it was like old dark mud that came out, when coffee is old & been sitting it has that burnt smell & taste. I mentioned to the employee that the decaf was old & he offered to make more....he did but I'm pretty sure he didn't get rid of the old stuff still in there! I went back up & poured again, same disgusting coffee came out, I pointed it out & he shrugged & I said I'll just have regular coffee, he dumped out the icky decaf & gave me the cups back. *Being called Speckled Egg I would expect a lot of breakfast entries, nope, very little. *We both got omelettes, hub the Philly cheesesteak with home style potatoes which I asked what are the potatoes like & he said little cubed potatoes with onions & green peppers, it was either that or hash browns, ok give him the cubed potatoes. I got a spinach, goat cheese & mushroom omelette, whole grain toast & fruit instead of potatoes. The omelette wasn't bad but wasn't good, the fruit cup was like a Doles, the tiny pieces of fruit. Hubs potatoes went uneaten, he said these taste rubbery, he gave me one & they were inedible. *It was 1pm & there was ONE other table occupied, we should have left when we saw that. *Pricey! We paid First Watch or any other great breakfast place prices & got way less than McDonalds quality food & coffee. People do yourself a hard pass on this place, there's a First Watch a few doors down, man I could of had a really fantastic breakfast there & also a new place called The Morning Bloom down a little further north in the big plaza. Not sure how this place stays in biz. Sorry for the bad review but you ruined my coffee & breakfast experience today.
