Disappointed with CSL Plasma -- Donor Pay Has Dropped BIG Time I used to be a regular donor at CSL Plasma because the compensation was fair and competitive. It made sense to give my time -- the staff was friendly, the process was quick, and the pay was good compared to other centers in the area. Lately, though, they've drastically cut the payment for new donors, and honestly it feels like a bait-and-switch. New donors used to be paid well -- enough that it really helped. Now, the payout is barely anything compared to what it used to be. It's frustrating to say the least! I won't be returning until they up the payments like before read more

CSL Plasma - payout from almost three years ago - Blood & Plasma Donation Centers Near Me - Riverside, California

See all

It's gone downhill. The donor compensation is in the gutter. As other reviews stated, the donor experience is not the priority. Chronically understaffed. They make huge bank off these donations, yet refuse to pay the $22/hour or whatever the staff earns. So everyone loses: staff is overworked, tired and doesn't care; donors get a terrible experience. Eventually this will catch up with CSL. Been donating plasma since 2021 and it looks like 2025 or 2026 will be my last year donating. I certainly won't ever return to CSL again. read more

All the Reviews are years old, I went for the first time a couple days ago. All i'm gonna say Is that I went in worried and came out surprised. But don't go if you have something to do, it takes time. But anyways great staff and they know what they're doing! read more

This place is a joke. First few visits were ok. Than the app says you are getting paid Beth g but then you show up and it's a lot less. When questioned about what I believe is false advertising they told me you can go off there app. I returned for my second visit 6 days later and they tell me it is lower amount because I did not return same week. Then needle moved at end of my donation and they just pulled it out and gave me Gatorade. Told me I can return by sat for my second donation. I show up and they tell me because the needle came out I am not able to donate till August. Why did they not 1 adjust the needle like they have other times. Or better yet tell me then that I cannot donate for over a month and save me from wasting my time. Poor management. read more

Not stars due to lack of customer service. Not sure if this is the norm since this is my first time. They appear to be very short staffed. I've been here 1 hr and a half and I'm still waiting in the waiting room to start services and be able to donate. Not sure how much longer one has to wait but I might end up leaving sooner. I ended up finishing the procedure and left by 1:30pm. I got there at about 8:30am. Justin was the nurse who did my physical very professional. Kind. Rico was very sweet and personable. 1 star for the long wait. The security guard was very sweet as well. read more

I'd give no stars if that was an option. CSL makes it impossible to start donating. I am a healthy and fit man, but have been unable to donate after 3 visits because of their policies. This is after donating 10 times at Biolife. Save time and just go to BioLife. read more

Hiii, I've been a returning donor for forever now and while the whole staff is Always Amazing, Jordy/jordie IS ALWAYS such a joy to see and to be helped by and honestly just makes the whole experience for everyone better. If you ever see her, she's always smiling and helpful and happy and I hope she receives some recognition for it besides this because she really, really, Really deserves it--Shes the Best read more

this place is PERMANENTLY under staffed !!!! Bright and early on a week day expect LONG lines and barely any staff on site. These people lolligag around and donor experience is NOT their priority. One staff member taking vitals while the line is wrapped. Just a simple heads up from a fed up donor. read more

So I have been here now 187 times, and I WILL be leaving it at that. This place is horrible and I won't be rewarding their horrible way of interacting with customers like myself by continuing my business with them. Some of the issues I've had: - Excessive wait times. Admittedly, this has been addressed as of late, but this change is rather recent and still sometimes pops up. - Poor customer service. Emphasis on POOR. I don't know what it is about the employee culture here, but there are myriad issues here. Whether it's the check-in personnel being combative, annoyed, or passive aggressive, the security locking up the doors before the closing time and then blatantly lying when asked about why they are doing that, or the staff in the back either being incredibly slow or rather rough in sticking you, this has caused nothing but frustration and anger for me. What's even worse is trying to address these issues with leadership and getting... - Leadership that has no answer to these problems. While the management seems to take these problems seriously, they have admitted that they've done everything they believe they can do to address the concerns. This is a business that deserves to lose its customers and one that I hope loses its customers so they are forced to better handle themselves. There are other plasma donation centers in the area that are much better rated and I'd argue will treat you better than the staff here will. Whether you need the weekly money or are passionate about helping others, there are certainly places willing to facilitate this that will respect you as a customer and human. Riverside CSL absolutely will not do that, and I firmly believe the only way they will change is if people choose to use their competitors and force Riverside CSL to become more inventive or creative in addressing the problems they have. read more

