The atmosphere was similar to my box in San Diego, welcoming and encouraging to all, competitive and knowledgeable at the same time. That process is too restrictive when new to a city on business or vacationing. Looking forward to returning when in town. Thanks for a great workout and T-shirt. Kris from San Diego

Not comfortable in a "normal" gym setting? No problem!…read more I was so excited to have a Hotworx close by! I've tried almost all the "trendy" exercise clubs, and Hotworx is by far the best. They are so welcoming and don't give off a snobby attitude if they haven't seen you in a little bit. Each of the rooms have a different class that plays every other hour for 24 hours. Between Hot Core, Hot Buns, Hot Yoga, Hot Warrior, and so many more, I never get bored. The FX weight area in the back is equipped with plenty of equipment. The manager, Ashley is so friendly! While Hotworx is more expensive than your traditional gym setting, it's much more accessible (24/7 hours) than other boutique exercise experiences and is much cheaper than their competition.

It is HORRIBLE. I hate gyms and the overwhelming feeling of starting another plan to work out - but I had to. THEN I met Coach Chad. This guy is amazing; super smart about strength training but also really focused on being safe at whatever level you come in at. I come in complaining about pain in my knees and back and every time I train with him I feel I am getting stronger and doing work on my weaker areas. It feels like strength training and physical therapy with one stop in my day. The environment at the gym is fun, serious, energized, with a constant message that if you do the work today it will bring positive change tomorrow. All my sessions are different and individually planned for me. Coach Chad is definitely not boring! I really appreciate that while I am complaining that I don't want to be working out he is telling me what I am capable of and that I just need to commit to show up, keep going and the motivation will come. JSA is brand new, the equipment is incredible, Chad is awesome and it's really fun to watch the Olympic Weight Training clients while you work out! I seriously recommend going in and checking it out. It will do really well cause Chad is that good. It has far exceeded my expectations.

Four years on, my daily workouts out at First Coast would be the daily highlight of my workweek routine. You do not need to know how to do any CrossFit movement to get started here, just a curiosity and willingness to give it a try. The coaches and people here will welcome you in. They offer different levels of workouts depending on your activity levels. I started out on the lower tier and have already worked my way up to being able to run and jog -- I am really seeing a difference. The workouts are pretty intense but it's a take-it-as-you-can style. They never make you overwork yourself or do things your uncomfortable with.
