We were extremely dissatisfied with our visit. To have only one guy running 5 different escape rooms is just sad. We waited 5 minutes for our first hint just to step out to hunt him down and find out that he didn't turn on his walkie talkie yet because he was too busy with other groups. Not to mention the fact that we still finished with about 15 minutes to spare and sat there messing with it for up until about 5 seconds left because he wasn't there to notice that we made it out. We ended up having to ask him what we were waiting on and have him realize we finished. To overbook and understaff like this baffles me. It was definitely our last time at Cryptex. read more

If you're looking for a great experience I would recommend this location. We've tried another escape room in Branson but the staff really made for a bad experience. Luckily we gave this location a try and had a great time in the Space themed room. Kyle the staff worker really made sure we had a great time. I have bad night vision and it's done in a darkened room so that's something to consider. This time we did the Tourist Trap and it was great. Very fun especially if you like maps and locations. This time Roman set the adventure up for us prior to entering the room. His enthusiasm made us feel like we were actually "the tourist" in this game and we needed to accomplish the task at hand. If you need help they gently guide you in the right direction. If I could give them more stars I would!! read more

We have played many locations and always love to try new ones. The staff was very friendly! The game play was average and the set design was average to slightly below average. This location does a lot of locks and that gets very frustrating and at least for this room, very little tech. The game also did require a slight amount of outside knowledge about obscure board games. By our best guess there is no GM room as the GM's would handle multiple rooms at once. I will say they were for the most part responsive when needed. If you are a first timer, it's a good start. If you are a seasoned gamer, this may not be the location for you. read more

My 80 year old parents and I visited Cryptex three times and had a blast. The props, puzzles, and staff are outstanding. I'd suggest the Tourist Trap for beginners, then the SteamPunk room, and then Sherlock Holmes. The staff is incredibly professional, and helpful ensuring everyone has a great time. If you're looking for quality family time that requires cooperation, observation and fun I'd suggest stopping by Cryptex. We had a ball. Thank you. Came to Branson for a short vacation. Decided at the last minute to try Cryptex escape room. We have done several escape rooms, so we decided to try their 90 minute Crypt room. When we arrived, we were greeted by Michael (we believe that was his name) and the owner. Both were friendly, and Michael walked us through the rules, how to use the walkie talkie, and requested a cat drawing on the white board (which we promptly made for him). The owner took us to the room, and explained some more of the specifics of the room. Both were very helpful. The room was very good, but not one that I would recommend for beginners. There was one puzzle that was very difficult and could become frustrating (took us about 10-15 minutes to complete). We were offered a solution by Michael, but we wouldn't have been eligible to try and beat the record so we passed. We competed the room within the 90 minutes, but didn't beat the record. We thought the room was well laid out, and had a nice mix of puzzles. We would have done another room, but we were leaving the next day before they opened. read more

First time experience for the family and grandparents in what is a giant puzzle/game that you solve over 60 minutes. We enjoyed "Pursuit of Steam", which had a satisfying theme with a nice mix of combination locks and physical puzzles. The employee was really friendly, knowing just when to offer some guidance and when to let us work through the solutions by ourselves. The best part was working together as a family. read more

This was such an awesome experience! This is the best escape room in Branson. They were super friendly and all the rooms are original and masterfully crafted. This is a must experience in town! And you gotta try the sushi place next door (Mitsu Neko), it's probably the best sushi place in the USA!! Period! read more

This place is just beyond amazing. The two staff we dealt with were so helpful and amazing. We went Saturday 11/8 and played the Crypt. The room was amazing. There was so much detail involved in it and it had a great story line. You are given walkie-talkies as a form of communication with the staff and there are cameras in the room so that the staff can watch you and boost you in the right direction if you're stuck. We didn't make it out of the room, but this room is probably one of the best team building rooms there are. We woke up again Sunday wanting to do more so we Returned back to the same place and completed the rest of the rooms. Once again, same staff, still amazing. They were very helpful With helping us decide which rooms to do. They truly went above and beyond. The crypt is one of the most expensive ones they have, but it is also an hour and a half and it is worth every penny. Whether you are new to escape rooms or have done 150. This is your place you want to go. It was very clean. The rooms had SO much detail and every room had a great theme going. When we come back to Branson we will for sure be visiting this place again! read more

OMG! BEST. FUN. EVER! So we stopped to eat Mitsu Niko Fusion and discovered that the owner of the restaurant also owned Cryptex. We had three kids with us ages 9, 8, and 7 and we all had a fantastic time. By far the best escape room that we have been to. In fact, we did a different company's escape room this morning because we had a Groupon and it was unsatisfactory. It was so bad that we just had to Cryptex because we knew it would take the bad taste out of our mouthes. Every stinking room is thoughtfully planned. It's fresh, clean, and clever. The story lines are great, and the themes with the rooms are awesome. The multiple rooms within one escape room is also pretty neat. The owners clearly are invested in this business and it shows all the hard work that they have put into it. We make this a stop every time we are in Branson. Also...if you get hungry they run an Asian fusion bar and grill next door that has seafood, chicken, and more. The atmosphere there is definitely something new and exciting to the Branson scene. Go on in and check it out...see if you can beat my best time this month ;) apparently you win something if you're in the top three by the end of the month. read more

We normally go to another escape room but it was booked so we decided to give this one a try. When we arrived we could tell very quickly that it was very disorganized. There were three groups doing three different escape rooms. We were all given instructions at the same time as we were all crowded into the very small lobby area. The female employee giving the instructions was very snippy and rude not only during the instructions but also after we had finished the room. The room was just mediocre and not very well thought out. It just did not "flow" like all the other escape rooms we have been to. On a positive note, the young man working there was very friendly. We were given a card to use for a 10% discount if we returned. If the female employee had not been so hateful I might consider giving them another try. read more
