No place is perfect and every once in a while I've had tk really press in against a provider who tried to take shortcuts instead of address g the underlying issue. Till one day, I just couldn't take it anymore and came to VALB for mental help. Dr. Smita asked me some questions that day and handed me over to Physician Assistant Sue Tin for follow-up care. I had a video appointment with Sue Tin. I told her that a year after I returned from Iraq in 2007, traumatic thoughts kept reappearing, making me angry, and it kept getting worse and worse. She said it's an anger issue and put me on Quetiapine, which didn't do anything but made me sleep, and woke up feeling tired and drugged up. Then I had an appointment with a senior Psychologist Dr. James Edward. Before the appointment, I had to take a test, but I didn't know what the test was for. I was shocked when Dr. Edward told me that I have severe symptoms of PTSD. I argue with him, saying that it's impossible for me to have PTSD because I was never in any combat. So I went through 6 weeks of group therapy and left the program. One day, a childhood friend of mine noticed that I had changed a lot ever since I returned from Iraq and told me about non-combat PTSD. I applied, was carefully examined by a VA doctor, and was awarded 70% compensation. HOW MANY MORE MENTALLY WOUNDED VETERANS WILL SUE TIN BE ALLOWED TO JUST DISSMISSED AND LEFT TO DIE HOMELESS ON THE STREET? SHE NEVER SERVED A DAY IN THE MIDDLE EAST. WE DID, AND WHEN WE WERE ABOUT TO BLOW OUR OWN BRAIN OUT FROM TRAUMATIC THOUGHTS REAPPEARING AND CAME TO VA HOSPITAL FOR HELP, WE GOT SOME SH### LIKE SUE TIN.

So my daughter was taken to this ER after hemorrhaging after sinus surgery there. The staff sat…read morearound laughing and chatting and literally singing and discussing the lyrics to the diarrhea song. Loud. Obnoxious. Annoying. They had patients in every room and instead of attending to them they were having a little party amongst themselves. I did notice that once the doctor got there for second shift they calmed down. It was unbelievable the unprofessionalism they displayed. People who are having emergencies don't want to hear that. The guy in the bed next to her pulled his IV out and bled all over the floor and they didn't notice until 20 minutes later and had to clean it all up. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I gave it 2 stars because the nurse she had was doing his best. He was the only one "working". Such a sad display of immature people. Her doctor orders her an MRA , not and MRI , and they did the wrong scan on her and now she has to go back and have the correct scan in a few days. Maybe if they had been paying attention to their work instead of goofing off they would have done the right scan to start with and she wouldn't have to sit all weekend with packing in her sinuses still bleeding waiting for the right scan to determine where the bleeding is coming from.

I usually don't write reviews on hospitals, it's staff or treatment and care of patients,…read moreespecially in- patient care. This one affects me personally and needs to be brought to public attention. If you are considering going to this hospital for treatment for yourself or a loved one, don't do it! Go to any hospital other than this one! Let me share: Recently, two close friends of mine, trusted this hospital for care of their beloved aging dad who was having breathing problems. They took their dad to the ER believing this was the best route to get immediate care for him. After hours of waiting unseen and untreated by a doctor or nurse who finally examined their dad which resulted in the doctor suggesting he be admitted for tests and treatment. My friends were naturally concerned for their dad and trusted that he would get the best possible treatment while in this hospital, so they agreed he being admitted for care. Unfortunately and sadly, this was not the case. My friends were met by rude medical staff. Their dad was left in a room with very little attention and uncared for. When medical staff finally did come to treat him, it was for a procedure that required inserting a tube into him to help him breathe, this procedure which resulted in them puncturing his lung and causing internal bleeding must have been done by a butcher, because the procedure caused multiple other health problems that compromised his heart and all his vital organs. He was at this hospital for several days with little and often no care. His room was dirty, his meals were late, he was left in pain and needed meds to give him comfort. Those needs were not met! Whenever my friends asked for help for him they were met by rude nurses and other medical staff. Apparently, elderly patients who are ailing and weak dont matter to the staff at this facility. Even the security guard on duty was rude and intimidating towards my friends. It's obvious that the procedure he initially had which punctured his lung and the neglect in treatment for the damage done by unprofessional staff led to his death. He would be alive today if only the medical staff had cared enough to treat him properly. My friends are deeply saddened and naturally devastated by the loss of their dad. I hope they sue this hospital, it's staff, and the Security Guard. I also hope this hospital gets closed down by the state of California Medical Board. Since this tragedy I've heard numerous complaints and stories about the treatment or lack of , at this hospital. I repeat don't go to this hospital for care because you wont get it especially if you are elderly! If I needed medical attention, I would rather go to a Veterinarian for treatment! Please share this review with your friends and loved ones so they don't make the same fatal mistake.
