I played this course a couple years ago and thought it was decent, but not great as the fairways were somewhat damaged due to watering etc. I went out today on 10/3/2024 and the course was in fantastic shape. I'm told that they just reopened the par 5, (which I didn't know was closed since it's been so long), and they only had one hole that was modified since they just put down new sod on the tee boxes. (#17). They just got new golf carts this month as well. The course is challenging since there are several shots that you have to just trust the line and or yardage, and you really can't hit driver on a lot of holes which is nice. I'd rate it 4.5/5.0 and for a public course since some of the bunkers needed more sand. read more

Only golf course I have ever walked off after 3 holes. If you go into the rough or anywhere near a tree they completely disable the golf cart. At this point you have two choices to either push it back to the cart path or have someone from the clubhouse drive out and push it for you. This is a real shame since the course was good and they did at least refund my money. Of course the kids at the counter let me know that if I did not like it to definitely not play there again. If you would have been able to go in reverse that would have been good. Could not imagine a 70 year old man or woman pushing a dead golf cart back to the path. read more

So, I read many reviews about this course and noticed people rate this course because the cart's disabling near trees and the marshals following them. Well, I get tired of people golfing who think they can do whatever they want on the course and have no respect for other golfers, the course or the facilities equipment. I play 6 times per month and get tired of playing 5-6 hour rounds. This golf course is in excellent shape and the staff was kind and very helpful; amazing, low green fees for the shape of this course (which was excellent). If you're looking for a good pace for an excellent deal play this course. And of course if you're going out to party and not follow golf etiquette, go to Topgolf! Oh, by the way, the marshal's job is to keep pace of play in check and the carts shut off so you don't drive them into the water or woods! Will certainly play this course again many times. read more

Interesting "Hill Country" style course. A little remote from Fort Worth/Metroplex, but intriguing. Condition is generally good, but terrain can be brutal with a lot of elevation changes, blind shots and wind issues on the hilltop fairways. Course also looks, feels and plays longer than the scorecard shows. Recently added on-cart gps is a nice addition. Only problem is that the gps constantly harps at you to stay on cartpaths-even when you are on the cartpaths Also, the carts will shut down at the slightests cartpath infraction. VERY ANNOYING Clubhouse is rather tired, but......green fees are generally affordable. Crosstimbers is definitely worth a try if you are up for a drive in the country. read more

I have had three golf tournaments out at Cross Timbers the staff is impeccable relaxed and laid-back attitude helps with the planning of a golf tournament. For the times I have played here the golf course has looked fabulous and greens are in great shape. Keith and his group do a great job all around. We include a burger lunch with our golf tournament which is one of the best hamburgers in the area and competes with any of the hamburger restaurants. Enjoyed the course but in severe need of a Marshall. VERY slow round. 6-8 stacked up on every tee box was brutal! (10/10/19) $35 for a round is also severely over-priced. I understand it is going up $7 soon. I will not return simply due to the cost. Not worth the money when I can play much nicer, faster paced courses around DFW and the Weatherford area. read more

The course was in great shape, the course marshall is responsible for this 1 star review. He bitched at our group the whole time, he creeped through the woods & would hide near tee boxes. We are avid golfers & always play with proper etiquette, this old man was just on a power stroke. Every 3-4 holes he would tell us to speed up our play, when we were already scrambling. You should have seen him hiding in the trees near the tee boxes...he was very distracting from holes 1-18. We won't be back!! read more

Older guy working the check in desk had an attitude this morning definitely effected the beginning of my golf game, put a damper on everyone's mood. Definitely needs to undergo further training on his desk computer and customer service. read more

An overall good course. The greens have always been in good, fast shape. I enjoy the elevation change layout mixed with "what you see, is what you get" holes as well. I just WISH THEY DID GOLF NOW APP! For the price it is 4 Star. read more

First time I have ever walked off a golf course after only playing 3 holes. The course looked very nice, but as soon as you go off the cart path into the rough you get a small warning then the golf cart completely shuts down. Only way is for you to get out and push the cart back towards the path or wait for someone to come all the way from the club house to push it for you while you are holding up anyone in your group or any groups behind you. If it enabled you to at least go into reverse to go back then that would have been fine, but to completely go limp and useless? I could understand if I was driving it in a creek or on the green, but to do this in the rough when you are looking for a ball no way. After I finished the 3rd hole I asked for my money back. I received my money which was a big bonus, but also got to hear the comments like, "Well that will free up some space on the course now." Also the GPS on the cart did not work so I had no way of knowing how far from the hole I was at. Until the feature that completely disables the cart useless if you get a little into the rough is gone I cannot see myself ever returning. Never have I ever played a course where that was a feature and if I would have known I never would have played. read more

The course if fine, but the hours inside the club house are awful! The range closes way too early, and during the summer it's nice to hit balls around 7:30 or so when things cool down. Not at Cross Timbers read more

Too slow pace of play even when starting before 7:30 it was going to be 5+ hours. The Marshall didn't even care and when the group behind us hit into us the second time he was like it happens even though we were waiting on the four groups in front of us. You literally hit a shot and drive up and wait for 5 min before you hit again. read more

Wow, I really hate to put a review on here. Now everyone will want to come here. The Golf course is in the BEST shape of all the different courses I play in the DFW area. Right now this is #1. The fairways look just like the Greens. Even 2 Private clubs don't look this good. Play it now while it looks this good. Staff is very friendly. Prices are great. So much Fun!! read more

Cross timbers is in my top 3 favorite course to play in DFW. The course is challenging but also forgiving on several holes. The prices are normal. I usually do their twilight prices. I grew up playing this course. I highly recommend this place. The grill is good however it closes pretty early. Other than that this course is a blast. read more
