I ordered a mower from the SOBs online. Paid for 2-3 day delivery. I called to see where it was and they told me it's back ordered till October when it will actually be constructed. The website said nothing about it being back ordered. No big deal at this point. I asked them to cancel the order and refund my money. They said they can't until some number generates in their system but gave no timeline as to when that ill happen. I asked to talk to a manager and was told I'll get a call back in 24-48 hours. They committed blatant fraud by not saying anything about it not being available and still charging for 2-3 day delivery then committed theft by not giving me my money back. Cub Cadet customer service is a JOKE. I would say something else but it would probably get deleted. .On September 11, 2023, I purchased at Cub Cadet Battery-Powered Lithium-Ion Tractor (Lawnmower) with a 30" cutting blade from Home Depot because it was on sale. That should have alerted me but it did not at that time. It was working fine until August 2025. The lawnmower just stopped in the middle of cutting my yard. I thought the battery had died. I got off and pushed it to where I could recharge the battery. I connected the battery charger and nothing lit up on the LED screen. I disconnected the charger and tried again. Nothing! I checked all the wires to and from the battery and they were all good. A neighbor came over and checked the fuse in the line to the battery it was good. Since there was a 4 year warranty on the battery UC I called Cub Cadet several times. Every time I called I kept getting a guy named Rob who was absolutely no help at all. The first couple of times he told me that the batter had to be diagnosed to see what was wrong with it. He told me the different companies near me to take the lawnmower to in order to have a diagnoses run. The 10 companies I spoke with do not diagnose lithium-Ion batteries because either the equipment that Cub Cadet is too expensive to get or they are out of stock. The last time I spoke with Rob, I told him I wanted a new battery sent to me. He said they are too expensive to send out and that is why the diagnostics has to be done to make sure it is the battery. I told him the people he recommends do not do diagnostics and you should not recommend people to those stores. He said unless the field rep tells them that, they have no way of knowing who does what. Today, September 30, 2025, I called Cub Cadet again and got Frank. Since I had not spoken to him before I gave him the whole story. No help at all. He suggested an Ace Hardware near me!! I told him they do not diagnose the electric lawnmower. I asked to speak with a Supervisor. I got a gentleman named Jacob. I explained the whole situation to him. He also told me that the Ace Hardware in Douglasville, GA will diagnose the problem. I told him none of the Ace Hardware stores will diagnose the problem. I want something done, either a new charger to see if that was the problem or a new battery. It's costing me money to have my yard cut when I could be saving money and cutting the yard myself. He finally said that I will receive an e-mail requesting a copy of the sales receipts and that they would more than likely reimburse the amount I paid for the lawnmower. It took over two months to get this response. I got the lawnmower on sale so it's not a big reimbursement, but at least I'm getting something. I guess I can use the dead lawnmower as a yard decoration or sell it for scrap metal. read more

If I could give zero as how satisfied I am with this company I would. On may 16th 2024 I ordered a simple bolt for my lawn mower. After a few days I attempted to use their tracking system to see if my order had been shipped since I had not received any emails confirming shipment. The system simply sent me back to the my invoice page. After another couple of days I used their only phone number posted in an attempt to contact them. After waiting on line for at least 30 minutes I gave up. I attempted to use their chat system, but had the same problem of waiting at least another 30 minutes for someone to start the chat. After 30 minutes or so I gave up. After a few more days I attempted to call again an got a recording that they were having technical problems and were "closed down". By this point I was so frustrated I decided to simply cancel the order. Next day I called and got a recording that they were closed for a "company meeting" On May 23rd I decided I would wait on hold until someone answered. At the same time I got on their chat system and after about 40minutes someone came on line. Basically they told me they could not help me cancel the order and told me to call a number they gave me. I called that number and after another 40 minutes or so got someone who also could not help me and transferred me. I'm now on two and a half hours and still have not been able to cancel the order. Called Cub Cadet and after waiting on hold for 15 min decided to try contacting them via email. No email to be found, so I messaged via chat on their website..after waiting 15 min online in chat (mysteriously going from spot number one to spot number 2 a couple of times).. they said that "customer service" handles returns.. huh? What did I just contact then?? I also reached out on facebook messenger..only to be told that I must call the toll free number. So I boldly dialed the number again fully prepared for the long and uncertain wait time ..only to find there is an issue with the call and it won't go through... been trying for an hour from different phones and no luck. I have had my Cub Cadet lawnmower in the warranty recommend shop for a month now. Received a call from shop telling they could not fix it. Asked what I needed to do and was told I needed to call Cub Cadet, so I did. Was on hold for 1 hour when customer service finally picked up was told by customer service that the shop would have to call and tell them that, then was put on hold for service tech which was 35 minutes. Finally hung up as no one picked up. I received this text today with a new case # and they would call today. I called the number and waited 30 minutes no one picked up so hung up. Let me make this perfectly clear, DO NOT PURCHASE Cub Cadet products!!!!! I purchased the Cub Cadet 21" High Rear Wheel Gas Walk-Behind gas push mower on April 3, 2018. The motor has seized up. Cub Cadet denied the 3 year warranty due to 'lack of lubrication'. The oil level was NOT low. The mower was WELL maintained! I feel it is more than reasonable for a consumer to expect a product to perform longer than 7 MONTHS when it has had very MINIMAL use! This mower was used for light trimming purposes. NO ONE should consider purchasing Cub Cadet products when the quality they are receiving is completely substandard, coupled with inferior customer service. read more

