Coach Chad is an excellent coach! Really knowledgeable with fitness and nutrition. Started Olympic…read moreWeightlifting classes about 3 weeks now with Coach Chad and I can honestly say that I love it! Coach Chad really focuses on technique and making sure we get a good workout too. The gym and the equipment is brand new. This is the place to visit if you want a kick ass workout or want to focus on Olympic Weightlifting.

I highly recommend Jacksonville Strength and Athletics! I knew I wanted to find a gym that focused…read moreon building and strengthening muscle because at 50 yrs old I am seeing how the body starts to lose/break down muscle mass, strength ability and physical weakness has come on quickly from just natural aging. It is HORRIBLE. I hate gyms and the overwhelming feeling of starting another plan to work out - but I had to. THEN I met Coach Chad. This guy is amazing; super smart about strength training but also really focused on being safe at whatever level you come in at. I come in complaining about pain in my knees and back and every time I train with him I feel I am getting stronger and doing work on my weaker areas. It feels like strength training and physical therapy with one stop in my day. The environment at the gym is fun, serious, energized, with a constant message that if you do the work today it will bring positive change tomorrow. All my sessions are different and individually planned for me. Coach Chad is definitely not boring! I really appreciate that while I am complaining that I don't want to be working out he is telling me what I am capable of and that I just need to commit to show up, keep going and the motivation will come. JSA is brand new, the equipment is incredible, Chad is awesome and it's really fun to watch the Olympic Weight Training clients while you work out! I seriously recommend going in and checking it out. It will do really well cause Chad is that good. It has far exceeded my expectations.

Coach Elliot was great, he was very enthusiastic and encouraging. He even answered some questions I had about my base pase after class. I absolutely crushed my workout and hit a 13mph all out, almost 800 calories. I got what I paid for at this studio and look forward to trying additional classes here.

I was not active at all prior to staring at OTF. They still welcomed me in and made me feel comfortable even though I had no clue what I was doing. They offer different levels of workouts depending on your activity levels. I started out on the lower tier and have already worked my way up to being able to run and jog -- I am really seeing a difference. The workouts are pretty intense but it's a take-it-as-you-can style. They never make you overwork yourself or do things your uncomfortable with. I really enjoy the group setting and having the coaches giving direction because it encourages everyone to keep up the pace and to work as hard as they can! It can be a little intimidating but now that I've gotten into a routine here I don't see myself stopping. I'm seeing changes in my stamina and my body already and I'm looking forward to challenging myself even more as time goes on. I recommend coming in and consulting with a coach to get started, they even offer a free class or two if you're new!! No reason not to come give it a try.
