I don't tend to have the most adventurous palate out there, so when it comes to Indian food, I'm usually a Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan and rice kinda girl. But at Roti Boti, they do a STUNNING Mango Chicken, the likes of which I haven't tasted elsewhere. I'm not normally into savoury and sweet, but this works well. Their Butter Chicken is equally as good, and their Naan full of enough garlic to get you in trouble with your family, friends and coworkers for a good half week or so. If I get an entree too, I'll opt for their delicious Samosas and they're some of the best I've had anywhere. 99% of the time, the service is impeccable and spot on. The owner gets to know you even after one visit and could almost recite the order you placed your previous visit without error. He has the most amazing memory. It's a family run business and they pay attention to detail and always make you feel welcome. The only minimal downside is when they're doing persistent take away orders, and therefore your meal is delayed and delayed ... however ... if that's the only fault a restaurant has, it says a lot, and the food is worth the wait. It is quite dark inside, so be sure to have your battery on high for your phone if you use the torch app to read menus. But once you've ordered, be prepared for one of the best Indian meals around. Roti Boti is hard to beat.

You know when you visit a restaurant where the staff genuinely cares about their costumers, and the food they provide. Roti boti is one of them. The passion for spices and flavors is presented in each meal, and the waitresses and waiters remember even the smallest moderation to every order without even writing it down most times. My partner is obsessed with their Kabuli naan, and I have fallen in love with their Kadhai chicken, but in saying that, I absolutely love all of their curries. All. Of. Them. As a starter we always order the onion rings, they are never a let down. The owner himself treats the restaurant and the costumers with more respect and presence than I've ever experienced at a restaurant, and he make sure that he gets around to each table to personally see how the food is being experienced. I have never had a bad experience here, and I'm sure that I never will. Roti Boti for the people!

The service was attentive but not suffocating. We got excellent suggestions for wine (the Haha Pinot is an amazing starter and an excellent deal) and starter plates. I'm a longtime Indian food lover and can honestly say that these starters, when combined, were among the best Indian dishes I've ever had anywhere. We had the Chili Paneer and the Dahi Vada (a cold dish). By itself the Chili Paneer was to die for, but combined with the Dahi Vada and the wine, the food was out of this world. For the main, we ordered the Goat Curry, garlic naan, and saffron rice. The Goat was excellent, though I could have used a little more spice (the staff went easy on me since it was the first time). The garlic naan was great as well, and the rice was perfectly done. When I come back to Melbourne, I'll definitely be visiting Indian Burrp again!

The restaurant is located on Nepean Highway; quite an accessible location to most. On entering, you…read morewill be immediately drawn to the beautiful ambience and décor. Soft dim lights, beautiful centre lighting, comfortable dark seating and a small bar at the end all add to the slow paced dining experience that the restaurant has tried to create for its customers. Indian Burrp defines itself as a fine dining restaurant. But I do not really agree with that term as the menu is quite classic heavily leaning towards the North Indian style of cooking. There aren't any surprises with regard to the dishes, style of cooking or presentation. I really wonder why the Indian restaurants here are so afraid to veer away from the familiar path. Having said that, you can find all the much loved and popular Indian dishes on the menu. Not disappointing if you are looking at classic North Indian food. There are also combo deals which work great if you are looking to sample many dishes. The wine list is a good one albeit a small one but I was quite happy to see a bunch of good Australian wines carefully chosen to go with the flavours of the food. We did sample the wines, both white and red which went really well with the food but I was so busy talking with my friends that I forgot to note the names. Sorrrry!! Another factor that stands out at Indian Burrp is the friendly customer service. The owner Rash Banker is always around being the perfect host, getting your orders sorted, making enquiries etc... It was welcoming to see him around making sure that everyone is having a good time. The first starter to arrive was the Tandoori Prawns. It was good but the spice paste had a bit of rawness to it from not being cooked through but nevertheless flavourful. The next starter we got was the Chef's special Burrpie Chicken. The menu stated half for $13.95 and full for $22.95. Reading it, one would assume that half meant half chicken but it is not so. What arrived at the table were 2 medium sized chicken thighs which was a bit of a bummer; a clear menu would help rather than having to call the staff to find out more about every dish. The chicken was cooked well, moist and juicy with a good spice rub. Quite similar to a tandoori but without the smoky chargilled flavour. For mains, we ordered the Lamb biryani, butter rotis and Chicken Hutke (Chef's Special). The chicken dish felt a little heavy but the flavours were good. An onion based gravy, medium spicy and paired really well with the rotis. Coming to the biryani, hands down, it was the dish of the day for all of us. It was a Mughlai style biryani with succulent lamb pieces, right amount of spices, full of flavour and the rice cooked to perfection. A must try if you are a biryani lover. The only bummer was that the biryani is served without any raita/yoghurt dip or salan; you need to order a raita for extra cost. Biryani always comes with a raita folks! For dessert, we got the Mango Kulfi and Gulab Jamuns. Sorry guys, no pics again (this time, the effect of too much wine!). The kulfi had a good flavour of the mangoes, creamy and delicious. It is served in a bowl instead of the traditional stick format. The jamuns were soft, syrupy and just the right amount of sweetness. Totally recommend both. Overall, a nice experience. There were some misses but plenty of hits too. Loved the service, ambience, a good wine list and decent food. And ofcourse, a great song selection playing throughout the night. Would return back to this place.

I can't tell you the amount of times I've passed this restaurant by and never gone in. After a…read morerecommendation from family, I finally gave it a go. Wowsa. So glad I did. It was Mother's Day night, and they were busy, but the food came out in good time, and everything was spot on. It's a small place with an odd shape, but they packed a lot of people in, yet you can hear yourself think. The menu isn't too different from other Indian restaurants, but the food itself is really good. We didn't have any entree/starter/appetiser, but straight on to mains. The butter chicken was delightful. It was flavourful, and spot on. The garlic naan actually had real garlic as opposed to garlic powder which many places use. The rice was lovely and fluffy and it all made for a wonderful meal. Before they took the dishes away, the owner(?) asked if we loved everything, and wanted to even give us a dessert on the house, but we were too full. Then he asked about our preferences for flavour, as when we come next time, he'll choose something we might like and he'll make a little dish of it so we can try it and expand our palate. That's almost unheard of, but such good service. The pricing is good, the parking is handy and easy, and overall, I couldn't fault it at all. It's obviously a good local neighborhood gem, but one worth making the trip to. I highly, highly recommend it.

If you go on a weekend, be mindful of their popularity and allow time for the food to be made (they do a tonne of takeaway). They might need to get another chef if they continue to serve such good food. The host is lovely too.
