I have been a loyal Toyota customer for nearly 10 years. I have purchased two vehicles through this dealership and have consistently brought my vehicles here for service and maintenance, which is why this experience has been especially disappointing. My biggest issue is how my credit application was handled. Before my credit was run, I was extremely clear with my salesperson, Frank, about how important it was to me to limit hard inquiries. I specifically asked that my credit only be submitted to Toyota, and I was reassured that it would be. While sitting in the dealership, I began receiving notifications of additional credit inquiries. I later spoke with a manager, John, who explained that Toyota apparently declined my application, after which it was sent to three additional financial institutions, and then Toyota ultimately took it back. This was never communicated to me. Had I been told Toyota declined my application and that my credit would be submitted elsewhere, I could have made that decision for myself. I was completely willing to continue building my credit and come back when the time was right. Instead, I feel like I was stripped of the ability to make my own informed decision about my credit and financing. What makes this even more frustrating is that I specifically raised this concern the day of the purchase. I also followed up afterward. Yet when I spoke with management, I was essentially told there was nothing they could do and that perhaps something could have been done if they had known that day. I am not asking for something they cannot do. I am asking for accountability, an honest investigation, and a genuine effort toward a resolution. Instead, I have felt dismissed. Frank has also been unresponsive and unhelpful regarding the situation, which is incredibly disappointing because he was the person I trusted and specifically discussed my concerns with. The one person I want to recognize is Victor Torres. He went out of his way to connect me with management, made sure I was able to speak with someone, and showed genuine sympathy for what I was experiencing. He was the only person who made me feel heard and actually tried to help. I genuinely appreciate him. After nearly a decade of loyalty, two vehicle purchases, and years of servicing my vehicles here, I expected a much higher level of transparency and customer care. I am not looking for special treatment. I deserved the opportunity to make my own informed decision about my credit and financing, and I feel that opportunity was taken away from me. I arrived 2 hours early for my scheduled appointment for my 2025 Tacoma's 25,000 mile service. I used their automated phone system to schedule the appointment. They said I was not scheduled. They made me wait 1 hour and 15 minutes before taking my truck in. I was 1 of 2 vehicles here when I pulled in. Now the garage is full and they tell me I will have to wait another hour and a half for my service. I made 2 appointments. The other appointment was for a diagnosis check because my truck malfunctions often. They said I need to make a separate appointment. Pros: They did fix one issue under diagnosis. The labor rate there is around $220. Cons: I had to wait quite a while (over 30 minutes) just to drop off the vehicle. The porter took the paperwork off the car and didn't notify anyone, so I was left waiting while the staff didn't even know if I was picking up or dropping off. The other vibration issue I brought it in for was not fixed, despite the car being there for about 4-5 days. I later took it to an independent shop, and they were puzzled as well and it took them 2 days to diagnose and fix it.. When they brought up the rotors over the phone, I knew it was BS. The pads do need to be changed, but I will be doing that myself. It was very bold of the tech to recommend a coolant flush and spark plugs when I had already provided a hard copy of the vehicle's maintenance history. Furthermore, they didn't actually check the brake fluid; it was still good when tested with a test strip recommended by The Car Care Nut. The rotors are clearly 28mm in the photo. I replaced them around 220k miles, and the vehicle now has over 300k miles. The tech claimed the rotors were at 21mm. I suspect they just looked up the vehicle's minimum specs and wrote down 1mm below it. This is the V6 model, which uses the larger 295mm rotors, not the 275mm rotors found on the 4-cylinder. ------------------------ I took out the tech number since this is culture of the dealership to sell sell sell rather than 1 tech. With the flat rate system they are pressured to sell sell, and can't take time to figure out the issue. This car has been mostly service by Claremont Toyota for big issue guess I'll go back as they are futher to drive for me. I personally would not go here or recommend friends and family for maintaince or parts, vehicle no more. I used to buy parts online then pick up at this dealership. read more

I'm very disappointed with my experience at Crown Toyota's service department and with my service advisor, Andre Aviles. The main issues: I was verbally told my total would be approximately $280, but I was ultimately charged $385.93. I was also sold a $200+ hybrid battery cooling filter replacement at only about 18,000 miles, even though management later sent me Toyota's own maintenance schedule stating that the filter should be CLEANED at 20,000 miles or 24 months. My car had reached neither interval. After I contacted management, they explained that Crown replaced the filter because it is a paper filter and "it is better to replace it." But that is a dealership recommendation, not the same thing as Toyota's scheduled cleaning. I wish this distinction--and the fact that my car had not even reached the maintenance interval they cited--had been clearly explained before I authorized the service. I'm also very concerned about how the pricing was communicated. While the service advisor was calculating everything, I was verbally