I like campus stores, especially really good ones like this one. This campus store is really big compared to some of the ones I've seen . They have the typical school apparel and school accessories that you need for classes. I thought the prices though for the clothes were outrageous, but if you want a school t-shirt showing their logo, what you gonna do?!?! They did have a sale rack which was great, but the leftover sizes and styles were so-so. I didn't see a dressing room though. The student who assisted us at checkout was really nice.

Pro-tip: It's adjacent to Laidrey with direct access inside, making it the perfect stop after a coffee!

From the moment I walked in, Sunny and her mom Miriam made me feel like I'd stepped into something out of a Hallmark movie. The shop is warm, thoughtfully curated, and radiates the kind of charm that's hard to fake. The front of the store is a cozy mix of beautifully displayed teacups, candles, face oils, and other small-business treasures -- eclectic in the best way. As you move through, you'll find not just books, but stories waiting to be discovered, each one handpicked by Sunny with clear attention and care. If she doesn't have what you're looking for, she'll gladly order it and get it to you quickly -- that kind of service is rare. It's also not your average flower shop. Their dried floral arrangements are lovely, but it's Miriam's custom designs that really shine. She has a natural talent for combining color, texture, and mood -- it's like she's creating bouquets with soul. While I haven't yet had the chance to attend one of Sunny's in-store events, I've talked with her about some of the gatherings she puts together -- and it's clear how much heart and thought goes into every single one. She works hard to bring in respected authors and local artists that her customers will connect with, and she's constantly brainstorming new ways to make the shop a meaningful space for the community. It's that kind of intention and passion that sets this place apart. Since that first visit, Sunny's has become one of my regular stops -- a place that feels like home. Every customer is greeted like a friend, and it always amazes me how many names and faces Sunny and Miriam remember. It's more than a bookshop -- it's a place built with love, care, and a true sense of community.

This store is exactly what I mean. I loved the open book in Northridge when it was on Tampa and still when it moved inside the mall. Was excited when this location opened. I am a sucker for old books and this place has ample with a really cool ambiance to it. Kinda like a nerdy library. I say that because they also have comics, collectibles and even have a section for banned books. As if you're buying something taboo. Staff is always friendly, place is organized so you know where to look, they always have some type of deal going on. So great value no matter what you buy. So if you're in the hunt for something to read, just skip Amazon for a change and support your local bookstore. Let's keep brick and mortar stores alive!

All books, to my knowledge and memory, were sorted alphabetically by author last name. Prices were shockingly reasonable! It became too easy to rack up the total price; six books for fifty dollars! Perhaps it is an issue alone to compare, but one would not be able to get as many books of this quality at similar prices in bookstores like Barnes & Noble. I am unsure if the total price was altered by the "buy one, get one half off" sale that was active the day I purchased from The Open Book. I approached two staff members to see if they had a specific book available; the book was not in stock, but both staff members were very easy to approach, friendly, and genuinely helpful! I would recommend anyone to bear with the parking and traffic to check this shop out!

Not so much that you are going to be overwhelmed, but unique enough that you find things you never anticipated. I really love the alternative indie stuff they had, i love that they also carried sound tracks from movies. Just a really great selection and they had a bit of everything. I left with an album from Big Frieeda, the queen diva you besta beliva. I didn't know I needed that, but hell yes. I also love that they have their own merch and sets of t-shirts that they make. Some of the shirts are also LGBT represented, which is always a plus in my book! Service was good, the guy rang us up quickly and was polite. Value of records are no different from other places, so neither good or bad. They also have another shop next door that has alternative stuff and a museum in the back. Behind Denny's, Total Wine, Floyd's Barber Shop, and Aldi (among others) off Tampa Avenue just before the Nordhoff Street and Tampa intersection (across from the Northridge Fashion Center). This Spirit Halloween has a good amount of parking in a shared lot and a generously spacious layout inside. The displays are fun and of course, has the store's signature bright fluorescent lighting rather than a little more Halloweeny feel like Halloween Town (in Burbank)... but it's a chain thing #InTheSpiritofSpiritHalloween I stopped in to browse the inventory as well as pick up a prop I ordered a week or so ago that they had called to remind me about the day before. While the inventory is pretty varied for jewelry, props, decorations, and more in a lot of things they definitely have limited sizing for popular costumes in-store, though you can order something online (get that 20% off one item - current sale for online and/or in-store purchase) which I'd assume can be transferred from other locations or shipped directly to this store/location. Pick-up orders are almost seamless!! Samantha and the manager on duty (I'm guessing ) by how incredibly knowledgeable she was we're super helpful and thorough. I waited less than a few minutes and had my order number and ID ready to make things even easier for them. They're open until 9PM every day and until 7PM on Sundays. She then told me to look on Instagram but there were no current 20% off coupons there or on the website or anywhere else that I could find. So basically I had to pay an extra $3.67. Not happy. The managers should have an override button in this situation.
