We walked in and weren't entirely sure if they would let us just sit down for a coffee, but they were very accommodating and quickly cleared a table for 6 for us. Overall good coffee and friendly staff. My in laws said they ate there the night before too and it was good but I'll have to go back and test it out for myself.

Had a craving for Italian and heard good things about Site Pizza so headed down there for dinner…read more Bright atmosphere with some cool vespa's out the front in true Italian style. Greeted by the lovely owner and introduced to the specials of the night, so many to choose from; arancini, salt and pepper prawns, pumpkin soup, beef cheeks and much more. There is also an extensive menu offering salads, entrée's mains including veal, chicken, fish and chips etc and about 20 different pizza and pasta options. They are licensed and had a wide selection of Italian beers and wines. I wanted a white wine and was suggested the unwooded chardonnay, a very good choice! For the food, we were hungry and in the mood for a bit of everything so ordered a few of the specials, and had to get the garlic pizza of course. We started with the soft shell crab, lovely flavour with a light tempura batter, sitting on rocket, some cabbage with aioli. Although not usually a fan of soft shell crab, this was delicious and I very much enjoyed it! We then had the arancini which was a pumpkin and fetta and shallot flavour, crisp outer layer filled with tasty risotto. Generous 4 piece serving at a low price. The carpacchio was proabably one of my favourite dishes of the night, although simple, it was done well with fresh ingredients, thin beef, rocket, parmesan and a quality extra virgin olive oil drizzled. The beef had a great texture that melted in your mouth. For the main we chose the slipper bug (similar to a Balmain bug), pan fried with butter and garlic, not overcomplicating things - the way seafood should be done, side of salad and chips. Given we were at a restaurant called 'Site Pizza', we had to order a pizza. On the suggestion of the waiter, we went with the Capricciosa; a thin pizza base with a generous topping of Italian sausage, ham, mushrooms, mozzarella, oregano, parsley and to give it a bit of a kick, some chilli flakes. Medium size - great for us considering the fact we'd ordered some other things already. The hospitality provided was relaxed and friendly and informative, which is reflective of the owner, making a clear effort to engage with the customers. From the vibe in the room, seemed like a lot of regulars or returning customers there and probably due to the good service and high quality of the food. Had a great meal and experience there and I'll definitely go back for more and to try more, and of course; the Nutella calzone - just too full to fit it in tonight!

I came in off the street on a rainy Wednesday and was escorted up the stairs. I was meeting just one friend up there, so the seating options were limited (they don't seat small parties on the couches, in case you were wondering). With an assortment of leather and wood in different styles and heights, the dimly lit lounge gave off that speakeasy feel with a little sudamericano twist. We sat up at the bar and watched the bearded and suspender-clad bartenders hard at work. It's no wonder that the dark bar is cluttered with bottles, syrups, herbs and jars of ambiguous pickled items. Their cocktail menu reads like a book, with pages of elaborate and creative creations available by the cup. I was ever-so-tempted by the banana old fashioned (with banana infused Jack Daniels and sweet syrup), but instead chose to stick with wine. I tried three different glasses and far and away the best one was the Alma Negra Pinot Nior. If I could bathe in a bathtub of that wine, I surly would. We ordered a couple shared plates and both were well done. The cold meats selection was nothing mind blowing, but was definitely gourmet. With three kinds of thinly cut meats and small toasty bread, it was the perfect compliment to my wine. Secondly, we got the kingfish tartar. The five little bit-sized pieces seemed to have a hint of avocado, mint and lemon in the mix. It was definitely a standout. Next time I would order a couple more things to nibble on, but with the amount of drinks we got, my credit card was glad I didn't. Gardels isn't cheap, but definitely worth the experience.

I shouldn't Yelp about this but I just can't help myself - I just adore this cosy Argentinian alcohol alcove. It's dark, warm and sultry and that increases exponentially when the booze and tiny plates of meat in ball form arrive. It happened by mistake - I, like everyone else in Sydney, was dying to try Porteño, but I couldn't bare wait the two hours for a table. When I learned that a tapas menu was available upstairs, I practically pushed over the host in eager anticipation and scampered up the stairs like any classy lady does when it's after 6pm and she's not yet had a drink. And I was well rewarded - not only with chilli dogs and chicken wings (Yes. Those two things are both on the menu. I know, right?) but with some seriously divinely made cocktails by attractive men adorned in suspenders. I guess it helps that these guys truly care about what they're pouring and were quick to pour out knowledge about each and every beer, wine and spirit they served (many of which they had a hand in making in one way or another). Let's be honest, who doesn't love the idea of a sneaky drink in the attic before dinner? I say don't miss it. Or do. Your seat won't go to waste, that's for sure.

All the food here is delicious and in true Greek style, huge portions and great value for money. On my visit, the owner Harry made us feel very welcomed. Great value for money is the Kondosouvli (Spit Roast) Platter for two $62.90 You have a choice of lamb, pork or chicken( or all three if you desire), served with salad, 2 dips, pita bread and chips. This platter is so huge that it can easily serve three people comfortably. I love a Mousaka and this one is freshly baked in the oven! Delicious with a good serve of Greek Salad.