So I noticed that during my surfing on Facebook the last month or so, that I was getting quite a few ads for plasma donation centers to earn extra money and help save lives. I admit, CSL Plasma was one business that kept popping up the most; and they were running a nice promotion; so I thought why not give it a try? This location is located in Riverside in a shopping plaza near the corner of University and Chicago...somewhat near UCR. As a new donor I admit I was a bit nervous about what to expect and what the process would entail. Let me say this...the staff was super-friendly and welcoming! They were very informative about the process, what to expect, the risks and benefits and everything else. I had tons of questions and they answered them all! I gave them a history of my medical conditions, the medications I took and hey gave me a mini-physical to make sure I was eligible. Good news is that I was! The donation process itself was easier than I expected, and the phlebotomists there were really good too. I barely felt it when they slipped the 17 gauge needle into my arm to prep me. Watching the plasmapheresis machine at work, separating my plasma into a bottle and returning my red blood cells to me was fascinating to watch; and the friendly techs and nurses would mill around checking on me from time to time. So far I've donated 3 times and plan to donate twice a week. It's easy extra money plus you are helping save lives at the same time. The only drawback is this company has an age limit for donors. If you are 65 or over you can't donate with them. This was a bit of a bummer for my wife who is 67, though she was able to find a similar place that accepts donors to age 99. Overall, though, I really have enjoyed my experiences here. Once they open their location in closer-by Rialto I'll be transferring to there - but know that you'll have a great experience here at the Riverside location. read more

Miesha drew my plasma and was gentle and kind; she didn't fish for my veins and checked up on me periodically. Larini assisted in my health assessment and was knowledgeable by answering my questions and concerns. Laura did my physical and was nice, funny, and smart. She made me laugh when she was screening my body since I was nervous due to the fact that I haven't donated plasma in years....Laura explained what she was doing and why and how donating plasma would or could affect my body- overall health. Paola did my vitals and took my picture; she as well was friendly/ polite/ professional. The whole staff made me happy about making a difference and paying it forward. I'm pleased to donate my plasma and blood for a blessed cause. read more

CSL Plasma - CSL Plasma; waiting 2 do my physical - excited- healthy as can BEEEEEE.......... Lol - Blood & Plasma Donation Centers Near Me - Riverside, California

All the staff is nice perfect with everything they answer question and they make the process go easy and quick

the first two times it went flawless, but my third donation was so bad. when the phlebotomist stuck the needle in me, she didn't stick it in deep enough, so when it came to the round of the blood being pumped back, it got stuck and all the blood got trapped under my skin and popped my vessels. i was visibly uncomfortable and told them it hurt and they just looked at me and told me to wait and that they'll come to me... no sense of urgency at all and this was all while i was audibly telling them it hurt. they then took the needle out and just tried with the other arm and didn't apologize or check up on me or anything and just gave me ice to help with the swelling. it left the biggest bruise on my arm and it still hurts three days later. i got 100 dollars tho lol i'll probably come back again because the first two times were fine so maybe this was just a one time mistake. i just wish they would come help me faster next time and maybe this would've all been prevented edit: couple days later and it looks 10x worse now... don't know how to heal it or what to do about it read more

Place sucks staff is cool but these two weeks have been a mess, new machine was supposed to be 30 minutes abd today was the longest it's ever taken wait time having to rescan and drawing process I spent over 3 hours not worth the money won't be returning read more

