Currently, they have a burger, fried chicken, sandwich and pizza options, along with a coffee stand in the middle. The food itself is mediocre most times, but at midnight everything tastes so much better. I mean, a midnight tuna sandwich has not tasted better before. Its proximity close to RDU makes it an appealing place to hang out while you wait to pick someone up from their flight, or grab a bite if you are flying home late. They also have monitors that track all of the flights, pretty neat in my opinion. The rest of the building is just a nice gas station, tons of snack options, drinks you've never heard of, and pure vibes. What is not to love about this place?

But outside of that, it's no different than most gas stations. It does have these Vending machines to go, where you can charge a drink directly at the pump which is neat. Don't even have to go in for the drink itself. When I went the last two weeks (12/17?2010), 20oz mtn dews were buy 2 get 1 free, which came out to about $3.21. That's not a bad deal for those long road trips if you need a caffeine spike.

They offer Krispy Kreme donuts, sandwiches and nachos, icees, and really good coffee that has always fresh in my experience. You can add cherry or vanilla syrups to your fountain drinks. Plenty of sodas and beer. Candy is often on special. You'll also find a variety of toiletries for emergency situations. First of all, Heritage Market is a classic convenience store with an old-time feel but carrying the usual drinks and chips and good humor ice cream. Whether it's a breakfast on the go, or a few minutes extra for lunch, they're set up so you can grab a sandwich, a cup of Larry's beans coffee, and sit at a small table in the corner to watch the traffic outside or the news on the overhead TVs. This store was super busy. I was inside for only a few minutes, but nearly everyone who stopped in was greeted by name by the employee. It's obviously a popular stop with the locals. As I reached into one cooler to grab some water, the cooler next to me had some large blocks of various cheeses from Ashe County Dairy, and, the cheese was conveniently located right next to some six packs of beer. The white icing has specks of chocolate crumbs in it, the border of the cake was uneven and sloppy, and the trimming was two different shades of yellow. They discounted it but it was just awful to bring to our birthday dinner. The cake decorator was rude and not helpful. The manager did not come to speak with us but told another employee to discount the cake. It had a good taste, so it has two stars.