We bought a Cub Cadet ZT mower in July (2021) from Tractor Supply. When I say 'we', I mean my 89 yr. old aunt. She has a large yard and field that she mows and wanted a new mower that she wouldn't have to worry about the cost to maintain like her old one. The mower never worked right. You could only mow for a half hour before it would shut off and wouldn't restart. TS said to contact CC and we tried for hours and hours of holding separate times contacted their authorized service provider who had it for 3 weeks and said nothing was wrong with it and suggested we disconnect the safety switch under the seat. We wrote a letter and did not get a reply. We finally got a hold of someone at support who gave us a case number and the number to another authorized service (out of town) who charged us to pick it up and bring it back and said nothing was wrong with it but they did not mow with it. I just spent three hours with customer service and talked with three different people. The last one I opted to have them call me back and they never have. When I tried to call them back they have now closed for the day. Cub Cadet and their 'authorized service providers' and Tractor Supply have used and abused this little old lady. Cub Cadet's online sales website is misleading and Cub Cadet's Customer Support is poor. On April 22, 2019, I purchased a Cub Cadet XT2 GX54D Lawn Tractor from Cub Cadet online. Being disabled, the advertised and promoted "FastAttach blade system for easy blade changes" was very appealing to me on their higher priced XT2 GX54D. With the Lawn Tractor shipping to California, at checkout their website automatically updated my order to an XT2 GX54D that met California "CARB standards" (California Air Resources Board regulates engine emissions). No mention anywhere on the Cub Cadet website or in the checkout menu or web pages that the model lawn tractor (still listed as an XT2 GX54D) that Cub Cadet sent to me would no longer have the FastAttach blade system! Without information on Cub's website, there is no way to know that an easy blade change system would be deleted for "CARB standards"! The mower arrived April 30th and the moment I added gas and drove the ~700 lb tractor off its shipping pallet to evaluate it, I was informed by Cub Cadet Customer Support that it could not be returned and that they were unwilling to help in any way. Although I mailed a formal complaint May 2, 2019 to Cub Cadet, I have not received a response. Be wary of Cub Cadet's online sales as their website is misleading and deceptive causing a bait and switch of lawn tractor purchase while Cub Cadet's Customer Support will offer you minimal assistance. read more

Ordered parts for my walk behind. Supposed to be 3-5 day delivery. It's now 8 days and no parts. Tracked the order and found out it was sent UPS and landed in a UPS facility 5 miles from it's final destination. From there it was handed off to USPS, sent 50 miles (one way) to a USPS sorting facility, only to come back physically passing the UPS facility it started at, to my USPS office. As I don't get home delivery, I now have to drive across town to go get it today. Hopefully. Had it been left with UPS I would have had it yesterday. Calling customer service is a joke. Exit 122 outdoor power equipment tells me that there is only a 30 day warranty on this product per CUB CADET. You tell me otherwise. A year ago I had to have the clutch pulley assembly replaced in my 2018 Cub Cadet Challenger 750 UTV. My local dealer showed me that the spline shaft in the original one had been completely stripped out after only 35 hours of use on the machine. I am in my 40s and do not abuse my equipment. I use the UTV to get the mail, I keep up on its maintenance, and keep it garaged. Since my UTV was barely out of the warranty period, I paid $1500.00 for a new "Improved" clutch pulley assembly to be installed by the Cub Cadet dealer. The new one appeared to have been redesigned some from the original one. It looked like the area of the spline shaft had been beefed up with more metal as if this was a known problem and Cub Cadet tried to remedy it. That gave me at least a little confidence that maybe the machine would be reliable going forward. 10 months (and only 30 more hours on the machine) later I was driving the UTV all of a sudden it lost power and made grinding noises from the transmission area under the seat. I was able to winch it onto my trailer to haul it to the dealer again. They pulled it apart and exactly the same thing happened to the new clutch. I hoped that since this new clutch was less than a year old, that Cub Cadet would give me a new one at no charge. But they did not. Without even looking at it, they said that the Cub Cadet authorized dealer must have installed it incorrectly and that they would do nothing for me. So instead of trying to promote trust and faith in their product, they threw their dealer under the bus and left me with another $1500.00 repair bill. I had high hopes for this UTV when it was fixed the first time. I purchased upper doors, a cab heater, and a snow plow (that I never got to use) for it. So now I am even more invested in it. It's my own fault, I should have learned my lesson the first time around. Make no mistake, this company does not care about you. Do yourself a favor and avoid buying anything with their name on it. I know that I will never own a piece of Cub Cadet equipment ever again, and will tell this story to anyone else that is considering it. read more
