I was impressed they took great care to prevent the chemicals used on my tile roof from draining off to the lake I live on. They blocked the down spouts and then sucked the fluid after they were done. All of my down spouts go underground to the lake. The roof looked great for 4 years. No lawn/plants killed either. The house was done very well as well and the painter was very pleased. I was not as happy that the electronics (video cameras, video door bell and special hot water pumps were shorted out due to the washing. This cost over $1000 in repairs. In the future tape off and cover the sedative electronic items.

He then asked for just over 1/3 of the total so he could buy materials. But, there was no written contract, nothing and he asked me to Zelle the money to his wife. I did so in good faith and he said he would provide me with a receipt for the paint, which after 3 days, never happened. I contacted him the day before he was supposed to start the job explaining that I was feeling uneasy since he hadn't provided me with a receipt for the material as he said. He told me he was getting it in the morning. In fact, he didn't even tell me with certainty after being paid for the material, what day or time he was going to start until I asked and pressed him on it. At this point I told him I felt uneasy with the whole transaction since I had no contract from him and he hadn't provided me with a receipt as he had promised. I asked him, for my comfort level and to show me he was legit to send me a photo of his drivers license. He said he understood and agreed to send me a picture of his license. I never received that picture and after a couple hours he informed me that he had Zelle'd back 2\3 of my deposit and would be sending the rest from a different account at a different bank. He sent screenshots showing he had done so but when I called my bank, they showed no pending zelle transactions, which the bank said should be there if he actually did so. So, I had to go to his house to ask for my money. He became belligerent and loud and vulgar. I explained to him that all I wanted was a pic of his license to show his intent to complete the work. He claimed that offended him. He screamed at me repeatedly saying I was threatening him. I never threatened him just asked for the balance of my deposit back. His demeanor changed back and forth several times during this contact and he agreed to drive to the bank to get me the balance of my deposit. So that begs the question of if he actually zelled the money like he said he did, why would he be willing to go to the atm and get the balance for me? This guy is a con artist, albeit not a very good one. And he still tried to say that he had every intention of doing the job but he hadn't even gotten the material after 3 days of receiving the money for the material and never gave me an exact day and time he was going to start the job until I pressed him for it. Also, I looked him up and found he had been charged with theft by deception in the past.
