I did not sign off on the installation because the stair carpeting was not completed properly. The carpet on the stairs does not adequately cover the width of the steps, leaving the sides exposed and unfinished in appearance. There are also exposed nails on the stairs, creating both a safety concern and an unacceptable finish. In addition, there is no transition piece at the bottom of the stairs where the carpet meets the lower floor, leaving an unsightly gap. At the top of the stairs, quarter-round molding was installed over the transition area, which has created another visible gap. I was also disappointed with the installers' handling of my property. Although I specifically requested that protective material be placed under their workboxes, none was used. They also placed a silk ottoman outside without any protection underneath it. Throughout the installation, they appeared to show little care for my furnishings and home. Additionally, the salesperson, Aaron, stated that the installation team would be able to address squeaky floors as part of the project. No attention was given to this issue during the installation. Since the installation, I have called Empire Today four times regarding these concerns. I eventually spoke with the installation manager, Carlos, who stated that someone would be scheduled to return and correct the stair installation issues. However, I have not been contacted by anyone, nor has any corrective work been performed. It has now been over a week since the installation, and none of the issues described above have been resolved. I am including photographs documenting the defects and poor workmanship. I am requesting that Empire Today promptly correct the installation deficiencies and address the concerns outlined in this complaint.

We went with this company only because they are connected with Costco, assuming that meant quality, transparency, and accountability. That assumption was completely wrong. We paid $8,500 for a water softener and RO system, and from day one it has been problem after problem. The system never alerted us about salt refills, and no one clearly explained this to us. As a result, the unit ran without salt for many months, which is extremely alarming and potentially damaging to plumbing, appliances, and water quality. This is not a small oversight -- it is a serious failure for a system at this price point. After installation, the company dramatically increased the price of RO filters, effectively trapping us into sky-high ongoing costs. Once the system is installed, you realize it is a never-ending money pit. You are locked in, with no reasonable alternatives, and the expenses keep adding up. The sales process is polished and convincing, but after the check is cashed, support and transparency disappear. The Costco association gives a false sense of security. Do not assume Costco's name means protection here -- it does not. If you are considering this system, please do yourself a favor and walk away. There are far better, more honest, and more affordable options available. This was a huge financial regret, and I strongly advise anyone reading this to stay as far away as possible.

After several months the filters needed replacement and the office advised that those filters had been recalled by the manufacturer and sent us a new set at no cost. After we had some issues with getting the system to work properly the agent in the office walked us through the installation and provided more detailed instructions. He followed up twice to be sure the new filters were working properly to our satisfaction. Customer service is among the best we have ever seen and we do not hesitate to recommend them for any and all service work and/or installation of a water filtration system. He brought several samples and walked us through what would be the best color to install in order to make the house look even better. He recommended we use Owen Corning Duration shingles and go with Williamsburg Grey. Once that was done, the shingles and the material were delivered the day before neatly stacked. The following day his crew and him were at our place at 7:30AM. His crew took meticulous care of our yard before starting. They stared around 8:30AM and were done before 7:00PM. NOT A SINGLE NAIL LEFT BEHIND! And, many code upgrades and changes to ensure rain water is moved away from the corners of the house. Thank you Ben and crew. The following week, his gutter folks showed up and installed our new gutters and downspouts -- upgrade to a 6" gutters. Again, not a single nail was left behind and our house looked great.
