What a creative name for a pub! You and I (not together, of course) probably have been to several "crowns" pubs around the country. This impressive building situated on opposite side of the Law Courts, in Corporation St., certainly reveals being much more than an average pub!
I didn't plan to visit this pub it was just an option around the corner when all pubs in that area (yes, Jekyll & Hide, I am talking about you!) were packed enough to accept more drinkers. Thanks Jeckyl & Hide, you did me a favour!
I really enjoyed my time at the Crown Hotel and I ended up having much more than one single pint in this very atmospheric pub.
The public is chilled and I don't if it was the alcohol speaking or I really spotted an old gentleman drinking by himself without bothering too much about the loud music.
As it was a Friday night there was live music full on. I have to give kudos to DJ. He was just brilliant, as playing 90's cheesy tunes that stuck on my brain all night long, as putting long tracks while he left the " booth" to grab a pint at the bar.
By the way, I am not expecting to listening to the EMF hit Unbelievable for a long time now. Maybe just next time I visit The Crown Hotel. Thank you! read more
