I had water damage to one of my room upstairs due to a radiator leak. I wasn't sure if we needed to do just the 1 room or the whole upstairs since the wood is all connected. When I had spoken to him on the phone he said there may be a slightly different color if we do just the one room. So before he came out, I asked if he can get us both quotes. He came out when I wasn't home but my wife was. He didn't measure anything. Look at the room where the damage was and left. He didn't look at the rest of the upstairs. I didn't get a message for him so I texted him. He gave me a quote for the one room. I asked, do you have a quote for how much it would be for the whole upstairs. He said he didn't look at the other room upstairs. I described the size of the other room upstairs and he texted back with a quote. I asked if you can send me in writing the 2 quotes. He said he has to charge me $150 for the quotes. Then I said, "What? Why?" He never responded. Just in case he didn't see it, I text him again the next day. He didn't respond again. I have been going to Tile Wholesalers of Newark for all of my tile needs and have sent friends and…read morefamily there for years.  This business is family run and the people that work there are always amazing.  Stacy, part of the family that runs the store, is always helpful, patient, and very attentive.  No matter how busy the store might be, she always takes as much time as is needed to find the right tiles for whatever your application is.  As a matter of fact, when I was there last weekend to find a unique design for a very small bathroom, which involved finding and matching 4 different types of tile and the associated grout, and ensuring it all matches. Stacy stayed with me for at least an hour, picking up different tiles and working on different combinations based on my feedback.  I kept on pleading with her to go and attend to others while I worked the different combinations together, but she refused to leave until I felt confident that the choices were matching and I would be happy.  She also constantly kept me aware of price and showed my close options that would save me money in my project.  For instance, I chose a very expensive Italian ceramic tile which I loved, and she brought over something very similar, that I liked the same, and told me I would save hundreds on this version, which I choose.  Also, while writing this I decided to look up the tiles I bought in the store and I realized that all of the prices were either the same or cheaper than anything I found online, for all 4 tile sets I choose. From the standpoint of service, anytime in the past that I have had a question or issue, a quick call to the store usually solved the problem.  The whole reason that I wrote this was because when I was driving there, I needed to look up the address.  This brought me to yelp, where I was surprised to find the single star review.  When I read the ridiculous review, which has nothing to do with the store (they only carry premium products, including TEC grouting), I felt I had to write this review. The touch-up kit they provided did not match the cabinet color. A second kit was provided and had the same problem. Replacement doors were requested, yet the issue dragged on for months and is still not properly resolved almost a year after the kitchen order. What was especially unacceptable was the way the situation was handled. Instead of professionally addressing legitimate concerns, I received responses such as "don't contact me again" and "stop your silly word game." That is not an appropriate way to communicate with a customer who is trying to resolve problems with a significant purchase. After months of delays, unresolved product issues, and this level of communication, I would not recommend Newark Flooring.
