I arrived at the Ol' Packing House in Eustis under rather unusual circumstances. You see, I am a…read moreghost, and unfortunately, I had become permanently attached to a piece of antique furniture. Thus, I had no choice but to visit the shop and investigate the source of my earthly entanglement. What I discovered was a charming collection of furniture and curiosities at wonderfully reasonable prices. The selection was pretty decent, with plenty of pieces to browse through, and the staff were absolutely fantastic--friendly, helpful, and far less frightened of me than most living people tend to be. I will say, however, that the interior was hotter than the deepest chamber of the underworld. Thankfully, they had fans running and water available, which helped keep both the living and the dead from melting into the floorboards. Naturally, I ended up purchasing a piece of furniture of my own. Unfortunately, it came with a rather unpleasant surprise: another ghost was haunting it. I was forced to consult a priest, prepare the proper incense, and conduct a full spiritual removal ceremony. After several hours of chanting, negotiating, and threatening to call upon forces far older than mankind, we finally discovered that the malevolent spirit wanted only $3.75. A bargain, really. All things considered, the Ol' Packing House is well worth visiting. The prices are excellent, the staff are wonderful, and there is a good variety of furniture waiting to be discovered. Just bring a bottle of water, prepare for the heat, and be sure to inspect any antique furniture carefully. You never know what--or who--may be included in the purchase price.

I reached out to several other seamstresses, and they all told me it was too last-minute for them to help. Sherry didn't. She suggested adding a corset kit to make the alteration easier and more affordable for me, which was such a thoughtful solution. I brought her everything she needed the next day, and she finished the work the night before my elopement. Thanks to her, the dress fit beautifully, and I felt amazing on such an important day. So when Kimberly recently got engaged she wanted to somehow use her Aunt Jackie's wedding dress. Thankfully we found Deb Lewis at Lewis Home and Bridal and she plus her team were skillfully able to handle a dress 30+ years old. They shortened it, took off the sleeves, some tulle, and some lace, and magically it became the perfect dress for Kimberly to wear to her bridal shower and wedding rehearsal dinner. Remarkably Jackie and Kimberly were exactly the same size and the dress fit beautifully. Deb was so helpful, kind, and flexible that I highly recommend her for any special occasion need. Thank you Deb for making both Jackie and Kimberly's wishes come true.
