*$614 FOR "FUNCTIONAL" MAKE UP VANITY THAT DIDNT LAST A ONE MILE DRIVE WITH PHOTO AND VIDEO EVIDENCE & THEY WILL NOT TAKE IT BACK OR GIVE A REASONABLE CREDIT: * see pics I love supporting local .. but this story is exactly why local is losing . Because greed and lack of accountability or ethics can only work in tourist traps . *** 1 MILE DRIVE AWAY , no accident , furniture didn't even leave my car yet before it fell apart and they BLAMED ME ** SEE PICTURE: this mirror on a few strips of wood ( this was a one piece make up vanity , now 2 pieces ! ) could have easily fell on my kids or my wife . My 8 month pregnant wife went in here and loved a vintage style make up vanity months ago but it was priced for over 700 bucks . Less than 2 weeks ago she went back and saw it wasn't being sold and asked what they'd lower it to to get rid of it. It ended up being $614 - I go with my SUV backed up to the door , the husband of a kind lady who worked there insisted on helping me load it , there were blemishes but nothing that indicated what we were about to encounter. 1 mile away ,this drive that is literally 2 turning motions to get to my house and all straight roads - I park , I had this on big flat cardboard and simply SLID the foundation of the vanity towards the edge of the trunk .. as I carefully put it out I see something was left behind .. in utter shock I continue to bring everything inside with assistance and before I can even examine it my wife noticed it was GLUED ! When I finally did speak to Valerie ( owner not the seller ) she tried to pin it on me and basically said it was fine in the store , it happened outside of the store on my time . I told her because the law of physics did not expose the crappy patch up job that was omitted from my knowledge . She said she doesn't have a degree in physics and will not speak about physics !!! I kid you not. as I told her it's common sense that if I lifted it up vertically and only laid it down very gently upon loading it Which then I slid it towards the second row of my truck with cardboard it clearly already started separating if within a mile this already became undone She actually hung up on me I decided to give her 1 final chance & called her back to say this=illegal by not taking it back because ; stance A. They knew about it and did not give a proper descriptor of the issue or stance B : they did not know about it but failed to do a proper inspection for defects or safety ( she admits this in a roundabout way while saying " it was fine in her store so dodges the glue like jtd the plague and still blames me ) and legally even on stance B it is HER STORE that is supposed to give a proper inspection : she'd go back to the idea of that it left her store fine .. yeah because if I tried to lay it down like that everyone will make sure I'd cough up the $$ first and she knows it . I said maybe if there was no obvious cheap glue residue you'd have a case , she to this day had not one comment about the glue . When she could not answer virtually anythjtn that I put forth after her strong arming tactics and cheap accusations that she claims aren't accusations. 3 days later we speak and she says " theyre not happy at all " ( the sellers ) as if I did something wrong .. The solution that she acted like was a miracle was the Sellers offered 38 dollars no that's not a typo , begrudgingly , and she's " surprised they even went that far " this is just pure reverse pyschology and it's a very cheap version of it . And that's as far as they will go and they nor her , will take it back or price it commensurate with the fact that this is now in two pieces and was tampered with. Needless to say I refused the 38 dollars. At the very least I hope this post spares someone else walking in good faith to make a purchase thinks twice and knows who exactly they're dealing with. This is the used car dealer who either willfully or ignorantly sold you a car with transmission sawdust and a mile down the road say " it wasn't like That when you drove it on my lot , your problem not mine" read more

I will not shop anywhere where I am made to feel like a criminal and stalked at every turn. It was not a pleasant experience at all. Maybe they need to actually invest in some cameras instead of acting like hawks and making customers uncomfortable. They can say that's their way of doing things but on a pretty crowded Saturday it was weird it was just me and my husband being followed and not anyway else. I already read the snarky response from the owner so no need to leave me one, it's obvious you couldn't care less and think you're doing a great job. That's ok there are plenty of better antique shops around. Prices are too high as well and I seen the responses to this too. They are living in an alternate reality if they think they offer decent prices and people often buy and resell lmao read more

Overpriced. Staff hawking, as if they've never heard of cameras. Duh. Fox News playing - told me everything I needed to know. A bottle of water for $3, same bottle at Costco for .25. All prices were insane. Never Again. Dozens of better options nearby. If I could use half a star I would. read more

Much like any other antique place I've been to. Lots of stalls with individual sellers showing their wares. I thought the prices were ok. They've got about everything here. Check out the attic. Lots of good stuff to be had there! read more

I was hesitant to stop based on previous reviews but glad I did. So much to look at and no one followed us. We crossed paths with one gentleman a few times but he was helpful not intrusive. Would recommend stopping by! read more

This place is huge....2 floors. Lots of nice stuff, much of it in glass cases. Clean and well laid out. We spent 1.5 hours there. Good customer service, helpful and not pushy or nosey. Prices are fair and we found a few really good deals, including dishes, which the staff wrapped carefully in newspapers. read more

We visit this antique store every year, great shopping experience!! It is a large store, most of the merchandise is small and and I can only imagine that they probably have had to deal with shoplifters. I personally prefer that their reps make themselves readily available to assist with gathering your findings, and have everything rung up and in the ready for check out. This year, Fred assisted me with finding small ceramic Koalas, as well as a specific railroad safety sign that I'd spotted the year before, he was friendly and helpful! I really like the selection of merchandise and content of the store itself, and the prices are pretty reasonable, but the customer service is terrible. The employees followed me around the entire store practically staring over my shoulder, and hovered over me the entire time. They kept asking to take whatever I was holding to the front, even though I was still looking at the items and wasn't sure if I was going to buy them. The whole experience made me feel very uncomfortable and slightly offended. And the one lady was just downright rude. Would be a fantastic place to find antiques and a really cool experience, except for the bad customer service. read more

