I haven't had a chance to become a CrossFit disciple yet, so I figured I'd leave a review. Please, ladies, do not feel intimidated to try this gym. From the moment I walked through the door, the gym owners were asking me about my expectations, goals, and comfort level. Not only did I leave this gym stronger--like, I actually could feel my hamstrings and glutes firing after one adjustment from my coach--I felt genuinely heard. I spoke to several of the women in passing, and each one gave me a friendly smile. Also, I was amazed to see that all four kiddos--all safely strapped into strollers and watching from the lobby--stayed content through the workout. I am not a mom, but I was impressed! Also, I hope that the sweet boy I met today is not the one being bullied by a grown woman on Yelp. He was very respectful while his mom was speaking to me, obedient when she asked him to wait a moment before unbuckling him from his stroller, and answered all my questions about his favorite dinosaurs articulately. I am excited and hopeful about calling this my home gym!

This place is a NIGHTMARE. I have been trying to cancel my…read moremembership and get a refund for months now. The manager herself Reyna, signed me up over the phone. She told me verbatim, that "since the last time I was a member (last year), the cancelation policy has changed and its a lot better now! It used to be so awful to get out of, now you can cancel at any time with no penalties." Which I then clarified, because last time I remember it being a huge headache to cancel my membership at this gym when I had to abruptly move out of town. Two months later when I attempt to cancel my membership because- 1. they are charging me $131 for my first month $99.99/$69.99 a month membership 2. there is never any staff at the gym for me the physically sign a membership agreement (still haven't done that by the way) 3. they never return phone calls no matter how many "messages they leave for the manger" or however many emails you send 4. how dirty and smelly the saunas are I was told by Reyna the manager that I need to be billed SIX TIMES before they will cancel my membership!! I then explained that when I signed up they told me I can cancel anytime without any penalties. Which I was then rudely met with, "I am aware, I was the one who signed you up." They she told me that they will not be canceling my membership "because that will get her in trouble." But I guess lying to members as long as it gets them to sign up is okay at this location. I was then given the email for Reyna's boss, Bianca. Whom I have emailed twice and haven't received a response from. I attempted to cancel in mid October and they just now emailed me a cancelation agreement, but refuse to answer me about a the refund they owe me. I am still getting billed $131. Avoid this place at all costs, I have the paper trails to prove it. ****EDIT: After months of back and forth they finally agreed to give me a refund for in the exact words of the General Manager Bianca something that was, "100% their fault for adding on the family member, and was a mistake on their part." After waiting and wondering where the refund was as I never received it, I reached back out only to be informed that they "paused my refund because she read my review afterwards!". Yep, you head that right. They are not giving me my money back, for something that they have admitting to being "100% their fault" (in writing mind you), because I left them a bad review. For things exactly like this. I requested the owners contact information, and their legal teams and have yet to hear anything. ****

Went over for the Grand Opening to checkout what it's all about…read more Lots of ppl showed up at 11. Really easy to see what the hype was about. I've heard really great reviews from friends at other locations. I have not bought a membership yet but they have been doing presales prior to opening. I've seen ads on Instagram. They are not scheduled to open until mid May. I did go into one of the little sauna and I'm pretty tall and I felt short. Can't wait to try it out!

After the warm up fun we went through some great Snatch progression to ensure that our class was on point with with our form. I'm always happy to cover the ins and outs of lifts that we will be doing in our workouts; performing these drills makes me realize that for so many years I've been lifting all wrong and with no true guidance. Jacks hospitality was top notch and only surpassed by his coaching ability I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in town. I highly suggest that if you are interested in becoming a healthier better "you" that you make Crossfit Above the Bar your first stop.

I was in town visiting my parents from DC and needed to get a workout in, so I started researching…read moregyms in FWB and contacting them about drop in policies. Crossfit Above The Bar was the only one of three gyms that I called and/or emailed that actually contacted me back. So they were the winner and I'm feeling really lucky that's where I ended up because it was such a great experience. Jack greeted me and got me set up quickly, then introduced me to Gabby and asked her to pair up with me and show me around. It was Saturday so we did a team WOD and it was a great workout. Everyone at this gym was so friendly and hospitable... I can't say enough about how great they were. Sometimes it can be a challenge just to walk into a box and feel like you're part of the crew, but that was not the case. From now on, when I'm in town visiting family I will make Crossfit Above the Bar my gym away from home.

I have been to many CrossFit gyms in many states and Momemtum CF is my favorite by far. What makes…read morethis place is the owner, Jordan. She is a great leader/coach and is a bundle of energy. Her programming has great variety and the classes are will structured. They equipment is clean and new, and unlike some CF gyms, everything works. I hate that some gyms do not maintain their expensive equipment, but not here. Seems like Christmas several times a year when new gear arrives. The place is not large, so make sure to reserve your spot if you come during the busy season. And in spite of it not being a massive space, it is the most organized gym I have ever entered. Everything has its place. And the people are fantastic. Fun to be in a place where people are so positive, friendly and helpful. Well organized, great classes, fun people, great owner.

I started by attending classes as often as my schedule and my recovery days would allow. TRX with Debbie Hunter is a great way to improving cardio, flexibility and strength while having fun! Her caring coaching is instrumental to doing it the right way to protect from injury. Cardio Fit classes with Sharon Varnes offer another style that is energetic and fun to increase strength and movement. The main floor of the gym has a variety of equipment for the beginners all the way to professional athletes. Locals and visitors frequent. It's a friendly atmosphere with people focused on fitness. Then they ended up at Midway Fitness at 6:40. Got a day pass and access immediately online and I was able to sign a waiver electronically. Members now and enjoying it!

I hadn't visited the gym in a couple months due to medical issues and decided to cancel my…read moremembership until things improve. While cancelling, I am told that I would be charged a $60 cancellation fee. I asked the purpose of the fee, and was told that it was in the contract. I did not recall any such wording, so I asked if he could show me where I signed my name to such an agreement. As he attempted to pull up my contract in the computer, he tried to justify the fee by saying the fee wasn't as bad as the other gyms. When your only defense of an unscrupulous practice is to point out that other places are worse, you should change your practice. I left after he was unable to pull up the contract, and I will definitely not return.

I've been going to this gym off and on since it opened several years ago and have never had any problems with them.