Usually this place is on point. But tonight, add I'm sitting in this chair for 20 minutes AFTER I am completely finished with a needle in my arm I'm quite pissed. Jared, a "Senior phlebotomist" was my tech. Him and the rest of the team, minus the other gentleman on the floor, wasted so much time chatting about hanging out with each other it took 20 minutes AFTER he got to my chair Judy to stick me. Lots of pausing to talk to the other phlebotomists in the floor. I pump fast and if they do their job I'm in and out of the chair in 45 minutes. I'm now at an hour and 15 minutes as I type this and have been finished for 25 minutes! This is highly unprofessional read more

After writing a review about how lousy their communication is they sent a reply. JUST THE TRANSCRIPT of the typing. No sorry you had a hard time. No sorry we are having difficulties. No response at all except the transcript lol, which proved my point. this is ghetto set up. They obviously ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL. They are like little children with bad attitudes. What a joke read more

If I can give one star I would, I'm waiting for 20 minutes for a dc and I was ahead of the people they let go first the only person in the back I wouldn't give a bad rating is the red head who stuck me. She was great as always. They don't care about their jobs or caring for patients. Very disappointed today to top it off the manager said he doesn't know how they got lost in translation you need a better fucking system a bunch of dummies honestly. Mind you I typed this while waiting and it ended up being a 45 minute wait while I watched them disconnect everyone else and the manager said I'll make sure they get you next when I'm the last person jee thanks read more

The first time I came to CSL PLASMA to donate it took a very long time, 4 hours; but this is ONLY because they are unbelievably thorough in their screening process! If you're thinking that the process is going to be fast.... It will NOT be. Bring a book. Bring a portable phone charger. Bring a sweater or little blanket or a little stuffy to hold. Bring your patience & knowledge in knowing that the first time...will take a long time. Then when you do your second and third donation and so on, it becomes less and less time. Once you get the rhythm of how this process works, it's a breeze! Eat a good meal and drink plenty of water HYDRATE! The staff are very sweet and likable! After your first donation make sure you Download the CSL APP and complete the Health History Questionnaire before you arrive to the center so you can jump in the first line to scan your QR code after taking the health questionnaire and then take your vitals. Know that you are helping others by donating your plasma and that is a blessing and it's a blessing for you to be able to get extra income for the work you're doing too. Happy Hearts read more

In wrapping up my escapade at CSL Plasma, I must regrettably report that my previous high regard for the establishment has taken a bit of a nosedive - a two-star nosedive, to be precise. Let's dissect this newfound perspective, shall we? Picture this: I waltz in a mere 15 minutes before the place draws its curtains for the day. Now, I've pulled off this feat a handful of times, not intentionally mind you, but I've always been accommodated as long as I'm there before the grand finale. So, I casually approach the new addition to their security force - an individual who could write a manual on unlikable vibes. I extend a friendly query, a "Hey there, is it too late to work my philanthropic magic?" kind of greeting. And what do I get? The dude avoids eye contact like I'm the harbinger of his impending doom. A few seconds of my existence seem to irk him like a pebble in his shoe. But the fun doesn't end there, oh no. As I'm undergoing my mandatory health evaluation by the receptionist, her sigh game is strong, indicating she'd rather be anywhere but in this moment. She tosses out the obligatory "What's your agenda for the day?" with an enthusiasm that rivals a sloth's response time. Newsflash, folks - if chit-chat isn't your jam, I'm all for a silent procedure. Spare me the pleasantries. Oh, and here's the pièce de résistance: Mid-checkup, Miss Sunshine-in-a-bottle decides to share a hearty chuckle with her coworker, suggesting they hand the keys to our ever-charming security guard and lock the door to thwart any last-minute do-gooders. Classy move, right? And then, as I await my turn to be pricked and prodded, one of their "technicians" - or whatever they call themselves - surveys the scene of eager donors behind me and drops the bomb: "Aren't we closed?" Cue the record scratch. Seriously, CSL Plasma, am I a stray cat trying to crash a fancy dinner party? Are donors really that unwelcome that the entire staff seems to emit a collective aura of "get lost", 15 minutes before closing? Listen, I get it - jobs can be a drag, especially the monotonous ones. But hey, if my kind is causing such a kerfuffle by arriving a tad late, maybe drop a hint about the preferred donor arrival time? A little "Hey, best to be here 30 minutes before the curtain call" sign would save us all the drama. So there you have it, CSL Plasma. A tale of a second encounter that felt more like a sitcom with grumpy characters than a smooth, well-coordinated endeavor. Here's hoping you can recapture some of that previous magic - you know, the one where you treated donors like VIPs and not the latecomer pests at a party. Three stars, if you must know, but the sass - well, that's a bonus from me to you. xoxo gossip girl read more

