CTB Financial Services is not a large, faceless investment firm, nor are we stock-pickers with a "secret" investment methodology.
We are a privately owned, independent investment advisory firm. And because of our strategic partnerships, our investment reach is much more sophisticated and global in nature than you might expect. Dedicated to providing quality financial advisement and personal customer service, we bring together over three decades of tax, estate planning, and investment knowledge to help you make the your smartest financial decisions.
History
Established in 2000.
CTB Financial Services was established in 2000, building on the brand and accomplishments of a 40 year old, traditional CPA firm. We focus on bringing an independent perspective, deep technical knowledge, compassion, education and a comprehensive approach to successful families and individuals.
Founded, owned and operated jointly by Chuck Brown and Jonathan Liang, CTB Financial Services operates as a Registered Investment Advisor. Only independent advisors have an ethical and legal duty to put their clients first. As such, we have a fundamental obligation to act and provide advice that is only ever in your best interests.
Meet the Business Owner: Jonathan L.
My father came to America from China to attend college in the American South of the late 1950's, where he was considered 'colored.' After school he married a white, Southern woman. My Dad never really talked about that time of his life. I can only imagine what it must have been like. My Mom passed away when I was young, and Dad received the normal Social Security benefit for minor kids. He took that monthly benefit and invested it using mutual funds. He used that money to pay for college for me and my two sisters. After college, Dad guided me into investing my own savings. While Dad's early life in this country may have been challenging, we did find access to the capital markets easy. A lot has changed since then. Investment tools are more varied. Access has gotten better. And while racial prejudice lingers on, things are changing there, too. My own experiences have created a passion for working with people and their finances.