I'm on a constant hunt for Lloyd Loom chairs. I saw five sitting outside so I stopped by. The lady at the front informed me they are not for sale. They aren't set up for customers to sit in, they are just there to draw you in. The owner even said "if I had a dime for every time someone asked me if they're for sale" Well why are they out there if they aren't for sale? Customers are an afterthought here. Do not shop here. I absolutely love places like this! I was over joyed to discover this little treasure shop just five minutes away from our hotel. There are two floors of all kinds of vintage stuff to browse. We spent hours in here completely lost in nostalgic bliss and wonder. Other reviews have expressed distress over the staff following people around. I'm here to tell you that yes they do follow you but they are nothing but courteous and pleasant and only trying to be helpful. I would defintly return here if and when I'm in the area again. I read a few reviews and they are 100% correct. You get watched like a hawk, and talked down to when you ask about price. Bargainers beware. They were not willing to negotiate at all, which in my opinion is half the fun. The prices made no sense to me. Every price seemed high. If you can put up with being watched like a field mouse by the hawks, you may be able to find a fair price. read more

Very disappointed in the treatment of the very unfriendly staff. After reading reviews here I can see we weren't the only ones treated poorly. We are decent normal dressed mature people and were glared at and followed like criminals. We were so uncomfortable we only spent about 10 minutes in the store. We were even followed outside. Honestly thought it could be a racist thing with the staff, but can see by reviews they are just untrusting, unfriendly people. I've been in high end stores and not followed around. Do they think people would be interested in stealing their junk. Didn't see anything in the 10 minutes I was in there that was quality antiques. I would give it 0 stars if I could! AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Came in with 20 minutes until they close because I worked all day until 5.. walked in some lady chased me down while I'm making a quick loop.. tells me we are closing in 5 mins because we've been on our feet all day and I said I understand.. she continued to tell me they are closing and literally cutting me off in aisles until I left. I visited this antique mall a couple of Saturdays ago after I had finished the Hershey Chocolate Tour bike ride and was waiting for my friend who was doing a longer ride. I generally liked this place....the people were friendly and I interacted with probably 3 or 4. I wound up buying a kitschy plastic recipe box with recipe card sets that I had started in the early 1970s but had never finished acquiring the whole set. So that was kind of cool to find this after so many years...the price was only about $10 (or I wouldn't have bought it). I also bought a nice paper piece for my antique advertising collection. All in all I think the merchandise was fairly good....quite a bit of flea-market type stuff but you see plenty of that in most antique malls and yet still a good amount of nicer vintage & antique pieces. read more

I love this Antique mall! I don't understand the awful reviews? This is my 3rd year shopping at Crossroads. When we walk in people are very friendly. They hand you a ticket with a number - if you want to buy an item, they take the item & hold it in your numbered spot at the desk. I love this idea! You can't look if you are holding stuff in your hands? Some reviewers sound paranoid about being "watched"!I find it a benefit that the staff are helpful! If you are not doing anything wrong who cares who's watching?! The prices here are fair, selection is great! We have found many great items here! The mall is clean, there are bathrooms, good parking. This is a place you go to find overpriced antiques and be watched like a hawk. My experience there last week during a visit to central Pennsylvania resulted in a public scolding after I took a photo inside (I enjoy photography on vacation). The manager, who apparently runs the place, seemed to get some delight in laying down the law about the perils of photography. Their prices aren't that competitive and there was always someone rounding a corner checking you out to make sure you're not stealing something. I'd recommend steering clear of this tourist trap, run by unfriendly staff with overpriced 'antiques'. read more

They have a great and varied selection of antiques at reasonable prices. Was with my wife and she had a list of what she was looking. She was able to find and purchased several items on her list. I enjoyed just looking at all the interesting items. I am happy to say that I found an item to buy, a Hershey Bear snow globe. read more

I visited this place earlier this year, and couldn't believe how it's been off my radar screen for so long. I frequent Hershey fairly often, and totally missed this gem. First off, its housed in a neat old, rounded type barn. (I'm no architecture expert but apparently these barns are extremely rare.) Anyway, they have a great selection of smalls from many time periods and pricing was decent. I will definitely visit again. read more

This is a huge multi-level store. The selections huge and everything is well organized. My only criticism is the prices... very high and really not realistic of their actual value. Ebay had lower prices on exact items even after adding shipping. read more

No bargains here. Lots of attic-junk with high prices arbitrarily slapped on. One particularly laughable item was an empty box of Klein Lunch Bars, c. 1960, for $125. I'd say the average markup is 100%. Don't buy a thing here without checking the web first. read more

This is a large store with an inventory of half antiques, half flea-market finds. There are some exceptionally nice pieces here, but expect to pay top dollar. The store is located in a high-tourist area, and the vendors price items accordingly. read more

Beware of expired drinks in their mini fridge. They sell extremely expired drinks for $1.75 a piece and don't offer a refund when you point it out. Antiques were mostly small glass figures and such. read more

I am so dissapointed in this store. I went in today and purchased an old cookbook. It was sealed in a plastic bag and the tag on it said '1951 Beautiful cookbook'. I purchased it and I immediately opened it while still in the store. To my horor I saw a half a page torn off,missing and another page completely missing.I turned around to one of the cashiers and showed her what I just purchased and she told me ' I cannot do anything about it' Do not be conned like me,don't shop here. The seller of this book is #65 and I am deeply dissapointed that I couldn't return it.Now I know why the book was sealed! Please beware,I will never shop there again! read more

Visited this place this past weekend and what a great place! Very clean, bright and tons of things to look at! Saw many items that my mother has and also things that my grandmother had. This place is filled with quality items and memories. Unlike other places where you have to go look for someone to help you, there were people actually walking around looking to help me!
