I had my car's transmission serviced at this location and had to return my car twice within a week…read more Upon the first return, the problem appeared to be negligence as I just had my transmission serviced and the very next day transmission fluid began running out like water from a faucet. This business would not admit fault, just blamed it on a faulty cap. A week later my car would not start, at first thought it appeared to be the battery, but the battery is 2 year old battery and it tested out to be fine. I called this business and Alex offered to have it towed back. Magically, according to Alex there was nothing wrong with my car and it was just fine.....now he tells me that I owe for the tow which he offered. The other tows called by Mr. Transmission did not require payment. Alex never stated that I would be responsible for the tow. This business held my car hostage until I paid cash for the tow that he requested...$125.00 I would never recommend this company to anyone as I do not believe that they are honest. Not to mention that the employees are rude if you challenge/question there service methods.

The vehicle was then brought to another repair facility under warranty where I've just been told now after almost a year of dealing with the warranty I've discovered this a used transmission was installed and sold to me as a remanufactured transmission essentially robbing me and forcing me into so many other issues like Towing fees diagnostic fees, dealing with the back and forth lies excuses and complete failure in customer service the worst experience I've ever had with any repair facility and I'm still dealing with getting this issue resolved. bring your car literally anywhere else and save yourself the trouble of being robbed swindled and lied to. One of the thing I appreciate the most is JJ will tell you what the exact problem is and recommend the best path to fix it. He doesn't add on parts or unnecessary services. He even shops around when parts are needed to make sure you're getting the best price. The quality of work and fast turn around time makes him my go to mechanic. My 2009 Cadi CTS w/ 125k miles started slipping and not shifting correctly. I did a lot of research…read moreonline trying to find an honest shop, and there's plenty of shops to chose from but I had no experience with any. So I called Larry at Showcase Auto in Pasadena where I had recently bought a used truck--another great experience and 5-star review--for his recommendations knowing they were in the car business. Larry had only 1 tranny guy... Ken at A-1 Champion. I called A-1, and Ken answered and said bring it in for free check. Ken called me a couple hours later saying it was the TCM, and he could replace it and completely service the tranny for just over $800 (I feared it would be double that). Car was ready the very next day. Couple days later, it slipped out of gear at a stop light (ugh, I thought 'on no, here we go'). Called Ken and he said he would send a tow truck to pick it up. He called me that same day and said the torque converter had failed and damaged the pump (a $1,200 fix). Called him the next morning to discuss what I needed to do. He said 'just come pick up the car'. I was confused since I didn't authorize any work. He said he fixed it and the cost would be zero $$. I tried to at least cover labor but he wouldn't take it. Ken runs a tight shop and I could tell he is all business. The folks there are attentive, responsive, and focused on getting your car back to you quickly. My experience with A-1 was very good with quick and fair-priced repairs. They fixed only what needed fixing, instead of up-selling a bunch of unnecessary repairs. I appreciated they making sure it was done right, and standing behind their work. I will go here for all future tranny work, and would highly recommend A-1 Champion to my family and friends.