told my total would be approximately $280. I relied on that amount and signed the paperwork without carefully checking it. When it was time to pay, I again trusted what I had been told and paid without double-checking. I later realized I had actually been charged $385.93. My advice to other customers is to read every amount carefully before signing or paying, even if an employee has already verbally given you a total. If you're tired, overwhelmed, or simply trusting what you're being told, take the extra time to check everything yourself. In my experience, what I was verbally told and what I ultimately paid were very different. I relied on the service advisor and dealership to clearly explain both the pricing and the difference between Toyota's scheduled maintenance and additional services recommended by the dealership. I'm still leaving the original body of my review as is and will just say that if you buy a car from a dealership make sure your temporary or permanent plates are on the vehicle before you leave. My husband and I bought a used car (2026 Grand Highlander) on Saturday, 9/12/26 from this dealership. The sales part of our day was probably one of the best I've had when purchasing a car. Our salesperson was Khamid and he was friendly and low-pressure. We took two different cars out for test drives and decided on the Highlander. Great car, BTW. The financing part was also relatively easy and low-key (we had our own financing in place so I was a little irritated that they still asked for our SSNs). We were offered the extra stuff, like warranties and GAP insurance. We declined, they came back with a lower number, we declined again and that was that. Overall I'd say we were there for about 3 hours. Impressive. The reason I'm giving three stars is the following: there were no plates on our car. Not metal plates or temporary plates. I didn't even think about it until we got home, thinking they might be under the advertisement they had under the license plate frames. Nope. I contacted our sales person to let him know of the issue and I assumed this would be a relatively easy thing to get taken care of. I drove to the dealership today, 9/14/26, when I hadn't hear back from anyone in the finance department after leaving a voicemail Sunday afternoon. I figured I'd go in, explain the situation, they'd give me the temporary plates and I'd be on my way home. I was seated in the reception area, I had a discussion with someone and they were going to go back to the finance department. They came back and said there wasn't anything they could do and they'd call the DMV tomorrow. In California, dealerships are not allowed to let a car leave their lot with no plates. They let me do it Saturday and then they were basically telling me to drive the car home again today with no plates. I was going to leave but I went back in and explained that they had to find the original plates or issue me temporary plates. After about 45 minutes one of the employees came up to me and asked what I was waiting on. He knew what I was waiting on because I heard him speaking with someone at the desk about my issue. I could tell he was hoping I'd just give in and leave. But I insisted on the plates. As he was walking away I said I could just return the car. Not sure if he heard me but I said it. Eventually my sales person showed up with temporary plates. He put them on my car and I left. Now I've never worked at a car dealership. I have no idea what goes into making sure a car that is sold has the proper plates. Or what the requirements are for issuing temporary plates. But when it's the law to have plates on the car, you send the customer on their way in a car with no plates and then that customer shows up to get the issue fixed, they should be doing everything they can to get the temporary plates issued in a timely manner. Not have your customer sit around for an hour and a half in an attempt to just wait them out and watch them leave. This would have definitely been a five star review if the issue had been treated as even remotely important to the representatives working there this afternoon. read more

I had a very upsetting experience at this Toyota dealership. I was there with my girlfriend, and I was trying to help her negotiate a better price on her vehicle. During the conversation, Cal said to me in a sarcastic and dismissive tone, "Think what you want, buddy. That's the best price you're gonna get." When we objected to authorizing unnecessary credit checks, the salesperson told us to put dummy numbers like "all zeros or ones" in the Social Security field--a reckless suggestion for any formal legal portal. ​Once that fell through, management reneged on sending the purchase agreement altogether. The salesperson called to admit that the General Manager refused to execute the DocuSign because of upcoming holiday foot traffic. They stated they wanted the vehicle physically on the showroom floor for the weekend, even though we were ready to wire payment immediately. Why schedule an appointment on your day off? When I arrived, I counted at least six sales representatives standing around. Not a single one walked up to me--they all just stood there staring. I had to personally track down three different people just to get noticed. When someone finally "helped" me, the negative attitude from both the sales rep and the manager was immediate. They clearly didn't want my business and treated me like I wasn't a serious buyer. I was determined to buy a Grand Highlander that day, but because of their judgmental attitude and pure laziness, they lost an easy, guaranteed sale. I took my business 20 minutes away to Riverside Toyota instead, where I was treated with respect and happily drove home in my brand-new 2026 Grand Highlander. To management: You have a major culture problem. Beyond the terrible service, having your sales reps smoking right in front of the main entrance looks incredibly unprofessional and gives the brand a bad reputation.
