I would like to preface this review by saying that this was my very first experience with crossfit…read more I knew very little about crossfit, what it entailed, how much physical and mental determination it would require. I initially chose CFVF because it was convenient to work. The "box" is located inside of the Aspiring Champions complex in KOP. I've been attending CFVF for almost a year now and this has been the best experience of my life. I attend classes 4 days a week and the changes I have experience over the past year have surpassed my expectations. The coaches are ALL amazing! They are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They exemplify what it means to be leaders. The guys are great and they know there shit! With that said, they maintain a light-hearted, encouraging atmosphere, even when the workouts are kicking my ass! The other patrons of the gym are also very nice and welcoming. There is an amazing sense of comaraderie that you don't find in other fitness facilities. I attend class in the early AM and it is never too crowded. The small class size makes it feel as if you have a personal trainer. If you are considering crossfit and have access to CFVF, I would highly recommend trying them out. Again, I chose this particular gym because it was convenient to work, but I can tell you that if I ever left my job in KOP, I would still attend CFVF, eventhough I live in center city. Yes..I said it. I would still go out of my way to attend CFVF even with the horrendous traffic on 76!

Having been to 6-7 boxes, I've learned that coaches make or break the box. The coaches knew what they were talking about and were able to explain the movement mechanics well. They really focused on form and technique which is extremely important to me. The members of the box were also super friendly. Honestly, the box felt like my home box (Crossfit Central Houston) - that's how comfortable they made me feel. During my 2 weeks at CFVF, I got my first pistol, PR'ed my 5RM OHS, and climbed my first rope. I don't know if it was something in the water over there or what, but it was a solid 2 weeks of firsts. I can't wait to go back to CFVF the next time I'm in the KoP area.

So i decided to join her one day as her plus one. First off, know that you have to drive all the way to the back of the plaza to find it. But there's plenty of parking. The studio is run by two nice trainers: Sally and Jordan. They are very open and all about helping you. They tell you their story and listen to yours. It's all about setting goals and appreciating the little accomplishments. First thing when you walk in is that it's one big room. Not little alcoves here and there. Just a huge mat for you to get sweaty on. I did notice there's not one mirror- which is quite interesting. There is complementary child care and very nice locker rooms. They are like to do one on one meetings to check in with you every other week. Their hours are a bit wonky so check the class schedule each week before coming in. But what I like most about this place is that if you can't do a conventional push up, they find another way to get your body to work the same muscles. My advice? Come try it out!

They give great coaching and direction and will provide options to accommodate injuries or limitations. Their classes are a unique blend of strength, cardio and hiit but the foundation is weight training. Each day has a focus and flows into the next so you train evenly and don't risk overtraining any particular body part. They have a separate LIT area where they offer yoga, body pump, dance sweat and Pilates classes. Members get all of this for a price that is less than just about every group fitness studio in the area. They smartly located a bit off the beaten path but super convenient to get to from all the surrounding neighborhoods in central bucks county so your membership fee isn't going to pay for rent in an expensive shopping center. This place is a "diamond in the rough". Finally, you will see your neighbors and friends here and if you don't know anyone you will quickly be welcomed into the Bria community. No pretentiousness... just normal people trying to optimize their fitness. Give it a try you won't be sorry.

I landed at Thermal and spoke to Vinny. The highlights were: 1. You gotta stick with it, you will not see instant results. 2. Real food is made of one ingredient only." 3. A meal should consist of a fist sized protein, veggies, health fat and carb. I started but results seemed to take a long time to appear. My movements clumsy, they were brand new to me and my joints were extremely immobile, I felt like a rusty tin man. I was getting discouraged and thought maybe this is just not for me. The coaches were awesome, they kept observing and listening to give appropriate instructions on how to improve. Other Crossfitters were supportive and helped with movement tips that worked for them. I said to myself I will just keep showing up and let the coaches take care of the rest. Even when I didn't like the WOD on that day, I remember what Vinny says "you chose to come and workout, that is definitely better than a person who is laying on a couch watching Netflix!" As time went by my movements looked less ridiculous and my body started to look different. I was beginning to hit new milestones! At 3 months I cleaned and jerked my first set of wheels. At 6 months I lost 30 Lbs! I alao did my first rope climb! A week later, first toes to bar! I was terrified of climbing that rope and never thought I will be able to climb it, I never thought I would have the strength nor the guts to hang up there! I was literally feeling "who am I!" I continued to show up and every day I am getting better. I still yet have a lot of movements to master but I'm exponentially better than the person I used to be one year ago. I'm extremely grateful to all the coaches at Thermal for the amazing transformation I'm seeing in my body and for the other athletes at the box for creating a friendly and challenging environment for me to grow in. Because of you, CrossFit is one of the best things that happened to me in my life.

Afterwards, they have a full shower(complete with shampoo and body wash, it's a little tricky at first but you'll get it), and clean bathroom. This place has it all and would definitely be my first stop if ever I'm in the area again!
