Still lazy deli employee ignoring people waiting at deli counter
    River X.

This Cub Foods location is stocked with slow employees and incompetent management. In particular, the deli counter has poor customer service. Complaints about deli employees at this location can be found on its Facebook page under the Reviews section and on the internet at large with a proper search. I have experienced the terrible deli service first hand on two occassions. In both cases, the offender was a young Asian male douchebag. In the first instance, the little twerp was rude and behaved as if we as customers were an inconvenience to him. My bar is not very high for customer service expectations, when dealing with low wage workers, but this guy"s behavior was just unacceptable. On my most recent interaction, the little panty waste completely ignored me and my wife at the deli counter, instead pretending to be busy doing some make believe task. When I suggested that he assist us, he ignored me. See the included pictures. This time, I decided to speak with the store manager, who was almost impossible to locate. Turns out the store manager was completely indifferent to the behavior of incompetent and lazy Cub Foods employees. In the digital age, we do not just accept rude behavior and unprofessional management. In the digital age, we return to the store and live stream our interactions with lazy employees and conversations with lousy managers across social media. This is how we take our business and our money and our auduence's business and our audience's money to establishments who want and appreciate it.

What prompted me to leave a review, though, was I accidentally left a bag of stuff at the self checkout and thought it was gone forever.

Note, not all locations offer these products, so it's so nice that Fresh Thyme vadnais heights has been a constant supplier for me. It's been so nice not having to run all over the city (although, I would if needed). The store has always been clean and bright. I also love how they offer a wide variety of fresh and healthier options. Lots of other personal care products, protein powders, and bulk items like nuts, peanut butter, and such. If you're a shopper, you may find yourself getting lost in this store (like me). Something to consider, bringing your own reusable bags as each bag cost 10 cents, not the end of the world, but something to be aware of beforehand. Self checkout lanes are highly recommended here. Each time I've been here, maybe 1-2 lanes have been open, so when I needed assistance at the self checkout, it took a little while. However, my encounter with the staff member was good. She checked on the product price and adjusted to the correct cheaper price for me. It was a good experience. I will continue coming to Fresh Thyme for my Siena Soap Company needs and any other items I may need that are harder to come across at your regular grocery store.

I appreciate Cub Foods more these days. Although it's not my usual place to get groceries when I'm…read morein the Twin Cities, I lie that many Cub Foods open their parking lots for food trucks to gather. It's nice that they support small businesses. Having these food trucks around allows me to sample a bunch of good food while I'm in town. In early March, I learned that this Cub Foods in White Bear Lake (WBL) had five food trucks parked in the parking lot of this Cub Foods. I was excited for the food trucks and visiting WBL for the first time. I came here on a Sunday. The five food trucks were parked away from the actual supermarket. Looking at the store, it looked massive from my vantage point. It has Huntington, a bank. It also has its own liquor store and pharmacy. Out of the five food trucks, I got food from KCM Eggrolls and Original Hockey Mom Brownies. I had already had Rebel Lobster's lobster roll in the past. It was so tough to turn it down because I wanted to try food from other trucks. KCM Eggrolls is known for its footlong egg roll on a stick. I had to get one to say that I've had one. It was yummy. It was full of filling. It was crispy. I enjoyed it. I had a tough time deciding which brownie I wanted from Original Hockey Mom Brownies. I settled for the buttercream swirl brownie. OMG! It was delicious. The buttercream was delightful. The brownie was moist and chewy. It does run sweet, so beware of a sugar rush and a bit of a crash afterwards. The man at the truck loved how happy I was to get my brownie. I was beaming because I hadn't had a brownie in ages. This truck does have a secret menu, which was great to know. I paid cash at both food trucks. They both accept credit cards. Even with the food trucks, there was plenty of parking at this Cub Foods. I should get groceries at Cub Foods next time. I do know a lot about their parking lots and food trucks these days. =) (80)

Staff just ok. Don't seem to be that focused on customer. I don't like the deposit for the carts so I have avoided using these so far. I do understand car theft is an issue. This might be the biggest reason I love Aldi's. They're not messing around. The prices at Aldi's are great. If you're looking for brand name, don't come here. The brands are not ones you find often, but it's quality, not crap. They can give you much better prices because they've cut costs elsewhere. Like making their associates more efficient in multi tasking so they don't need to hire many. There aren't any loose carts in the lot because you need to bring a quarter to get one, you get your quarter back when you return it, this frees up the associates from corralling them. No bags either. You bring your own, or buy theirs. The location in Mahtomedi is always clean, they have an amazing selection of gourmet cheese, it changes often. The first time I came here I stocked up on goat cheese because I was afraid they only had it for a limited time. It's $1.99 here, and $3.99 at Festival Foods down the street! Anyhow, the goat cheese wasn't a limited time. I bought way too many logs. The produce so far has been better than what I've seen at big retailers in terms of freshness. You don't have a huge selection in fruits and veggies, but the essentials are here, and there are organic options. You also need to buy most items in packages, there's no single purchase of much. You would buy a sack of potatoes, or a pack of zucchini, not a single item. I can't give them a five because I still need to visit Cub or Festival food for items they don't have. In particular I really wish they had basil, there's cilantro and green onions, but I feel like basil should be a must too. I'd also like to see maybe a couple fresh fish selections, like salmon and some sort of white fish. There are frozen bags, but fish it so much better fresh. However, I do like that they have random items from time to time at great deals, like the smoked salmon and prosciutto ham. If you're one of those uppity people that refuse to purchase food from anywhere but Whole Foods or Lunds, you're an idiot, and deserve to keep wasting your money. If not, give Aldi's a try. I use to get coupons at other retailers and get excited, until I realized that Aldi's is always the sale prices compared to others, no more coupon clipping or me. The cart thing, and no bags, isn't that bad when you get use to it. You also leave feeling great about how much you spent on your full cart.
