The therapists at TheraCare have performed near miracles for my children! While I thought my older child's Early Intervention agency was excellent, TheraCare is hands-down better. Their Speech and Physical Therapists are superb and a cut above the rest compared to other Pediatric Therapists whom I encounter on a daily basis professionally. They are extremely effective while also child-centered and compassionate in their approach and interaction with my children. Their Clinical Coordinator is absolutely wonderful to deal with and extremely responsive whenever I have called. I feel so fortunate that when my children's services went out for broadcast that TheraCare was assigned their cases!

Took the 2-day storytelling workshop with Julia recently (again)…read more I have taken storytelling classes in many places but what makes this experience different (and better) is the instruction and lecture Julia given on how to write about the story and how to give feedback. I enjoyed the exercises we did in class, it really made me think hard and had to dig back to my memories to create the stories. The environment was non-judgement, open and welcoming. I love the small class setting and the energy everybody brought to the workshop. I plan to come back to these type of workshop regularly and develop my speaking voice for work and personal growth.

My son has been attending Little Angels Family Daycare since he was one year old. The facility is…read moremeticulously clean and new, and the price is very reasonable. They also have a convenient lunch arrangement where my son can buy lunch each day. When you go for a tour, ask "Mimi" and "Mo" (the owners) about the impressive safety and security features. The communication between the school and myself has been excellent. When I pick up my son, Mimi and Mo take the time to give me a quick review of the day and share progress with me, along with the weekly progress notes, and they are available for meetings as needed. Even more important than all of that, my son loves being there. Each day we drop him off and pick him up happy and healthy. He loves his teachers and has had a special relationship with each of them at each stage. They have been patient and kind through my son's "terrible twos" and have been willing to work with us and try whatever they could to promote his growth and development. We are amazed by what he learns academically and socially each day. I highly recommend Little Angels and we have already reserved a spot for our second baby who will be born this spring.

It really saved me last year when I was told…read moreI had to teach Macbeth to a group of at-risk kids from Oakland who can barely read at all, let alone decipher the word of The Bard. Because of Flocabulary.com, my kids were absolutely riveted by Shakespeare. They all understood the story and were able to summarize it, analyze it, define and use Shakespearean vocabulary. They were able to understand the characters and to put on plays of their own modernized versions of Macbeth. This doesn't mean they all did their work and got good grades, but at least they were all engaged. I know they all understood the story, because they got all As and Bs on the assessments I did. I really felt like they were learning something about literature. I ordered the Shakespeare as Hip Hop CD with the accompanying lesson plan book. There is a music video of their Macbeth rap that I showed the class. They didn't talk or mess around while I was showing the video, which is amazing for this group of kids. They had to pick five scenes, pick a song for each scene, and say why they picked that song for that scene. I have also used this CD to teach Sonnets to 8th graders in Hayward. They loved it! I could hear them rapping Sonnet #18 in the halls, and with a few exceptions, they all wrote their own awesome sonnets without grumbling. Direct quotes from the end-of-unit evaluations I gave them: "The Bluest Eye was hecka boring but Macbeth was cool. I liked doing plays and the music video." "I didn't relize (sic) that Shakespeare is so bloody. I liked all the battels (sic)." "You made Shakespeare fun because you let us use music." "Imma (sic) make my own movie of Macbeth from the play I wrote!" "Can we do more Shakespeare next semester? I liked writing a play and I liked the sountracks (sic) I made." I thought Flocabulary was sort of corny and silly at first, and I was a little scared about how the kids would react, but I'm SO glad I used it. I usually dread teaching Shakespeare, but now Flocabulary makes it one of my easiest and most fun things to teach all year.

And at the end of the day they put your child in high a chairs for time outs, they allow sick children to still come in. They allow sick staff to take care of your children. The owners mother has a TERRIBLE bedside manner and no respect for the parents at all. If you show up or call before opening she will give you an attitude because it cuts into her coffee and chain-smoking newports on the side of the building before the kids come in. They give children tap water, don't heat up their food, don't give babies their bottles. They actually let the bottles sit out for hours on end. I cannot say enough bad things about this facility. Please please please don't take your children here.
