I have been attending Crossfit Impulse (CFI) for over two years now. In that time, I have accomplished many things I was previously incapable of due to a long period of inactivity, an old knee injury, a lifetime of bad nutrition, and negative thinking. I entered CFI fundamentals not really knowing what to expect, except for some of the weird posts I saw from a few friends on facebook with words like "WOD", "DU", "Tabata" and "Burpee" (I still wish I never found out what that word meant). After that fundamental weekend which included a short 4 minute workout called 'tabata squats', which absolutely destroyed me, I knew this is what would help me reach my fitness goals. Some of these goals included running a mile without stopping (a quarter mile gassed me at this point), doing a pull-up, and losing a lot of bad weight. I have now run a 5k multiple times (without stopping), completely own pull-ups, and have had a net loss of almost 40 pounds since I joined. The trainers at CFI are the best I have ever come across, because not only are they extremely knowledgeable, they want me to reach my goals as much as I do, sometimes I think even more than I do, which is an incredible motivator. They are very passionate about fitness and no matter what your ability level they will guide you to your goals as long as you are dedicated. read more

I've been a member at CFI for over 2 years. CrossFit as an exercise system/philosophy is fantastic but not the purpose of this post. CrossFit Impulse as a business is an A+. The staff comprised of professional, well-trained athletes at the top of their field. The facilities are fully-outfitted and clean. The equipment is top-of-the-line and new. The payment and scheduling systems are robust, simple to use, and accurate. I have visited 5 other crossfit affiliates and this is the best by all measurements. CrossFit Impulse as a community is where it truly shines. The trainers are friendly and truly seek after our best interest. They watch over the newcomers closely, they push the intermediate level athletes very hard, and they offer world-class programming for the most advanced athletes. The comraderie between athletes is very good. The quality of the athletes that train at CFI are among the best in the southeast as evidenced by the 8th place finish in the 2012 Crossfit Games Regional Competition. I joined Crossfit Impulse 7 months ago needing a change from my old routine. I was a runner for over 10 years and my body was in a slump of the same old routine. I was no longer feeling challenged or motivated. Crossfit has truly changed my life. Not only have I met some of the best trainers in the business at Impluse, I have made some great friends that truly inspire me and motivate me. Just when I think I have given it my all, small words of encouragement are shouted across the gym, and yet there is still more in you to give! Even though you work out in a group setting, your goals are quite individual and the motivation has to come from within. You can measure your successes as well, which for me personally has helped me see where I have come from. Every day is a new day and is a new workout. You will never get bored! Were not a bunch of meat heads, we come from all walks of life, all backgrounds, shapes, and sizes. It does not matter at Crossfit. I can't pretend to know everything there is to know about CrossFit as a sport--and I certainly won't try to here in my review of CrossFit Impulse (CFI)--but I can tell you that my husband and I lucked out when we chose which "box" we'd be a part of. Nine months ago I began my fitness journey at CFI and I have never been happier, physically or mentally. This sport, or way of exercising, or whatever you want to call it... is a lot of fun. And the trainers here are amazing. Simply amazing. I have learned more about what I can accomplish as an athlete from these knowledgeable trainers than I ever did on my own. They will make sure you do lifts properly. They know about nutrition. And they'll make you feel like you're one of the family, regardless of your physical abilities. I have been attending Crossfit Impulse for about 2 months now. I had been out for about 6 months and coming back into Crossfit I had lost some of my strength and technique. The trainers are wonderful at teaching you the sequence of movements and setting you up with the right scale for your workout. I feel like I have learned a lot over the past 2 months. This is such a great gym for me since they have the things that I need. I like here since the staff and crew are really nice. They're really nice in their service. The activities and sessions we have here is outstanding. I never get bored in here unlike other gyms I have gone before. The sessions they offer really helps me build my muscles and make me healthier at the age of 22. read more

Great Crossfit box, one of the best I have seen from the 15 boxes I have visited across the country! I wish they had a class between the 5:30 am and 8:30 am classes, lets say around 6:30 or 7am. Other than that, a great and professional facility with very knowledgable trainers! read more

Crossfit is amazing eventhough I often wonder why I keep going back just to get my butt kicked!! Only way the gym can improve is to install a shower!!! read more
