This is a beautiful old building, and Crossroads has been renovating it for a long time now, so when they opened it back up I was really interested in taking a look. Having been to the Crossroads main location in Oakley, and finding the service and community extremely welcoming, I didn't feel awkward stepping in just to check out the architecture. On the contrary, as soon as I mentioned that I just wanted to grab some photos and look around I essentially got offered a guided tour by a very enthusiastic staffer, who welcomed me to grab some coffee (roasted by Carabello), or a soft drink if I'd rather (a full selection of Coke products on fountain). Out of respect, I didn't go into the chapel to photograph, but the annex is AMAZING - all of the additions fit with the classical style of the church, very refined and sharp without detracting from the stained glass and wrought iron. The "hang out" area has multiple couches under an awning, fans and televisions mounted, with a few work tables around the perimeters, and then some open air courtyard space to really relax in. Considering the welcoming and comforting space, the free drinks and wifi, and the awesome location, I can definitely see myself stopping by Crossroads more regularly! read more