The staff here works so slowly. A snails pace. No sense of urgency. So sloooowwwwwwwww

don't waste your time coming here. They are always "under staffed" but they refuse to hire more people. My husband was sitting in a chair for almost an hour waiting to be connected to the damn machine. And if their nurse fucks up and makes you bleed a lot or gets it on your clothes, they won't do shit about it. they ruined my husbands $85 jacket and stated "It says that you may get blood on your clothes in the contract" but when we asked them to show us where it says that they were "To busy" to show us I we treading the contract myself and nowhere did it say that. Wow...... today was a great day at CLS plasma Riverside Chicago St. It was beyond fully staffed. What a difference it makes when you have enough employees to accommodate the donors. I've done plasma donations before and this place was the worst!! Normally my veins are pretty easy to find and not only did they have problems finding them, it hurt really bad...it's never hurt before. Plus they had an issue with one are and had to switch to another one. Also their equipment is very old and outdated, which is weird because I didn't realize donating plasma had been around for so long. If you want to donate plasma try Biolife in Moreno Valley, they have updated equipment and their staff knows how to find a pain free vein. read more

This place is grossly understaffed. What should be an hour is more like two. Don't come here unless you have time to burn.

I went in hoping to donate . Waited 6 hours just to donate!!! While waiting i drank 3-4 water bottles because it was better to be hydrated to have a successful plasma donation. After those 6 hours it was finally my turn. Before I was seated in the chair / bed cause you do lie down I noticed that the blood pressure arm band was dirty! Full of dirt and stains. I said to the girl "it's dirty" she looks at it and says oh yes it is let me clean it . After cleaning it with a disinfecting spray but the dirt don't come out . So I kindly asked if they can just give me a new band to use to check my blood pressure . Which they did but made faces to my request! So unprofessional. Then a male walks in and takes over my plasma donation. At first he was very nice , and polite. Everything was going well until he poked me wrongly. He was moving the needle while being inside of me causing me discomfort. He asked someone else to look at it and they told him to remove it. Then he goes to my other arm and the same thing happen . I looked down on my arm and huge ball was inside of my arm. He then try to say I didn't drink enough water. After being poked twice unsuccessfully and injured I asked if it was okay if I could lie down for couple minutes because I felt dizzy . He agree but then came back 2 minutes later being disrespectful asking me to leave. After I had just asked him I needed a couple minutes to get myself together. His whole attitude changed after he wasn't successful with the plasma drawn. I walk out furious and ask to speak to a supervisor. Which I do and then he walks up as I am speaking to the supervisor stands next to her trying to intimate me to not speak on his behavior. I then asked to speak privately to her and he Interrupts and says to her "let me speak to you very quickly" she says no after I'm done with the client . She steps out with me and I tell her the whole situation. She was very distraught of what happened and immediately offers her apologies to me in regard her employee. This was the worst experience ever! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Staff are rude and unprofessional. They DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Seems to me that they are just learning. They have no experience !!!!!!!!!!!! read more
