Corey re-tipped my cue & added some weight to it. Got to shoot some pool while I waited for my cue to be completed. The finished product was perfect. I feel very lucky to have this shop so close to me. I am a pretty serious player and just moved back to So Cal. I played on 4 different east coast regional tours and am a little picky about who I let work on my cues. I was very happy to find out about Crown City, the owner is a well regarded pro and I had no hesitation handing my cues over to him. For once a real Billiards Store, with real costumer service, in stock Cue's, I was amazed! I brought my Schon in looking for a new Shaft as my Z2 Predator is a tad stiff, I asked about some various shafts I'd been reading about and out Corey would pop with a nice demo shaft to fit my Schon PLUS I could make use of his excellent Table to actually try the thing out, I tried some awesome Tiger shafts, The 314 Predator, The OB 1 & 2, Muicci's Black dot, he even had a Predator 314 "Fat", After spending much time and picking Corey's very knowledgeable brain. I cam up with an The OB-1 5/16-14 Black Collar with a Silver Ring 30" Shaft plus a sharp looking OB cue model 108 Gray w/white joint collar and a Super Soft Kamui Tip, I love the Cue and the best thing is, is its all interchangeable with my Schon/Predator gear! Corey also got on the tool bench and lathe to make sure the joints fit perfect and the weighting was right and then put a nice waxed burnish to the shafts. all for around $400, I was about to spend almost that on a new Shaft, now I have a great outfit I love! Started out with some Chinese red pocket money from my sister for my birthday, I decided to put them in the best use I could think of. Feeling like I have hit a plateau and started to feel frustrated after playing in the LA Pool League for a year or so, I concluded that I need some lessons. After some researching, I gave myself the best birthday gift ever: I used the red pocket money to take some professional pool lessons from Corey Harper of Crown City Billiards. It was just eye-opening. For a timid person like me, this was an unbelievable step. When I walked in this Pro Shop/ Billiard Academy, however, all i got was a super warming and nurturing person with an extensive knowledge base on billiard, both on techniques and esp. the mental game aspect of pocket billiard. I had the best time of my life training with him. Corey was extremely patient with me and pinpointed all of my weaknesses right from the start and provided me solutions very generously. Crown City Billiards is as academic as you can get for leaning professional pool. I've taken one lesson from a pro before, he was extremely good but it was in no way close to how organized, structured, and thorough as Corey's program. My point is that if you want lots of fun and also want to learn from a real pro, Corey Harper would open up the world of billiard for you. Corey is the man! I get my cues tipped over here. They always have a wide selection of cues, cue accessories, tips, etc... Pretty much everything you need. Some instructional videos and while you're waiting for your cue to be retipped he will let you shoot around his tournament size Brunswick pool table, equipped with Simonis cloth. The owner Corey is very knowledgable and always tries to sell you only what you need. Sad to hear that CCB closed down. It will be sorely missed by me. read more

Came in today to have my new to me used cue cleaned and pressed. Crown City Corey is the man when it comes to all things billiards. I'm very happy to have found this place. I would have been playing more pool sooner had I found this place earlier in my life. The store is very nice, super easy to find, and has more than you can ask for. Corey is extremely friendly, and very knowledgeable about billiards, players, leagues, places to play, products, you name it, he's got information on it. Now I can tell you about the service he provided. My used cue has some dents and dings, no big deal. Having my wrap cleaned and pressed, and having my shaft worked on changed all that. This thing looks and feels better than new. All thanks to Corey my wrap feels, looks, and smells like new. I can't thank him enough.
